The following runners which had not raced for an extended period, Caieron, Late Night, Cupids Son, Boogie Wonderland, Rue Lepic and Mishani Menace all underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and were cleared to start.
 
Race 1: LADBROKES LIVE BETTING RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICA 950M
 
CAIERON – Put its head down as the start was being effected and began very awkwardly causing jockey M. Abe to become unbalanced and be dislodged. After being examined by the QAS officers he was cleared of any injury and able to fulfil his further riding engagements.
A veterinary examination revealed CAIERON to be in a slightly distressed state after proving difficult to catch. Trainer R. Miller was advised he must obtain a further barrier certificate for the gelding prior to it being permitted to race again. 
 
BELLE ADELE – Slow to begin.
 
VIBURNUM – Slow to begin. Raced wide rounding the home-turn.
EYE OF RA – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the middle stages.
 
WRONGFULLY WRONG – Had a tendency to over-race in the middle stages.
 
BOHEMIAN FLYER – Raced wide rounding the home-turn.
 
PAPARAZZI ROCKET – Raced wide rounding the home-turn. Lost its off-hind plate during running.
 
HANEDA – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a laceration to its off front leg. Trainer M. Potiris was advised she must provide a veterinary certificate of soundness prior to it being permitted to race or trial again.
 
Race 2: RED BERET HOTEL QTIS MAIDEN HANDICAP  950M
 
BRADSHAW – Delayed the start when proved difficult to load. Trainer F. Wieland was advised a warning would be placed on its barrier manners. Raced wide rounding the home-turn.
 
NEOEX – Slow to begin. Raced greenly in the middle stages.
 
READY TO REASON – Slow to begin.
 
POWER SHOW – Slow to begin. Lost its near-hind plate during running.

CALM IS POWER – Bounded in the air on jumping. Jockey L. Morrison reported the gelding made the home turn awkwardly.
 
LATE NIGHT – Began awkwardly.
 
MAGGIE'S ME NAME – Had difficulties obtaining clear running leaving the 200 metres until near the 100 metres.
 
Race 3: THANK YOU SEAN & THE IPSWICH TURF CLUB TRACK TEAM QTIS MAIDEN HANDICAP  1400M
 
The start of this race was delayed when the horses were late arriving at the barriers.  
 
LIZA IN LIGHTS – Slow to begin. Hampered approaching the winning post.
 
TYCOON GRACE – Began awkwardly brushing its outside barrier gate.
 
AMBER'S POWER – Shifted out on jumping, bumping with SHADOW ECLIPSE.
 
SHADOW ECLIPSE – Bumped on jumping.
 
IMPERIUM – Slow into stride. Raced wide for the majority.
 
KEEP ON RUNNING – Shifted out approaching the winning post hampering LIZA IN LIGHTS. Jockey A. Spinks was advised to show greater care.
 
KAI COME – Raced wide for the majority.

GREAT SURVEY – Raced wide for the majority.
 
Race 4: LOUIE PICCONE MEMORIAL OPEN HANDICAP  1400M
 
VENTURA OCEAN (IRE) – Shifted its off-hind plate in the tie up area requiring farrier attention.
Slow to begin.
 
SOUTHERN SWING – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
BOLD TYPE – Over-raced in the early stages.

GULF OF LION – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
PETER THE PIPER – Raced wide without cover.
 
BATTLE CRY – Raced wide for the majority.
 
Race 5: LADBROKES RACING CLUB BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP  950M
 
MACEDON FLYER – Began awkwardly making heavy contact with its outside barrier gate and lost ground.
 
WELL IN SIGHT – Had its head turned inwards as the start was effected and lost ground. Jockey L. Morrison reported the mare made the home turn awkwardly.

SOUTHERN FRONT – Slow to begin.

BOOGIE WONDERLAND – Slow to begin. Tended to lay in leaving the 500 metres. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
HOKOLESQUA – Raced ungenerously in the early stages.
 
CUPID'S SON – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
LOUD NOISE – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slow post-race recovery. Co-Trainer P. Rowe advised stewards it would now be his intention that LOUD NOISE be sent for an immediate spell.
 
Race 6: GREAT NORTHERN BREWING CO. RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP  950M
 
WICKED DREAMER – Began awkwardly. Raced wide rounding the home-turn.
 
EVIL WOMAN – Shifted in on jumping bumping SHOW AND GO.
 
SHOW AND GO – Bumped on jumping.
 
MADONNACAN'TSING – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Jockey R. Payne advised the mare got its tongue over the bit during running. Co-Trainer P. Rowe advised stewards he would experiment with tongue tie being added to its gear for its next start.

GOLDEN CHARLES –A post-race veterinary examination of GOLDEN CHARLES identified the presence of blood in both nostrils. GOLDEN CHARLES shall not without the permission of the Stewards: (a) be trained, exercised or galloped on any racecourse for a period of two months; (b) start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after a satisfactory gallop of at least 1,000 metres in the presence of a Steward. AR79(4)
 
Race 7: FGF BITUMEN BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP    1250M
 
DIVINE WIT – Slow to begin.
 
COLLOMBATTI – Slow to begin.
 
SEALION – Slow to begin. When questioned in regard to its performance today jockey G. Kliese explained that after being slow to begin he was reluctant to push forward as he would have been caught very wide and would have had to use the gelding up to much and further added that SEALION does have a tendency to over-race if bustled early. Stable foreman R. Ryan agreed with jockey G. Kliese. Stewards noted their explanation.  
 
STRATEGIST – Shifted out at the start tightening runners to its outside.
 
NEBARAZ – Tightened for room on jumping and lost ground.  
 
KING'S HALO – Shifted in at the start tightening runners to its inside. Over-raced early.
 
CODY'S BOY – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
MISHANI MENACE – Tightened for room on jumping.
 
HEROIC ANGEL – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 8: GARY RICHES BUILDERS RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 HANDICAP  1500M
 
PREMIUM STAR – Bounded in air on jumping and shifted out bumping PLUCKERCARN.
 
PLUCKERCARN – Bumped on jumping.
 
HOW AWESOME – Compounded leaving the 600 metres and finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery. Trainer A. Bailey was advised he  must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to it being permitted to race or trial again.
 
LADY OF FORTUNE – Lost its near-hind plate during in running.
