GENERAL
 
Jockey M Powell did not ride at today’s meeting due to medical reasons. Rider changes as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Stewards approved Jockey M Murphy permission to ride .5kg overweight on BORDEAUX HOPPER in Race 6.
 
Due to the period elapsing between runs the following horses were pre-race vetted and passed fit to start.
Race 1- GODDESS OF THE MOON, Race 5- WAITAKERE, (Tmba 20/8), Race 8- LEXI’S CHOICE.
 
Due to a delay resulting from a mechanical malfunction to the barriers at the completion of Race 5 at today’s program Stewards. Start times were amended to Race 6- 3.32pm, Race 7- 4.08pm, Race 8- 4.43pm and Race 9- 5.11pm.
 
 
Race 1: JWT CLEANING MAINTENANCE QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden
Handicap 800 metres
 
Maginnis- Began awkwardly. Leaving the 200m shifted out and bumped MAXIMUM ATTITUDE. Over the concluding stages the gelding shifting out and taking MAXIMUM ATTITUDE out, this incident resulted in SPUR ME and EN POINTE having to ease off heels. Appr S Willis was advised by Stewards to exercise more care as a result.
 
Maximum Altitude- Bumped by another runner leaving the 200m point.
 
Annie's Top- Approaching the 650m point had to steady off the heels of MAGINNIS.
 
En Pointe- Began awkwardly and then made contact with the outside barrier gate. Bumped another runner approaching the 600m point.
 
Goddess Ofthe Moon- Began awkward.
 
Spur Me- At the 600m point bumped EN POINTE.
 
Mishani Sunshine- Travelled three -wide for the majority of the event.
 
 
Race 2: PEST WORX Maiden Handicap 1400 metres
 
Grande Veloce- Lost a near front plate in running, due to the seemingly disappointing performance of the gelding stewards ordered that a post- race vet examination be performed. This examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
Hush Puppy- Shortly after the start shifted out and made heavy contact with GRANDE VELOCE which lost ground.
 
Rose Giselle- Was declared a late scratching at 12.41pm by order of Stewards acting on Vet advice after the horse became fractious in the barriers and had a wound above the right eye. On the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies placed on ROSE GISELLE be refunded in full and the following deductions to apply to all successful wagers prior to 12.41pm. Win- 13c and place- 13c, 2nd Place- 10c, and 3rd place 12c. Trainer C Munce stable representative was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the gelding racing again.
 
Heart Of Marble- Began awkwardly shifting out and made contact with STAR OF COUTEAU, had raced keenly during the early stages of the event, then was held up when rounding the home turn.
 
Star Of Couteau- Bumped by another runner at the start and lost ground.
 
Pearls 'N' Pimms- At the 500m, held up for a run for a short distance.
 
Hallside Wildthing- Travelled three- wide with cover for the majority.
 
Mahigrant- Was crowded for room and checked at the start and lost ground, when leaving the 1200m point raced with its head up when being restrained for some distance.
 
Stirling Diva- Raced three -wide with no cover for the majority.
 
 
Race 3: STAG MACHINERY Maiden Handicap 1400 metres
 
 
Manzikert- Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
Zeebling- Bumped with PAR UN NEZ shortly after the start. Travelled wide with cover for the majority of the event.
 
Par Un Nez- Bumped at the start by another runner.
 
Zatara- Appr jockey Emily Lang was reprimanded by Stewards acting under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for her use of the whip prior to the 100m point on 6 occasions, one more than permitted.
 
Zattastar- Jumped awkwardly losing considerable ground shortly after the start.
 
Sizzling Diamond- Raced wide for the majority of the event with no cover.
 
 
Race 4: DALBY CABS Maiden Plate 1788 metres
 
 
Adams Apple- Was tightened for room shortly after the start.
 
Chosen Distance- Acting under AR132(7)(a)(ii) Stewards reprimanded Jockey J Taylor for his excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m on six occasions, one more than permitted. Stewards noted that this was Jockey Taylor’s third offence under this rule.
 
In Close Reach- Began awkwardly. Jockey M Murphy reported to Stewards that the horse felt awkward in its action in running. Stewards ordered a post-race veterinary examination be undertaken. This examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer J Walk gave Stewards an undertaking that he would advise them should any abnormalities appear in coming days.
 
Craiglea Clio- Jumped awkwardly and made contact with the inside barrier gate.
 
Craypot- Bumped by another runner when both JAZZ and CRAYPOT shifted ground simultaneously.
 
Jazz- Tightened for room at the start.
 
Lady Sheilack- Prior to being loaded into the barriers the Starter reported to Stewards the Mare’s tongue tie had broken with no replacement being available at the barriers. Due to time restraints Stewards ordered the horse run without the tongue tie.  travelled wide throughout the event.
 
Miss Manilow- Stewards acting under AR132(7)(a)(ii) reprimanded Jockey K Zechner for his excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m. Jockey Zechner used the whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m, two more than permitted and Stewards noted that this was his second offence under this rule.
 
Sudden Suspect- Made the crossing awkwardly when turning into the straight and then shifted out.
 
 
Race 5: WESTERN DOWNS MARINE AND CANVAS BENCHMARK 62
Handicap 1788 metres
 
Meatball- Made contact with the mounting yard gate enroute to the barriers Stewards ordered a pre-race veterinary examination be performed. This examination failed to find any abnormalities and was subsequently passed fit to start. Bumped with IDLING BY on jumping.
 
Waitakere- Due to racing at the Toowoomba Turf Club Meeting on the 20th of August 2022 Stewards ordered a pre-race Veterinary examination be performed. The gelding was subsequently passed fit to start. Bumped with another runner as the start was affected, then travelled wide with no cover during the middle stages of the event.
 
Idling By- Bumped with another runner shortly after the start.
 
Repetiteur- Bumped with WAITAKERE on jumping. Raced in restricted room leaving the 500-metre point for a short distance.
 
Buckin' Lucky- Steadied when placed in restricted room at the 1500m point.
 
 
Race 6: SUPA CONSTRUCTIONS Class 1 Handicap 1400 metres
 
Kyogle Kid- Began awkwardly, in an effort to obtain clear running the gelding shifted out when insufficiently clear at the 500m point and as a result forced SECRET KING and FREEDOM AVENUE out, did lay out for a short distance in the home straight.
 
Outlaw Josey Wales- Raced wide with cover for the majority.
 
Secret King - Travelled wide with cover for the majority.
 
Freedom Avenue- Stewards acting under AR132(7)(a)(ii) Stewards fined Appr Jockey J Williams the sum of $200 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m on six occasions, one more than permitted.
 
Bordeaux Hopper- Jumped awkwardly bumped with JUMPING BEAN shortly after the start.
 
Jumping Bean - Was bumped by another runner shortly after the start. Travelled wide with no cover for the majority of the event. Approaching the 800m had to be eased off the heels of MISHANI PHAROAH which shifted out when not completely clear.
 
Mishani Pharoah- At the 800m did shift out when not fully clear Appr Jockey S Stephan was advised by Stewards to exercise more care. Appr Stephan advised that her mount had hung for the majority, Stewards noted Appr Stephan’s explanation.
 
Imitari- Held up when entering the home straight
 
 
Race 7: FUTURE FUELS DISTRIBUTORS Class 4 Handicap 1400 metres
 
 
The Tyler- Over raced in the early – mid stages of the event. Bumped by another runner at the 800m point.
 
Rapido Gris- Was slow to begin. At the 500m had to be steadied when racing in restricted room. Bumped another runner at the 200m point.
 
Zamosa (NZ)- Began awkward and bumped TRACKMAN
 
Sir Piccolo- Raced three-wide with cover for the majority of the event.
 
Miss Twenty Twenty- Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. At the 800m shifted out and bumped THE TYLER.
 
Trackman (NZ)- Stewards replaced Appr Jockey J William with Appr Jockey C Collis due to Appr Jockey J Williams being unable to make his allotted weight. After considering his excellent record regarding this rule and his forthright evidence Stewards acting under AR190(3) issued a reprimand to Appr Jockey Williams. Bumped at the start by another runner. At the 200m eased off the heels of MISHANI UNTAMED which shifted out after being bumped by RAPIDOS GRIS. Shifted out to avoid heels at the 550m point.
 
The Knight- Raced three-wide with no cover for the majority.
 
 
 
Race 8: SOUTHSIDE BUTCHERY & BUTCHERS PANTRY BENCHMARK
55 Handicap 1200 metres
 
Grandioso- momentarily held up approaching the home straight.
 
Bluindi- Stewards acting under AR132(7)(a)(ii) reprimanded Jockey P Hamblin for his excessive use of the whip. Jockey Hamblin used the whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m point two more than permitted, Stewards noted that this was Jockey P Hamblin’s first offence under this rule.
 
Charged- Began awkwardly and shifted out after the start.
 
Lexi's Choice- Tightened for room behind CHARGED and BLUINDI.
 
Maha Mustang- Slow to begin, travelled wide for the majority.
 
Takemeoutback- Raced disappointingly from the 200m. On returning to scale Appr Jockey W Peel advised Stewards she was of the opinion her mount had went amiss in its action when entering the home turn and that it may have become lame, and she elected to pull it out of the race from the 100m point. Stewards ordered that a post-race veterinary examination be performed, this examination failed to find any abnormalities. Stewards spoke with Trainer C Henry representative; Mr Henry has given an undertaking to advise of the horse’s condition in coming days he would notify stewards.
 
We All Agree- Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Travelled wide for the majority of the event. Laid in under pressure shortly after entering the home straight.
 
Pixie Magic- Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Approaching the 800m was restrained off heels.
 
Bloodblister- Bumped by WE ALL AGREE which began awkwardly to her inside. Travelled wide for the majority of the event.
 
 
Race 9: DALBY LEAGUES CLUB BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200 metres
 
Syd's Footprints- Raced keenly during the early stages.
 
A Good Chance- Jumped out at the start and made contact with the barrier gate. Jockey H Richardson dropped her whip approaching the 200m point..
 
Military Kings- Began awkwardly. Travelled wide with no cover.
 
Incomparable- Jumped in the air at the start and lost ground.
 
Mountbatten- Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
Maddiara- Tightened for room behind EAST ESPLANADE and HARRYANDTHETIGER shortly after the start, eased off the heels of EAST ESPLANDE approaching the 800m.
 
Harryandthetiger- At the 500m shifted out and made contact with ASTROPHYSICS.
 
 
Astrophysics- Travelled wide with cover for the majority. Bumped by another runner at the 500m. Jockey W D’Avila was reminded by Stewards of his obligation to ride his mount out.
