Race 1: Billy J Boutique QTIS 3YO Class 3 Handicap – 1050m
 
As B. Stewart was overweight stewards permitted R. Wiggins to be substituted as the rider of BEL’S BANNER. Jockey Stewart was fined $300.
 
LOVE YOU LUCY – Fractious in the gates prior to the start being effected. Passing the 600m raced greenly and had to be steadied away from heels. Checked outwards from the heels of TULLIO, which shifted out near the 350m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly had sustained lacerations to the near hind leg. Jockey J. Byrne (TULLIO) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a) in that shortly after entering the home straight he shifted his mount outwards when insufficiently clear, thereby shifting into the rightful running of LOVE YOU LUCY, which had to check outwards and as a result HOLDIN’ MY OWN was inconvenienced and had to be checked. Jockey Byrne’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of ten (10) days to commence midnight 14 November 2018 and expire midnight 24 November 2018. In assessing penalty stewards took into account jockey Byrne’s guilty plea, good record, the degree of carelessness and degree of interference.
 
PIZONIE – Knuckled on jumping. Laid inwards over the final 100m.
 
TULLIO – Slow into stride. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had sustained a laceration on the near fore pastern.
 
HOLDIN’ MY OWN – After passing the 900m got its head up and raced ungenerously when being restrained. Passing the 600m when overracing had to be steadied away from the heels of LOVE YOU LUCY. Checked off the heels of LOVE YOU LUCY shortly after entering the home   straight. After taking initial evidence regarding the riding of the filly in the early stages from trainer L. Ross and App C. Bayliss the matter was adjourned until a date and time to be fixed.
 
 
Race 2: Jim Beam Maiden Handicap – 1650m
 
HOLBROOK – Slow into stride.
 
ELLE OF A RUN – After passing the 1200m when being restrained to obtain cover got its head up and commenced to overrace.
 
BIG BUDS – Caught three wide in the early stages before being allowed to stride forward to a position outside the leader passing the 1100m.
 
ULTIMATE RING – Shortly after passing the 1100m when the pace slackened improved onto heels and had to be restrained.
 
Jockey M. Cahill (HOLBROOK) was fined $200 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a Good 4.
 
 
Race 3: Makers Mark Maiden Plate – 1350m
 
STRAWBERRY BLONDE – Slow to begin.
 
JOYMAKER – Slow to begin and then bumped on jumping. Laid outwards making the turn into the home straight.
 
RATIONALE – Began awkwardly. Hung in under pressure over the final 200m.
 
MOSS CHEVAL – Had a tendency to overrace whilst leading in the early and middle stages.
 
THOUGHT PROCESS – Passing the 300m had a tendency to lay in and raced greenly for a short distance.
 
MAY I SAY – After passing the 300m improved onto heels and was disappointed for a run and was then held up until passing the 200m.
 
 
Race 4: Canadian Club Class 2 Handicap – 1200m
 
CORONATION GLADE – Slow to begin. Near the 50m was momentarily inconvenienced when TOGA PICTA laid inwards.
 
HARDLY TOUCHED – Slightly hampered between runners shortly after the start.
 
AZIZ JAMIL COUREUR - Slightly hampered between runners shortly after the start.
 
TOGA PICTA – Hung out making the turn into the home straight.
 
CATALINA MISS – Laid outwards over the final 200m.
 
MOUNT PANORAMA – Suffered a bleeding attack during the event. Trainer J. Pengilly was advised that the gelding will incur a mandatory three month ban and must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward prior to racing again.
 
 
Race 5: Lexus Class 2 Handicap – 1200m
 
Trainer C. Anderson was fined $100 for the late declaration of App J. Murphy as the rider of JAYAQUA.
 
NEW HORIZONS – Began awkwardly.
 
ABERLADY – Shortly after the start had to be eased off the heels of JAYAQUA, which hung inwards.
 
JAYAQUA – Got its head up and overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
FEW TOO MANY – Passing the 800m had to be steadied away from heels.
 
FAOLAN – Had difficulty obtaining clear running over the final 400m.
 
VIENNA MOON – Raced three wide without cover in the lead throughout.
 
HANK SCORPIO – Lost the off fore plate in running.
 
 
Race 6: Furphy Class 2 Handicap – 1650m
 
CAPTAIN EYCHE – After passing the 1200m when overracing had to be steadied away from heels.
 
BILL THE CONQUEROR – Shortly after the start was slightly inconvenienced when PONYTALES shifted in.
 
ROTHFORD – Shortly after the start when being restrained got its head up and raced ungenerously for a short distance and then shifted three wide passing the 1300m to avoid heels and then remained three wide without cover.
 
KURUMBA – Raced three wide with cover after passing the 700m.
 
KEMSREY – Slightly inconvenienced rounding the home turn when SMART AS ATTACK shifted out to improve.
 
SMART AS ATTACK – Momentarily held up on the heels of CAPEOS  passing the 300m.
 
Jockey B. Stewart (PONYTALES) was fined $300 for returning to scale in excess of half a kilo over his declared weight.
Race 7: Ascot Green Benchmark 65 Handicap – 1050m
 
Trainer L. Gough was fined $100 for the late declaration of J. Lloyd as the rider of TAKES TIME.
 
MUDDY ROPE – Slow into stride. Then ridden forward to obtain a forward position three wide without cover.
 
TAKES TIME – Hampered between runners on jumping and lost ground. Laid in over the final 200m. Suffered a bleeding attack during the event. Trainer L. Gough was advised that the gelding will incur a mandatory three month ban and must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward prior to racing again.
 
STELLARCRAFT – Rounding the first turn at the 800m when being restrained got its head up and raced ungenerously for a short distance.
 
BRAT ATTACK – Inconvenienced approaching the 200m when FIONNLAGH laid outwards. Over the concluding stages was awkward on the heels of MUDDY ROPE, which shifted inwards.
 
FIONNLAGH – Laid outwards over the final 200m.
 
SNIPETRON - Suffered a bleeding attack during the event. Trainer R. Lyford was advised that the gelding will incur a mandatory three month ban and must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward prior to racing again.
 
OCEAN CITY – Suffered a bleeding attack during the event. As this was the second occasion the gelding had bled trainer R. Heathcote was advised that it will now incur a lifetime ban from racing in Australia.
 
 
Race 8: Chanel Seven Class 4 Handicap – 1350m
 
SUBSOLAR was declared a late scratching at 12.42 p.m. by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice.
 
JOHNNY WHITESOX – Fractious and reared prior to the start being effected. Jockey R. Maloney reported that the gelding pulled hard in the early and middle stages and failed to finish the race off.
 
RANCHO MONTOYA – Bumped on jumping. Had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 200m and 100m. Bumped over the concluding stages.
 
UMBERTO – Bumped on jumping.
 
IMPASSE – Laid outwards under pressure between the 200m and 100m.
 
JINX ‘N’ DRINX – Bumped over the concluding stages.
