ONE GOLDEN DAY – Hampered shortly after the start when tightened for room.

SHE’S A FOXY LADY – Raced wide without cover throughout.

SHADOW QUEEN – Raced wide throughout.

App L. Dittman pleaded guilty to a charges of careless riding in that he allowed his mount to shift in near the 1000m when not sufficiently clear of DANGEROUS DESIRE, resulting in its rider having to take hold and lose its position. App Dittman’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of twelve (12) days to commence midnight 24 October 2015 and expire midnight 5 November 2015.

Race 2: Gormans Removals Open H'Cap - 1050m

ARCHITECT – After being kicked behind the barriers was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Hung in under pressure in the straight.

MAGNUS LAD – Bumped on jumping away and had to be steadied away from heels passing the 800m.

Following the running of this race the track was upgraded to a Good 3.

Race 3: Rainbow Beach Hotel Open H’Cap - 1640m

CASARATI – Passing the 1200m App J. Orman was struck on the body by a dislodged plate.

BEATNIKS – Held up approaching the home turn.

FERMENT – Inconvenienced shortly after the start by EIGHT’S A PARTY. Jockey B. Stewart was reprimanded.

EIGHT’S A PARTY – Jockey B. Stewart could offer no explanation for the poor performance. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from a slight case of the thumps and had sustained a laceration to the inside of the near fore cannon.

MY QUILTER - Lost an off fore plate in running.

Race 4: Brisbane Anti Wrinkle & Skin Studios QTIS 3YO H'Cap - 1350m

RED MAGIC – As App C. Schmidt was injured stewards permitted App B. Stower to be substituted as the rider. Passing the 800m raced ungenerously and hung out.

GRESELIN – Raced wide without cover throughout.

App. A. Fancourt (CHICA PEEPS) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that she allowed her mount to shift in near the 1000m when not sufficiently clear of LOFN, which had to be checked to avoid heels. App Fancourt’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 12 days to commence midnight 17 October 2015 and expire midnight 29 October 2015.

COUNT ROMANO – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Hampered near the 600m. Near the 500m was tightened for room between runners.

TINTS – Hampered near the 600m. App L. Dittman reported that the mare was under pressure after leaving the 800m and may have come to the end of its preparation.

App L. Tarrant (TIME’S UP) was severely reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift out approaching the 600m causing tightening to runners to his outside. App Tarrant stated the gelding failed to finish the race off, which he attributed to not running out a strong 2200m.

TANGARA – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.

OUTSTRIP – Lost an off hind plate in running.

ROCK THE PAC – Trainer L. Gough was questioned regarding the improved performance of the gelding compared to its last start at Doomben on 26 September 2015. Mr Gough stated on that occasion the gelding was ridden similarly and was only beaten by some 5 lengths in a strong class and was confident today of an improved performance.

Race 6: Fire Boar NMW H'Cap - 1050m

REAL FAVULOUS – Late scratching at 12.40 p.m. by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice after the gelding was injured en route to the course.

SKY MISSION – Pulled hard in the middle stages.

ONE DIRECTION – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

Jockey B. Stewart (WINGED WARRIOR) pleaded guilty to a charges of careless riding in that he allowed his mount to improve to the inside of the heels of the tiring PUNJAB ROCKET approaching the 400m and after being brushed by that runner shifted in causing SKY MISSION to be checked. Jockey Stewart’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 16 days to commence midnight 24 October 2015 and expire midnight 9 November 2015. In assessing penalty stewards took into account this was jockey Stewart’s sixth suspension for careless riding since May 2015.

ANY DAY WILL DO, HARDLINE and SARISARA all inconvenienced approaching the first turn.
Inquiry into the incident to be adjourned until later in the week.

HARDLINE – Jockey D. Browne stated that the gelding never travelled well after suffering interference coming to the first turn and was immediately under pressure. Jockey Browne added that the gelding did not respond to his riding in the straight and as a result he did not persist in riding it out to the line. Jockey Browne further stated that on one previous occasion when receiving interference the gelding did not respond. Trainer L. Birchley informed stewards that the gelding had worked well leading up to today’s event and could not offer any excuse for the disappointing performance. Mr Birchley undertook to report back to stewards should anything be amiss with the gelding. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
