Declaration of correct weight was delayed when Jockey J Stanley, rider of 4th placegetter GATEWAYS, lodged an objection against 3rd placegetter, BOOM RAPTURE, sighting interference soon after entering the home straight. After taking evidence from the riders and connections of the runners involved it was determined that soon after entering the home straight BOOM RAPTURE shifted in abruptly when insufficiently clear of GATRWAYS causing that runner to be restrained and lose its rightful running. Considering this as well as the beaten margin and the manner in which the two runners finished off the event Stewards were comfortably satisfied that the interference did have a tangible effect on the result and as such  upheld the protest and declared correct weight on the amended placings.
