Race 1: Turner Freeman Lawyers Class 1 Plate – 2240m

WINDY EVENING – Reared as the gates opened and lost ground.

YAMANNERS – Began very awkwardly.

USSANDU – Held up approaching the 400m.

CASTALIE – Hung out badly throughout the race.

Race 2: Qld Council of Unions F&M Maiden H'cap – 1110m

COUNTY MAIL – Slow to muster speed.

CHICA PEEPS – Began awkwardly.

AUGUSTA GIRL – Raced 3 wide from the 800m.

HONEY AND ROSES – Became awkward and raced awkwardly for a short distance rounding the home turn.

CHICA PEEPS – Raced greenly and shifted out abruptly after the 200m.

Race 3: Electrical Trades Union Qld/NT Maiden H'cap – 1110m

NO ALIBI NEEDED – Slow to begin.

ROCKLEIGH – Became unbalanced when bumped by JIM ‘N’ ANDY near the 900m. Badly inconvenienced and carried wider on the home turn.

SEE THAT – Badly inconvenienced and carried wider on the home turn.

JETSONIC – Hung out badly from the 600m and shifted wider on the track. Trainer T. Gollan was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.


Race 4: Bert/Cip Shirley Joan White Cup 0-70 H'cap – 1660m

CABALLO RAPIDO – Had to be replated behind the barrier, resulting in a delay to the start.

SHADOW DOLL – Made the first turn awkwardly and got its head up.


Race 5: United Voice Queensland F&M Class 4 H'cap – 1200m

RAJAMANI – Slow to begin. Jockey G. Colless reported that the mare, which was wearing blinkers for the first time, hesitated when the gates opened. He added it was the intention to race up outside the lead.

LILY MY GIRL – Jockey M. Cahill reported it was anticipated that the mare would race more forward than it did today, however did not show its customary early speed and pulled hard in the middle stages. He added that when placed under pressure his mount proved disappointing and was of the view it did not handle the firm track conditions.

Race 6: CFMEU – M&E Qld Qtis 3yo H'cap – 1200m

FIVE SPICES – Laid in in the early stages and brushed the running rail for a considerable distance.

DANDY ONE – Overraced in the early stages.

DEAD SET JET – Checked shortly after straightening. G. Colless, rider of FIVE SPICES, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that just prior to straightening he shifted out causing DEAD SET JET to be checked. G. Colless was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence at midnight, 12 September and to expire at midnight, 21 September.

CUPCAKE WARRIOR – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had strained its off fore flexor tendon. Veterinary clearance required prior to next start.




Race 7: CFMEU Qld/NT Branch CG&E Class 4 H'cap – 1200m

DALINE - Apprentice S. Payne was fined $200 for failing to claim his full allowance.

TELEMORE – Slow into stride.

SOUTHERLY – Raced 3 wide from the 800m.

STORMY GREY – Raced 3 wide without cover.


Race 8: CBUS Super Stakes Class 3 H'cap – 1350m

GOOD JOB BRO – Connections advised that the gelding would be ridden midfield if circumstances permit. The horse subsequently raced in a rearward position. Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room near the 400m. Checked severely after leaving the 200m when disappointed for a run when FILLE ARDENTE shifted out marginally whilst weakening.

OCEANTES – Slow to begin.

MARASKA – After standing awkwardly in the barriers then bounded as the gates opened, resulting in jockey T. Bell almost being dislodged.

BERGDORF – Raced in restricted room near the 400m.

FILLE ARDENTE – Raced 3 wide without cover.
