RACE 1: WARREGO HOTEL MOTEL BMK 55 HCP – 1000M
CROSSAINTS – Knuckled at the start and lost ground.
NOVARUPTA – Began awkwardly.
RUBIS – Began awkwardly.
KENTUCKY BOMBER – Tightened for room shortly after the start.
RODEL – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.
RACE 2: PRESIDENTS OPEN HANDICAP – 1000M
CONFIDENT STAR – Jumped out at the start.
BRITISH BULLDOG – Bumped by another runner at the start and lost ground.
FOUR IRON – Was slow to begin.
TORERO – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.
REGAL PRINCE – When questioned in regards to the performance of the gelding, apprentice E. Cass stated that after beginning only fairly, she was forced to settle back further than anticipated. She added that once the gelding had settled it then had a tendency to hang out, resented the kick back and did not respond to her riding over the concluding stages of the event. Trainer R. Frazer advised stewards that the gelding may not have handled the track conditions in today’s event and that he would report to stewards if anything should arise in the coming days. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant findings.
RACE 3: LORRAINE NAGEL MEMORIAL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 3YO & UP SET WEIGHTS – 1200M
JUSDECJA – Stood flat footed and lost ground. Trainer N. King was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding.
GRACE AND WILF – Stood flat footed and lost ground. Trainer P. Townsend was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare.
LET THE TIGER ROAR – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.
MOON LIGHT CRISTI – Was slow to begin.
RACE 4: PATRONS CLASS 2 HANDICAP - 1200M
OH SO BEAUTIFUL – Knuckled at the start and became momentarily unbalanced. Shortly after the start shifted out making contact with another runner. Apprentice K. Nakata was reprimanded for using his whip in the forehand more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
KIRKHEATON – Was slow to begin.
WONGARANDA – Bumped by another runner shortly after the start.
AFFECTIONATE ONE – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
RACE 5: ANN DUFF MEMORIAL CLASS B HCP – 1400M
ELEGANT ELLIE – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
JIMNA – Bumped by another runner at the start. Raced in restricted room near the 800m and had to be restrained.
FASTPITCH – Hung out at the point of the turn near the 800m.
SUGAR DOLL – Began awkwardly.
RACE 6: BURRENBILLA CUNNAMULLA CUP OPEN HCP – 1400M
JOE BLOW – Was slow to begin.
RIGHT OF REPLY – Was slow to begin. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. When questioned in regards to the performance of the gelding, apprentice K. Nakata stated that after being caught wide in the early stages he endeavored to stride forward to obtain a midfield position however the gelding could not muster the required speed to do so. He added further that the once the gelding had settled it did not handle the track conditions and did not respond to his riding over the concluding stages proving disappointing in his opinion. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant findings.
