Race 1: ALL COOL INDUSTRIES OPEN H’CAP – 2220M

SHOTOVER RIVER – The veterinary surgeon reported that the horse was lame in the near foreleg post-race. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the horse’s next start.

NISSILE – Pulled hard in the early and middle stages.

This event was hand-timed.

Race 2: BRANDONS QTIS 3YO H’CAP – 1640M

MISHANI HONCHO – Jumped awkwardly. Restrained from heels at the 600m and shifted out.

MR EPIC – Raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages.

TOO GOOD TO REFUSE – Bumped on jumping away. Lost its off hind plate in running.

GRAND DAZZLER – Checked when tightened for room near the 600m.

WACK’EM – Attempted to shift out passing the 600m but was prevented from doing so by a runner to its outside.

Race 3: ENWISE ELEC & AIR-CON BM80 H’CAP – 1640M

L’ENTRECOTE – Connections advised that the horse would be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly. Apprentice J. Orman allowed his mount to shift out after leaving the 300m when not fully clear of other runners. He was advised to exercise more care.

ELECTRIC DEE JAY – Had to be steadied to avoid the heels of another runner inside the 300m.

Race 4: GARDEN CITY AIR-CON F&M BM85 H’CAP – 1350M

ELUSIVE STORM – Overraced in the middle stages. Accidentally struck over the head by the whip of C. Schmidt (BUON AUSPICIO) near the 300m. Apprentice S. Payne, the rider of ELUSIVE STORM, was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in under pressure over the concluding stages.

LUCKY NEWS – A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the horse had been galloped on on the off hind leg and had struck itself on the near hind leg.

CHAMPAGNE BLAZE – Had to be steadied close to the finishing line to avoid heels..

WIDOW’S WALK – Raced three wide throughout without cover.

Race 5: QLD HOME SOLUTIONS OPEN H’CAP – 1200M

TERRITORY – Crowded for room shortly after the start.

JOPA – Held up for clear running approaching the 200m. J. Lloyd reported that in his opinion the horse did not handle the firm track conditions today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. A swab sample was taken.

SUIT – Bumped shortly after the start.

Race 6: SHANNONS AIR-CON BM85 H’CAP – 1050M

LOVE ROCKS – Raced wide throughout without cover. Apprentice L. Dittman pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) for allowing his mount to shift in approaching the first turn, causing interference to other runners. L. Dittman’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 meetings, with the term to commence at midnight on Saturday 22 August and expire at midnight on Friday 4 September 2015. In determining penalty, stewards took into account apprentice Dittman’s guilty plea.

TEXAN LAD – Checked when tightened for room after leaving the 800m.

HE DON’T CARE – Trainer R. McCall advised that he expected the horse to lead, however if caught wide will try to take cover behind the leaders. Bled both nostrils. As this was the second occasion on which the horse has bled, it will now incur a mandatory lifetime ban from racing.

MANA MANU – Tightened for room making the first turn.

SHAPIN LADY – Checked when tightened for room approaching the first turn.

Race 7: TEECE AIR-CON C,G&E BM85 H’CAP – 1350M

MY QUILTER – Raced wide without cover.

BUAKAW – Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the straight.

BILLY DA BOSS – Raced wide without cover. Forced wider on the home turn.

Race 8: TONY STEPHENS AIR-CON 0MW H’CAP – 1200M

SILIQUA – Fractious in the barriers, jumped awkwardly and lost significant ground (3 lengths). A warning was placed on the horse.

LAUGH A LITTLE – Raced wide throughout. R. Fradd reported that the horse was stepping short in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

TRUBIA – Held up approaching and rounding the home turn.
