GENERAL

As jockey P. Hammersley was injured stewards permitted rider changes as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

Race 1: Tiland Constructions Pty Ltd OMW H'Cap – 2200m

OUTSTRIP – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn and had difficulty obtaining clear running until the 200m. Held up over the concluding stages.

SPACE INVADER – Held up rounding the home turn.

KURRAJONG DRAGON – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight.

ALLZIN – Raced wide throughout.


Race 2: TH Cock Electrical & Communications QTIS 2YO Fillies H’Cap -1050 m

CANDIKA – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

MY LUCKY DIAMOND – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be shin sore. Trainer R. Heathcote advised the filly would now be sent for a spell.

MARGO MAREE – Slow to begin. Hampered shortly after the start by another runner.

HAPPY EVENT – Bumped on jumping away.

FALLEN FOR YOU – Hung out after leaving the 800m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be shin sore. Trainer L. Ross advised the filly would now be sent for a spell.


Race 3: Mount Alvernia College Open H'Cap - 1615m

GRAYSON SQUARE – Slow to begin. Pulled hard when racing wide in the early stages.

PALMERA LAD – Slow to begin. Held up in the early stages of the home straight.

TERONADO – Shifted in and bumped another runner near the 600m.

BEATNIKS – Bumped by another runner near the 600m. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the straight. Shifted off hind plate in running.


Race 4: Aitkenvale Family Health Centre Open H'Cap - 1110m

GUNDY SPIRIT – Got its off hind leg up on the partition prior to the start being effected, was removed, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.

Following the running of this race the track was upgraded to a Good 4 retrospective.


Race 5: Weareco QTIS 3YO H'Cap - 1350m

ROWDY ONE – Slow to begin.

HESITATION – Making the first turn had to be steadied away from heels.

ATOMIC PLAYBOY – Jockey J. Lloyd reported that the saddle shifted back shortly after the start.

RICH TRADITION – App L. Tarrant reported that his mount hung out throughout the race.

ROTHBURY – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be making an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer T. McCarthy was advised that the results of an endoscopic examination would be required prior to the gelding racing again.


Race 6: Hillross Montefiore & Co Colts, Geldings & Entire Class 6 H'Cap - 1200m

HANDYMAN BOB was declared a late scratching at 1.35 p.m. by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice. Trainer G. Wehlow was advised that a veterinary clearance must be produced prior to the gelding racing again.

NEPTUNE PALACE – Trainer D. Bougoure was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding regarding its pre race manners after it was reluctant to proceed to the barriers.

DREAM OF SLIPS – Slow to begin. When questioned regarding the gelding’s disappointing performance App M. McGillivray stated his mount travelled well until placed under pressure in the early stages of the straight and did not respond to his riding.

TOP TONE – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. Jockey A. Erhart was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out to the finish of the race.

SWEET SERENDIPITY – A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities and a swab sample was taken.


Race 7: Padua College Fillies & Mares Clas 6 H'Cap - 1200m

GIRLS COMMAND – Slow to begin.

TINA MELINA – Slow to begin. Inclined to lay in during the middle stages.

FRILLY CURTAIN – Slow to begin.

NARDOO – Near the 200m had to steady, alter course and did not obtain clear running for the remainder of the event.

NOTONYOURLIFE – Held up for clear running from the 200m.


Race 8: Rochele Painting NMW H'Cap - 1350m

POWER RECEIVER – Trainer A. Parramore was fined $100.00 for the late declaration of App K. Stanley as the rider.

HOMEHILL – Reared on jumping away.

SILIQUA – Checked near the 300m when tightened for room between runners. Jockey K. Wharton reported that whilst his mount suffered interference near the 300m he was at that time under pressure and his mount did not finish the race off.

POWER RECEIVER – When tiring was taken out by another runner near the 300m. Raced wide without cover throughout.

App C. Schmidt the rider of SIGMUND was reprimanded for permitting her mount to shift out off heels near the 300m when not fully clear of other runners.

MAGIC DALLAS – Jockey D. Browne dropped the off side rein close to the line.
