Race 1: Mary Valley Farm QTIS 2YO H'Cap - 1350m

VENETIAN BEAUTY – Trainer P. Duff advised the horse would be ridden more aggressively today if circumstances permit. Slow to begin and unable to muster any early speed and as a result raced at the rear of the field. Mr Duff advised the horse would now be sent for a spell.

ROYAL TITHE – Knuckled on jumping away.

DAME FINE – Raced greenly in the early and middle stages. Near the 300m checked away from heels and shifted in abruptly.

RUBY REMEDY – After leaving the 1000m raced greenly when being restrained off heels. A post race veterinary examination of the filly, which finished a distant last, revealed it to be suffering from cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer S. Rundle was advised that a veterinary clearance, including the results of an ECG must be produced and the filly must trial satisfactorily prior to its next start.

Race 2: Ordanga Construction Services OMW H'Cap - 1350m

The start was delayed when LUCKY BLACK shifted a near hind plate en route to the barriers. After being replated and examined by the veterinary surgeon the gelding was cleared to start.
BENTLES – Bumped on jumping away and lost ground.

UNBOWED – Slow to begin.

SAMBUCA SHOT – Near the 800m had to steady away from heels. D. Browne (LUCKY BLACK) was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had been galloped on the near hind leg and had sustained a laceration to the outside heel.

KALANDULA – Had to steady off heels inside the 100m.

TENNESSEE HUSSY – Shifted out abruptly under pressure over the concluding stages.

OLD SMOKEY – Had to be steadied close to the finishing line.

CHARIOT OF GOLD - Had to be steadied close to the finishing line.


Race 3: Hotel La Open H'Cap - 1350m

MISHANI WARRIOR – Raced wide from the 800m.

LOCK’S LEGEND – Laid in under pressure in the straight.


Race 4: Redcliffe Rabbits Racing Benchmark 75 H'Cap - 2200m

SILENTO – Trainer R. Heathcote advised the horse would be ridden back in the field today if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly. Passing the winning post on the first occasion the gelding got its head up when being restrained. Near the 600m had to be checked away from heels.

VODNIK – Rounding the home turn was held up for clear running.

GLORIOUS SINNDAR – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be sore in the near fore fetlock. Trainer K. Lees was advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to the gelding racing again.

App C. Schmidt the rider of ANTON EN AVANT was fined $300.00 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.

SURFACE TENSION – When questioned regarding the improved performance trainer G. Duncan stated that the only explanation he could offer was that the gelding was stepping up in distance from its previous starts over 1800m.


Race 5: OJ Kitchens & Joinery Benchmark 75 H’Cap - 1050m

SAY I WON’T - Restless in the tie-up stalls, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.
NATURAL DANCER – Slow to begin.

ANOTHER WHISKEY – Jockey G. Colless reported his mount jumped a divot near the 700m and became unbalanced.

PASSATORIO – Jockey D. Browne reported at scale that his mount was inclined to hang out in the middle stages and hampered PANDORA CHARM on a number of occasions.

PANDORA CHARM – Hampered on a number of occasions in the middle stages.

SONY LEGEND – Raced wide without cover throughout.

TAHOE CITY - Raced wide without cover throughout.

RED BOWERS - Raced wide without cover throughout.


Race 6: McGahan Electrical QTIS 3YO H’Cap - 1110m

As P. Hammersley was overweight stewards permitted E. Wilkinson to be substituted as the rider of AROUND THE MOON. Jockey Hammersley was fined $200.00.

CRAIGLEA DEKEN - Slipped in the tie-up stalls, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.

CRAIGLEA WANDOO - Got its off hind leg up on the barrier partition, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Began awkwardly.

CELLYSE – Slow to begin. Approaching the 600m when being restrained had to checked away from heels.

OBERLAND – Approaching the 600m had to be checked away from heels when being restrained. Raced wide without cover throughout.

DEAD SET JET – Lost an off fore plate in running.


Race 7: Austcover Class 6 Plate - 1630m

MISS HUSSON – Slow to begin.

WATERFRONT – Jumped awkwardly and bumped another runner.

LA SPIAGGIA – Jumped very awkwardly. App M. McGillivray reported that the gelding travelled well until placed under pressure in the straight and was of the opinion that there may be something amiss with the gelding. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.

ZIMBALI – Bumped on jumping away. Held up for clear running from the 200m until near the 100m.

LAUTERBRUNNEN – Bumped on jumping away.

MISHANI STEALTH – App C. Dell reported that the saddle shifted back shortly after the start placing him at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event. Overraced in the middle stages. App C. Bell was reprimanded for using his whip in consecutive strides on more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

ROCK ON IVY – Raced wide in the early stages and was allowed to stride forward and take up a position outside the leader near the 800m.

TRACEY’S ANGEL – Held up for clear running from the 300m until the 100m.

STEAMIN’ – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have been galloped on the off fore leg resulting in a laceration to the outside of the knee.


Race 8: Mater Dei P&F OMW – Last Year H'Cap - 1200m

VIENNA ROYALE – Slow to begin.

DENARIUS – Bumped shortly after the start. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

DECONSTRUCTED – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

TAN TAT DIAMOND – Held up for clear running near the 200m.

BECKHAM – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

VOODOO BLUE MAGIC – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. App J. Orman reported that in his opinion there was something amiss with the gelding. Trainer L. Ross will be interviewed.
