Race 1: NOVOTEL BRISBANE AIRPORT QTIS 2YO C&G H’CAP – 1050M

BURN NOTICE – Began awkwardly. Overraced in the early stages.

BOOM SHUCKA – Hung out when placed under pressure leaving the 300m and continued to do so for the remainder of the event.

GUINIGI PRINCE – Overraced in the early stages.

SIR PLUCKA – Overraced in the early stages.

TISANI GREY – Began awkwardly. Raced greenly throughout the event and lost ground near the 800m. Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.

Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to GOOD 4.

 
Race 2: BRISBANE MARRIOTT HOTEL OPEN H’CAP – 2200M

PERPLEXITY – J. Lloyd was fined $300 for using the whip more than 5 times in a forehand manner prior to the 100m.

QUICK SNITZEL – R. Wiggins was fined $200 for using the whip more than 5 times in a forehand manner prior to the 100m.

OUTSTRIP – Fractious in the barriers. Slow to begin.

Race 3: BECOME A BRC MEMBER CLASS 6 PLATE – 1350M

BUSHY – Fractious in the barriers. Slow to begin.

SKIP TOWN – Held up for clear running in the early part of the straight.

TRUBIA – Hung out rounding the home turn.

ANY DAY WILL DO – Had to be steadied near the 1100m when SHEISWHATSHEIS (T. Harrison) shifted in. T. Harrison was advised to show greater care when shifting ground.

CHARLIE CAT – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have slight heat stress. Trainer B. Guy advised stewards that the gelding will now be sent for a spell.

TEAR GAS – The veterinary surgeon reported that the mare bled from the nearside nostril. Trainer J. Thompson was advised that the horse must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward before being permitted to race again.

Race 4: CHRISTMAS PARTIES AT THE RACES CLASS 6 PLATE – 1050M

TISANI TOMSO – Bumped at the start. Overraced in the middle stages and shifted out near the 700m. Hampered when tightened for room between runners near the 200m. Shifted out to obtain clear running near the 100m.

DANTGA – Slow to begin. Raced three wide without cover throughout the event. Bumped near the 300m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

BRITAILA KATE – Slow to begin. Checked near the 650m when tightened for room. Had to be checked from heels near the 100m when NATURAL DANCER shifted out and away from another runner.

NATURAL DANCER – Bumped at the start. Shifted out and away from another runner near the 100m. When questioned, apprentice B. Appo reported that his instructions were to lead or be close to the lead, however the mare raced ungenerously when crossed by other runners and proved difficult to ride throughout the event, and near the 650m shifted out despite his efforts.

MARSHAL – T. Harrison was advised to exercise care for permitting her mount to shift ground near the 200m and tighten another runner.

Race 5: KEVIN TANCHEVSKI MUSH 2 MUSH 0MW H’CAP – 1650M

GLENDARA – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages. Apprentice M. McGillivray reported at scale that he had difficulty restraining the gelding in the early and middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off foreleg, consistent with being galloped on.

O’REILLY’S REVENGE – Raced three wide without cover.

BILLY GOAT – A post-race veterinary examination revealed slight soreness in the off foreleg.

CHILLIN WITH DYLAN – Slow to begin.

NICKED AND COURT – Raced ungenerously in the early stages.

RED CENT – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.

TIGERISH – Slow to begin. Had to alter course to obtain clear running near the 200m.

REGAL TRADER – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

ATARARTZI – G. Colless reported that his saddle shifted back on jumping away and near the 600m his mount became awkward to the inside of another runner.

Race 6: ROWLATT BUCK SHOW 2MW H’CAP – 1200M

FINAL CRESCENDO – Forced wider on the track approaching the 700m and obliged to race three wide from that point onwards. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

FELTRE – Shifted out to obtain clear running approaching the 700m and forced another runner wider on the track.

CHARGE ACCOUNT – Inclined to lay in near the 800m and bumped another runner.

LUCKY TOM – Bumped by another runner near the 800m and blundered.

Race 7: TWILIGHT RACE DAY 4TH DECEMBER OPEN H’CAP – 1350M

BEWHATYOUWANNABE – Raced three wide without cover.

HI SON – Raced wide throughout.

AIMEE – Apprentice A. Fancourt accidentally dropped her whip near the 50m.

TAIL AND ALL – Lost its near hind plate in running.

Following the running of this race, after a brief storm had passed, the track was downgraded to SOFT 5.

Race 8: HAMILTON HOTEL 3YO H’CAP – 1200M

BIG TREE – Raced wide in the early stages. Attempted to shift out for some distance approaching and rounding the home turn to obtain clear running, making contact with another runner. M. Cahill was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.

SHADOW LAWN – Raced wide for the majority of the event. R. Wiggins reported that his mount overraced in the early stages and only finished the race off fairly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

TARZAN – Began awkwardly and shifted in, bumping another runner.

IN HIS STRIDE – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Bumped rounding the home turn and forced wider.

CATENACCIO – Slow to begin.

DE LAGO JET – Began awkwardly and shifted out, bumping another runner.

MOONLIGHT RAIN – T. Harrison reported that in her opinion her mount did not handle the soft conditions today and may be better suited by dropping back in class.

OPINIONATED – Raced wide throughout.

EIGHT BELOW – Slow to begin. Had to be steadied to avoid the heels of CATENACCIO which shifted out near the 200m to obtain clear running. Apprentice M. McGillivray, the rider of CATENACCIO, was severely reprimanded and advised to show greater care.
