Race 1: Sky Racing QTIS 2yo H'cap – 1050m

EMTEVEE QUEEN – Slow to begin. Steadied from heels near the 500m. Shifted out abruptly to obtain clear running approaching the 300m and inside the 300m made contact with another runner.

SPOT THE DIFF – Bumped by another runner near the 1000m. Brushed by another runner inside the 300m. When questioned regarding the performance, apprentice L. Dittman explained that the horse did not muster its customary speed from the barrier today and, in his opinion, will be better suited over further distance than that of today’s event. A post race veterinary examination revealed an abrasion on the outside of the off foreleg.

SWEET SAVANNAH – Inclined to hang out in the middle stages.

RIVER RACER – Had to be steadied to avoid heels near the 700m. Steadied from heels near the 500m.

GOLDEN DEPART – Raced greenly throughout and near the 500m had to be steadied when tightened for room.

DONT DOUBT DA WIFE – Raced wide without cover. Lost its near hind plate in running.

RAINY DAY WOMAN – Jockey N. Seymour was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out to the end of the race.


Race 2: Club 100 Benchmark 75 H'cap – 2200m

INIQUITY – Checked from the heels of another runner near the 600m.

MULLET MAN – Pulled hard in the early and middle stages.

GRAPPA BRANDY – Broke down near the 700m and shifted out abruptly, resulting in a number of runners which were following having to be checked at this stage. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had broken down in the near foreleg and was euthanased on humane grounds.

MR ANDRE – Raced wide in the early stages. Checked near the 700m.

ANNAMAN – Severely checked near the 700m and taken wider on the track.

MR LEBROCK – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages and was allowed to stride forward from the 1500m. Severely checked near the 700m and taken wider on the track.

ROCK THE PAC – When the tempo was slow, jockey D. Browne allowed his mount to stride forward from the 1200m. Forced wider near the 700m.

VALTARI – Held up approaching the home turn for clear running.

CHILLIN WITH DYLAN – Held up approaching the home turn.


Race 3: Mitty’s QTIS 3yo H'cap – 1110m

PRINCESS CHARM – Slow to begin.

SOLD FOR SONG – Jumped away awkwardly. Obliged to alter course approaching the 100m when awkwardly placed at the heels of another runner.

MOST IMPORTANT – Shifted in and bumped another runner on jumping away.

HIGH COST – Bumped on jumping away.

STAR STRIDER – Overraced in the early stages when being restrained.

MY COUSIN RHETT – Held up rounding the home turn and had difficulty obtaining clear running until passing the 200m.

MY GIRL HAYLEY – Raced wide without cover throughout.

FOXY WALK – Raced wide throughout. Apprentice A. Fancourt reported that her mount may have jarred up on the firm surface today.

Race 4: The Blue Ribbon Group Benchmark 80 H'cap – 1110m

VIENNA QUEEN – Declared a late scratching at 7.50 am on veterinary advice.

ESPIRITU – Jumped away awkwardly. Held up rounding the home turn.

COURT MARTIAL MISS – Jumped away awkwardly.

TISANI TOMSO – Pulled hard in the early and middle stages. A post race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the near foreleg. Trainer K. Kemp will be advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided for the horse prior to its next race start.

SELFIE – Had to be restrained from heels passing the 600m.

MYWAYORTHEHIGHWAY – Hampered when tightened for room near the 100m.

TREATMELIKEALADY – Bumped near the 100m.

DANTGA – When questioned, jockey M. Bennett was unable to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance. Jockey M. Bennett was fined $200 for using his whip more than 5 times in a forehand manner prior to the 100m and in a consecutive stride.


Race 5: Matthews Builders NMW (This Year) H'cap – 1350m

As J. Orman was dually engaged on SPATHA and SAINT HUGO, B. Appo was substituted as the rider of SAINT HUGO.

CROOKED STICK – Tightened for room shortly after the start.

BELANNORO – Had to be restrained away from heels approaching the 800m.

ABU BEN ADAM – Raced wide without cover.

JUSTTHEWAYYOUARE – Held up rounding the home turn.

Race 6: Zetta 1 Mode Plate – 3yo Fillies – 1200m

ST REMY – Slow to begin.

NILETTE – Had to be restrained off heels when the pace steadied near the 800m.

LA DOLCE VITA - Had to be restrained off heels when the pace steadied near the 800m.

BANDA SPICE – After leaving the 600m had to be steadied away from heels.

THE WANTED CLUB – Raced wide without cover.


Race 7: Channel 7 George Moore Stakes Group 3 – 1200m

FELTRE – Slow to begin. Jockey R. Wiggins was cautioned and advised to ensure he rides his mounts right out to the end of race.

LE VAL – Slow to begin. Momentarily steadied away from heels inside the 200m.

TOP TONE – Pulled hard in the early stages.

ARCHITECT – Raced wide without cover.

MISS COVER GIRL – A post race veterinary examination revealed it to be short in its action in the off foreleg. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to its next race start.

NEO – A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse was lame in the off foreleg and slightly sore on carpal flexion. Connections will be advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to its next race start.


Race 8: Twilight Raceday Benchmark 75 H'cap – 1615m

ELEMENT OF CHANCE – A pre-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration on its forehead and not lame. The horse was cleared to start.

HOMEHILL – Change of tactics. Connections advised the gelding will be ridden back in the field from the wide barrier if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly.

LORD COCONUTS – Slow to begin.

TAIL AND ALL – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out and bumped another runner. An inquiry was opened into T. Wolfgram’s riding, particularly the reason he left a trailing position near the 800m and rode forward from that point. After taking evidence from apprentice Wolfgram and trainer Mr R. Heathcote, the matter was adjourned to allow stewards to look at comparable sectional times over a mile at Doomben and other aspects of the race.

COMACINA – Bumped on jumping away. Unable to improve from the 600m until the entrance to the home straight when awkwardly placed at the heels of another runner.

SEA RED – Prevented from improving its position when taken in by another runner approaching the 600m.

HOMEHILL – Jumped away awkwardly. Held up approaching the 200m and unable to improve approaching the 100m.

ELEMENT OF CHANCE - Had to be steadied near the 50m when crowded by BENTLES (A. Fancourt). A. Fancourt was reprimanded.

KISS ME DEADLY – Rider dropped whip near the 250m.

SHEISWHATSHEIS – Crowded near the 400m. Apprentice T. Wolfgram, rider of TAIL AND ALL was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that he permitted his mount to shift in near the 400m when insufficiently clear of KISS ME DEADLY, which was taken inwards, tightening the racing room of SHEISWHATSHEIS and crowding that horse onto the running rail, resulting in it have to be steadied out of its rightful running. T. Wolfgram was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 10 days, to commence at midnight, 5 December and to expire at 15 December. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
