Race 1: Swire Shipping Class 6 Plate – 1110m
 
MARSCAY FORCE - Became fractious and reared in the swabbing stall area, was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to race.  Raced wide throughout.
 
LADY DUPORTH – Jumped in at the start and bumped another runner. Near the 400m became unbalanced when bumped by another runner.
 
FREQUENDLY – Bumped at the start.  Raced wide without cover throughout. 
 
TREVINDER – Slow to begin.  When questioned regarding the performance jockey D. Browne stated that from the wide barrier he was obliged to restrain to secure cover.  Jockey Browne added that the gelding then overraced in the early and middle stages, which in his opinion had a detrimental affect on its overall performance.
 
HONOUR ‘N’ STRENGTH – Slow to begin.
 
LE CHEF – Bucked for a stride shortly after the start.  Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
PRIMED FOR DESTINY – Tightened for room shortly after the start.
 
STELLA OMBRA – Overraced in the middle stages.  Held up rounding the home turn.
 
BETTER LAND - Near the 400m became unbalanced when bumped by another runner.
 
 
Race 2: Ambassador Travel Benchmark 85 H’Cap – 1350m
 
KUZNETSOVA – Slow to begin.  Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
MURVATE – Slow to begin.  Approaching the 800m had to be steadied away from heels. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had suffered a bleeding attack during the event.  Trainer G. Yorke was advised the gelding will incur the mandatory 3 month ban from racing and must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward before racing again.
 
PAYROLL – Slow to begin.  Approaching the 700m had to be steadied away from heels and a short distance later continued to be restrained and shifted out taking TIME TO TORQUE out onto ROUND MOUNTAIN GAL.
 
TIME TO TORQUE – Slow to begin.  Severely hampered near the 700m.  Near the 150m after being brushed became unbalanced.
 
DON’T TELL MAMA – Jumped away awkwardly.  Near the 150m shifted in and brushed another runner.
 
PRIVLAKA – Overraced in the early and middle stages and near the 800m shifted out abruptly.
 
EL CAMPEADOR – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Lost a near hind plate in running.
 
BINALONG ROAD – Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
SHARPE HUSSLER – Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
ROUND  MOUNTAIN GAL – Became unbalanced and turned inwards near the 700m.  Raced wide for the majority. A post race veterinary examination of the mare, which finished a distant last, revealed no abnormalities.
 
Following showers the track was downgraded to a Soft 7 after this event.
 
 
Race 3: Singapore Turf Club Members’ (Listed) H’Cap – 1600m
 
CHIVADAHLII – Slow to begin.
 
SEBRINA – Raced wide throughout.
 
BEATNIKS – Raced wide throughout. Jockey P. Hammersley reported that the mare travelled well however, was of the opinion that BEATNIKS had not appreciated backing up 2 weeks in a row. A post race veterinary examination of the mare revealed no abnormalities.
 
PUNTA NORTE – Jockey M. Cahill reported at scale that he could offer no excuses for the disappointing performance. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormalities.

 
Race 4: Moet & Chandon Champagne Classic (Group 2) – 1200m
 
The start was delayed when OURS TO KEEP broke through the barriers and cantered for a short distance.  The colt was subsequently examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. 
 
SHOWASHADOW – Slow to begin.
 
NOBLE HUSSLER – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
SNITZKRAFT – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped another runner.  Raced wide from the 700m. Jockey L. Dittman reported at scale that in his opinion his mount failed to handle the track conditions today.  Lost a near fore plate in running.
 
ITALIA BELLA – Bumped at the start.  Shifted in slightly approaching the first turn tightening runners to its inside.
 
SHE’S OUR STAR – Approaching the 800m when being steadied the filly got its head up and raced ungenerously, shifted out and had to be checked off the heels of OURS TO KEEP. As a consequence SNITZKRAFT was forced to race wide without cover.
 
ALL TOO HUIYING – Shifted in approaching the first turn tightening runners to its inside. Raced in restricted room near the 500m. 
 
COOROI CHASE – Jockey M. Hellyer reported the filly hung out rounding the 800m turn.
 
TANGLED -  Raced wide for the majority.
 
HOLBROOK – Approaching the first turn was tightened for room by runners to its outside.
 
PAH TERIE - Approaching the first turn was tightened for room by runners to its outside.
 
 
Race 5: Suez Queensland Day (Listed) Stakes – 1350m
 
The start was delayed when OINK got its hind leg up on the partition.  The veterinary surgeon positioned behind the barriers advised the starter that he was satisfied this occurrence was insignificant.
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow L. Dittman the rider of BILLY THE KID to view the patrol footage to ascertain whether he was afforded a fair start.  After taking evidence from jockey Dittman, trainer J. Meagher and the starter J. Roberts stewards declared BILLY THE KID a definite starter.  
 
BILLY THE KID – Got its head down prior to the start being effected and lost ground.
 
RUTHLESS AGENT – Slow to begin.  Raced wide throughout.
 
SMART DEVIL – Slow to begin.
 
SYLPHEED – Began awkwardly.
 
MORTON’S FORK – Bumped near the 1100m.  Near the 200m after racing in restricted room had to be steadied to avoid heels.  A veterinary examination revealed the colt was displaying a cough post race.
 
OINK – Raced wide throughout.
 
GREY STEYNE – Bumped near the 1100m.  Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
PRADA MISS – Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
 
Race 6: AQWA Constructions Chairman’s (Group 3) H’Cap – 2000m
 
EMERALD CITY was declared a late scratching at 1.52 p.m. by order of stewards after trainer D. Vandyke made application to scratch the gelding due to the downgrade of the track to a Soft 7.
 
Stewards adjourned an inquiry into the reasons why trainer E. Rayner failed to present the ID card for START WONDERING.
 
TESSASTOCK – Slow to begin.  A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be slightly sore behind the rump and coughed once.
 
KAISER FRANZ – After passing the 1600m, when racing wide without cover, was allowed to stride forward and position outside the leader near the 1200m.
 
ZAMBEZI WARRIOR – Near the 400m was momentarily tightened for room and had to steady away from heels.
 
AMEXED – Raced wide throughout.  Jockey R. Fradd reported that his mount dipped on a number of occasions in the straight.
 
CHOCANTE – Lost a near fore plate in running.
 
 
Race 7: James Boag’s Premium Doomben 10,000 (Group 1) – 1200m
 
TAKEDOWN – Trainer G. Moore advised the horse would be ridden further back in a midfield position today if circumstances permit.  The horse was ridden towards the tail of the field. Rounding the home turn had to be steadied when taken wider by another runner.
 
IN HER TIME – Had to be resaddled behind the barriers.  Raced wide throughout.  
 
REDZEL – Shifted wider on the track near the 1100m, resulting in MUSIC MAGNATE and RUSSIAN REVOLUTION having to be steadied. 
 
COUNTERATTACK – Rounding the home turn shifted out and bumped another runner.
 
FELL SWOOP – Bumped by another runner rounding the home turn. Raced wide throughout.
A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
MUSIC MAGNATE – Raced wide with cover throughout.  When questioned regarding the performance jockey J. Lloyd explained that when he rode the horse with cover in the early stages it had a tendency to overrace and he attempted to improve passing the 600m but was prevented from doing so by FELL SWOOP.  Following this MUSIC MAGNATE was disappointing in the home straight and jockey Lloyd added the mare was not entirely comfortable on today’s track conditions.  A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
THE MONSTAR – Near the 600m had to be steadied when tightened for room to the inside of FELL SWOOP, which shifted in slightly. Bumped rounding the home turn.  Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
REBEL DANE – Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
 
Race 8: Mittys Rough Habit (Group 3) Plate – 2000m
 
SHADOW VISION – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
PETER JOHN – Made the crossing awkwardly near the 1600m.  A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
SIDETRIP – Raced wide early and was allowed to stride forward to take up the lead near the 1400m.
 
BOUCHARD – After passing the 1600m was forced wider on the track.
 
ORDER AGAIN – Momentarily held up for clear running approaching the 1400m.  Near the 200m shifted in and bumped another runner.  Inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight.
 
VIOLATE – Raced wide from the 1200m.  Bumped near the 200m and became unbalanced.
 
HUNDRED – A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
