SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
LADBROKES CANNON PARK – TUESDAY 9 APRIL 2024
 
Race 8: CARLTON & UNITED BREWERIES HANDICAP – 1250 Metres
 
KING JESTER – Trainer R. Miller subsequently advised stewards following the meeting that the gelding had injured its off-fore fetlock and has been sent for a spell. Mr Miller was advised a veterinary certificate of soundness must be provided prior to KING JESTER being permitted to trial or race again. 
 
GENERAL
As jockey A. Sewell was not riding at today’s meeting, he was replaced as per steward’s summary.  
 
Due to the cancelation of an interstate meeting all races were brought forward seven (7) minutes from original time slots.
 
Race 1: AUSTRALASIAN POINT OF SALE SOLUTIONS QTIS MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1400 Metres
 
The start of this race was significantly delayed when the starter was kicked behind the barriers and required medical attention before being transported to Cairns hospital for further observation. As a result of this delay races were rescheduled to start, Race 1 – 2.05pm, Race 2 – 2.35pm, Race 3 – 3.05pm, Race 4 – 3.35pm, Race 5 - 4.05pm, Race 6 – 4.35pm, Race 7 – 5.05pm, Race 8 – 5.35pm.     
 
* ATOMIC THEORY – Was declared a late scratching 2.02pm when refused to load. All monies invested on ATOMIC THEORY were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 2.02pm:

Trainer R. Miller was advised ATOMIC THEORY must pass two consecutive trials to stewards satisfaction prior to being permitted to race again.    
 
PRIDEOFTHEBIGFISH – Shifted out at the start bumping CYBER JAM. Finished tailed off. When asked to explain its performance rider R. Wiggins advised the gelding made the crossing awkwardly and thereafter did not feel comfortable in its action. Trainer J. Manzelmann was at a loss to explain the performance and gave an undertaking to advise stewards should anything come to his attention in following days that may have had a bearing on its performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
CYBER JAM – Bumped shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
KING CANUTE – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
THREDBO – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
SNUGGLE BANG YAHOO – Made the 900 metre turn awkwardly and was restrained off heels. Laid out in the middle stages.
 
The photo finish camera failed to operate, and results were judged by the judge/photo finish officials.

 
Race 2: GATA PLASTERING MAIDEN HANDICAP – 950 Metres
 
SIRENE ROUGE – Was declared a late scratching 2.20pm by order of stewards when fractious during its preliminary breaking through the outside running rail. All monies invested on SIRENE ROUGE were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 2.20pm:
0 cents in the dollar for the win IMPERIUM
2 cents in the dollar for the place of winner IMPERIUM  
2 cents in the dollar for 2nd place WANERLEI & MAROONS
 
Trainer R. Miller was advised the mare must trial under race-day conditions prior to being permitted to race again.  
 
IMPERIUM – Was slow to begin and shifted out bumping MAROONS. Over-raced in the early and middle stages.  
 
MAROONS – Was slow to begin bumping with IMPERIAM.
 
JUST JONESY  – Bounded in the air on jumping.
 
WANDERLEI – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
PURPOSE 'N' VISION – Unable to obtain clear running in the home straight and went to the line without being fully tested.
 
The photo finish camera failed to operate, and results were judged by the judge/photo finish officials. As they could not be totally satisfied there was a margin between 2nd and 3rd a dead heat was declared for second place MAROONS and WANDERLEI.
 
Race 3: HUBBARDS PAINTING QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP – 950 Metres
 
YANIT – Slow to begin.
 
DON'T CHA WISH – Slow to begin. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
NAZORIAN – Slow into stride. Hampered shortly after the start and was restrained.
 
CATALINA DREAMING – Bounded in the air on jumping and lost ground.
 
MISHANI MYSTIQUE – Began awkwardly.
 
HE'S ALL POWER – Shifted out shortly after the start hampering NAZORIAN. Over-raced in the early stages. Restrained near the 100 metres when racing greenly.   
 
Race 4: EDMONTON BATTERY CENTRE AND CAR AIR CONDITIONING CLASS 6 PLATE – 950 Metres
 
ALI'S JAB – Was declared a late scratching at 2.20pm by order of stewards after becoming very fractious in the tie-up area. As betting had not commenced no deductions were applicable.  
 
BOHO BEAUTY – Was declared a late scratching at 3.40pm when fractious in its preliminary and then refusing to load.All monies invested on BOHO BEAUTY were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 3.40pm:
 
19 cents in the dollar for the win MISSILE THUNDER
20 cents in the dollar for the place of winner MISSILE THUNDER
21 cents in the dollar for 2nd place SPEED LEGEND   
 
Trainer S. Massingham was advised BOHO BEAUTY must pass a trial to stewards’ satisfaction prior to being permitted to race again.    
 
MISSILE THUNDER – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
CARESSING RUPERT – Began awkwardly. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
SPEED LEGEND – Blundered on jumping. Was unable to take advantage of a run which presented momentarily leaving the 300 metres between CARESSING RUPERT and POMADE and then shifted wider leaving the 100 metres and found the line strongly.

GAME THEORY – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
Race 5: PAUL DAVIS CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP – 950 Metres
 
SONIC LIGHT – Slow to begin.
 
LADY DAMUS – Slow to begin. Shifted in and away from ZI WIN when racing in restricted room to its inside near the 300 metres crowding MAIORI.   
 
LORD POWER – Was racing in restricted room near the 300 metres when further crowded by MAIORI which shifted in slightly and was restrained.
 
POWER PUFF– Bumped on jumping with IAMRUSTYPARKER.Over-raced in the early stages.
 
IAMRUSTYPARKER – Bumped on jumping with POWER PUFF. Over-raced in the early stages. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
NO LOVE LOST – Bounded in the air on jumping. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to its near hind leg. Trainer B. Thomson was advised a veterinary certificate of soundness must be provided prior to its next trial or race start.  
 
MAIORI – Shifted in when crowded for room near the 300 metres placing LORD POWER in restricted room. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer C. Jokic advised it would now be the intention to retire the mare from racing, nonetheless Ms Jokic was advised that should circumstances change a full veterinary certificate of soundness must be provided prior to its next trial or race start.  
 
SIMPLY BEANS – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
Race 6: LADBROKE IT! BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP – 1250 Metres
 
TEN SCHILLING – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
CROWNING MOMENT – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
HEALING GAME – Commenced to over-race leaving the 1000 metres and shifted out forcing INDICTMENT wider. Raced wide from that point onwards.
 
INDICTMENT – Forced wider leaving the 800 metres and raced wide from that point onwards.
 
SANTA MARINELLA – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have injured its near fore tendon. Trainer R. Miller was advised a veterinary certificate of soundness must be provided prior to its next trial or race start.  
 
BOLD FEELING – Trainers T & P Rowe advised stewards the gelding had returned to its stable showing a slight, poor post-race recovery.
 
Race 7: RNR AIR - AIR CONDITIONING & REFRIGERATION OPEN HANDICAP – 1400 Metres
 
LOVE ON SUNDAY – Was declared a late scratching at 7.39am by order of stewards when trainer A. Malliff advised stewards the gelding was found to be lame in the near foreleg. Mr Malliff was advised he must provide a veterinary certificate of soundness prior to it being permitted to trial or race again.
 
PANIAGUA – Slow to begin.
 
NEBARAZ – Slow to begin.
 
RED LIGHT ROXANNE – Slow to begin.
 
OLYMPIC KORCHNOI (BRZ) – Began awkwardly.
 
MYSTERY 'N' MAGIC – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
GO GETABOY – Laid out under pressure brushing INVESTOR near the 100 metres.
 
INVESTOR – Bumped with VIVENZO on a number of occasions between the 400 metres and the 150 metres when racing tightly.
 
VIVENZO – Bumped on a number of occasions by INVESTOR between the 400 metres and the 150 metres when racing tightly.
 
Stewards considered an objection lodged by rider J. Murphy, the rider of VIVENZO which finished second against GO GETABOY (App R. Wilson in the company of senior rider F. Edwards) being declared the winner on the grounds of alleged  interference in the home straight and a further objection by rider S. Sheargold, (INVESTOR) which finished third against second placegetter VIVENZO (J. Murphy) and first placegetter GO GETABOY (App R. Wilson) over alleged interference in  the home straight. As stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that the degree of interference constituted a change in the finishing positions of runner’s, stewards dismissed the objections and declared correct weight on the judge’s semaphored numbers.
 
Race 8: CAIRNS AMATEURS CARNIVAL 12-14 SEPTEMBER 2024 BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP – 1400 Metres
 
HEROIC ANGEL – Stewards accepted the explanation tendered for the late declaration of rider for the mare. Raced wide for the majority.
 
WITNESS ATTACK – Stewards accepted the explanation tendered for the late declaration of rider for the gelding. Hampered leaving the 200 metres until near the 100 metres.
 
MISHANI MENACE – Slow to begin.
 
VILA TINTO – Began awkwardly and shifted out inconveniencing BETTER AL.Laid out shortly after the start hampering FODOR. Over-raced in the early stages. Laid out under pressure leaving the 200 metres hampering WITNESS ATTACK until near the 100 metres.
 
BETTA AL – Inconvenienced on jumping and lost ground.
 
FODOR – Restrained off heels shortly after the start.
 
SURIN BEACH – Eased down over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in both front fetlocks. Trainer C. Jokic advised it would now be the intention to retire the gelding from racing, nonetheless Ms Jokic was advised that should circumstances change a full veterinary certificate of soundness must be provided prior to its next trial or race start.
