Race 1: Herbert Smith Freehills F&M Class 6 H'cap – 1350m

COL ‘N’ LIL – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

NOTONYOURLIFE – Overraced in the middle stages.

TOTAL AUTHORITY – Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.

ADORABUBBLE – Brushed by another runner near the 200m.

SPRING ROSE – Raced wide without cover.


Race 2: Tyremil CG&E Class 6 H'cap – 1350m

BEST OF THE REST – Jumped away awkwardly. Bumped inside the 100m. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted in the early stages, apprentice A. Fancourt stated that her instructions were to push forward on the gelding however it was not her intention to lead. She added when unable to find a position behind the leaders she elected to allow BEST OF THE REST to stride forward and race outside the leader BECKHAM. The explanation was noted.

BECKHAM – Shifted out under pressure inside the 100m and made contact with another runner.

GID UP STROP – Jockey J. Byrne was fined .. for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.


Race 3: Best Security QTIS 3yo H'cap – 1200m

DANDY ONE – Jumped away awkwardly and made contact with another runner. Inconvenienced when tightened for room approaching the 200m.

LA DOLCE VITA – Bumped on jumping away. Hampered passing the 1000m when tightened for room between runners. Taken wider near the 800m. Lost its near fore plate in running.

SECRET SAGA - Bumped on jumping away.

JETSONIC – Commenced to overrace near the 1000m. Shifted out near the 900m taking another runner wider. Hung out after leaving the 700m. Trainer T. Gollan was advised that the horse must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start due to its racing manners.

CHICA PEEPS – Got its head up when being restrained after leaving the 1000m.


Race 4: McGrath Ascot Open H'cap – 2200m

KEEP COOL – Examined by the veterinary surgeon on arrival at the course and cleared to start.

ROCK THE PAC – Jumped away awkwardly.

PUNTA NORTE – Jumped away awkwardly. Shifted in near the winning post on the first occasions when pulling hard and brushed the running rail. Jockey M. Cahill reported that, in his opinion, his mount did not run out a strong 2200m.

SLIVOVITZ – Raced wide without cover in the early stages and was allowed to stride forward and position outside the leader near the 1300m.

COLLAR – Pulled hard after leaving the 1600m.

POP ‘N’ SCOTCH – Held up for clear running near the 300m.

LOCK’S LEGEND – Laid in under pressure in the straight.



Race 5: Cardno Open H'cap – 1200m

CHOICE BRO – Pulled hard in the early stages and shifted out to avoid heels near the 950m.

ARCHITECT – Had to be steadied away from heels near the 1000m. Jockey T. Harrison, rider of DIDNTCOSTALOT, was advised to exercise more care in future when shifting ground.

KEMPELLY – Raced wide without cover.

LADY ECHELON - A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the off foreleg. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to its next race start. Connections informed stewards that the horse would now be retired.

SALUTER – Jockey J. Byrne reported his mount was making an abnormal breathing noise during the race. Lost its near fore plate in running. A post race veterinary examination of revealed the horse to be lame in the near foreleg and had a slow recovery rate. . Connections were advised that gelding must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.


Race 6: Ingal Civil Products Class 6 Plate - 1050m

SKIP COURSE – Examined by the veterinary surgeon on arrival at the track and passed fit to start.

BEARSKIN – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

LONDEHERO – Taken wider on the home turn.

CHARGE ACCOUNT – Held up rounding the home turn.

SAMMI JAIN – Had to be steadied away from the heels of VIENNA QUEEN approaching the 1000m. A. Fancourt, rider of VIENNA QUEEN, was advised to exercise more care in future when shifting ground. Held up rounding the home turn.

VIENNA QUEEN – Held up rounding the home turn.

PAYBACK – Raced wide without cover.

STRAIGHT GOLD – Raced wide without cover.


Race 7: SQS Haulage Benchmark 75 H'cap – 1200m

MORE OF THE ZAIM – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. Making the home turn brushed the running rail and lost ground when tightened for room. R. Fradd, rider of WEARING WINGS, was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in on the home when not fully clear of another runner.


QUICKSILVER LASS – Jumped away awkwardly.

KUDERO – Overraced in the early stages and shifted out after leaving the 800m and continued to overrace for some distance.

TAILS OF FASHION - Momentarily held up and had to be steadied near the 100m to avoid heels and was then held up over the concluding stages.

SARISARA – Held up momentarily near the 300m for clear running, and again held up near the 100m.

MANA MANU – Raced wide without cover.

REDWOLF – Raced wide without cover.


Race 8: Secutor Securities Benchmark 75 H'cap – 1600m

HLUDOWIG – Clipped the heels of another runner shortly after the start and blundered.

GRAPPA BRANDY – Raced wide without cover until near the 600m.

ROCBOLT – Had to be checked to avoid heels approaching the 300m.

LUCKY LUCRE – Shifted out near the 250m and made contact with the hind quarters of another runner. Had to be checked near the 200m when tightened for room between runners. B. Appo, rider of ARCTIC, was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift out initially when not fully clear, and M. McGillivray, rider of QUICK SNITZEL was also reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift out taking ARCTIC wider.
