Race 1: IBIS BRISBANE AIRPORT OPEN H’CAP – 2200M
 
VASSAL – Slow to begin after jumping away awkwardly.
 
MY GUILIANO – Connections advised that due to the lack of pace in the race the gelding would be ridden in a forward position if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly.
 
ESTIKHRAAJ – Held up and unable to improve from the 600m until approaching the 300m and then had difficulty obtaining complete clear running until near the 100m.
 
Race 2: NOVOTEL BRISBANE AIRPORT QTIS 2YO H’CAP – 1050M
 
EMBATTLED – Made contact with THE WILD ONE near the 900m. Overraced and proved difficult to settle between the 800m and the 500m. Became unbalanced over the concluding stages when bumped by MISHANI ROMANCE.
 
BUTTON PUSHER – Caught wide in the early stages and had to be taken back to obtain cover. Severely hampered near the 300m when THE WILD ONE shifted outwards after being bumped and carried outwards by OH FIVE GLORY. Laid inwards over the final 100m.
 
THE WILD ONE – Jumped outwards extremely awkwardly and in so doing shifted out, making contact with VALADYIUM. Became unbalanced when racing keenly near the 900m after making contact with MISHANI BLOSSOM, which was bumped outwards by EMBATTLED. Bumped and carried outwards by OH FIVE GLORY near the 300m.
 
BETTER THAN GOLD – Jumped away awkwardly and as a result made contact with WISHFILLY.
 
MISHANI BLOSSOM – Bumped on jumping. Became unbalanced near the 900m when bumped by THE WILD ONE. Raced three wide without cover.
 
OH FIVE GLORY – Shifted outwards and bumped THE WILD ONE near the 300m.
 
VALADYIUM – Bumped on jumping and then lost ground after being crowded on to the hind quarters of MISHANI BLOSSOM. Raced greenly in the middle stages.
 
WISHFILLY – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide throughout.
 
MISHANI ROMANCE – Hampered over the final 100m when BUTTON PUSHER laid inwards, resulting in it making contact with EMBATTLED.
 
Race 3: SUNFRESH LINEN QTIS 3YO H’CAP – 1350M
 
TIPPING – Slow into stride.
 
CHAMPAGNE GARDEN – Jumped away awkwardly. Bumped with BAREFOOT shortly after the start.
 
BAREFOOT – Bumped with CHAMPAGNE GARDEN shortly after the start. Held up from the 500m to the 300m.
 
ROSENDAHL RED – Raced wide throughout.
 
GRANDE DE LAGO – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
CRAFTY SPIRIT – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
QUANYIN – Commenced to race keenly near the 900m and had to be steadied off the heels of LIGHT UP THE ROOM.
 
Race 4: DIONYSIUS TRANSPORT CLASS 3 PLATE – 1630M
 
BRYNEICH – Caught four wide in the early stages before eventually working to the lead approaching the 1000m.
 
LOTA CREEK GOLD – Raced three wide from the 600m.
 
CAPEOS – Bumped on the hind quarters shortly after the start.
 
PETAIN – The veterinary surgeon reported that the gelding was slightly sore in the near fore heel post-race.
 
RANCHO MONTOYA – Slow into stride.
 
MYMMING – Crowded near the 300m between CAPEOS and LE DRAMA, which laid outwards when giving ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
PONYTALES – Made contact with CAPEOS shortly after the start. Held up for a short distance approaching the turn into the straight.
 
OMINECA – The veterinary surgeon reported that the gelding returned to the enclosure with blood in the offside nostril. Connections were advised that the horse would be required to perform satisfactorily over a 1000m gallop in the presence of a steward prior to racing again.
 
Race 5: LIMOSO R2G QTIS 3YO PLATE – 1050M
 
The start of this race was delayed when the near fore plate on BOOMSARA had to be refitted behind the barriers.
 
MITTERE – Raced four wide throughout.
 
TULLIO – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
SPIRIT’S CHOICE – Raced three wide throughout. Hung inwards for the majority of the home straight.
 
HOLDIN’ MY OWN – Jumped away awkwardly. Hampered when attempting to go forward shortly after the start when MITTERE rolled outwards.
 
Race 6: JOVAL WINE GROUP RATINGS BAND 0 – 70 H’CAP – 1110M
 
BARNSLEY – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
SPIRIT AND FIRE – Had to be checked when hanging inwards on to the running rail approaching the 500m.
 
PAPER TRADE – Slow to begin after jumping away extremely awkwardly.
 
LIPS ’N HIPS – Raced wide and was inclined to hang outwards throughout.
 
DON’T YOU KNOW HIM – Returned to the enclosure having lost both front plates.
 
Race 7: SKY RACING PAM O’NEILL CLASS 6 H’CAP – 1350M
 
TAWFIQ BOY – Slightly slow to begin. Disappointed for a clear run to the inside of LUCKY TOM approaching the 300m and thereafter had difficulty obtaining clear running for the majority of the straight.
 
OINK – Bumped heavily and became off balance shortly after making the turn into the home straight when QUEEN OF KINGSTON shifted outwards. M. McGuren, the rider of QUEEN OF KINGSTON, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that at that point he permitted his mount to shift out abruptly, making heavy contact with OINK. Jockey McGuren’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 11 days, to commence at midnight on Monday 19 November and expire at midnight on Friday 30 November 2018.
 
HINGUS ROSE – Raced wide throughout.
 
IMPASSE – Momentarily crowded making the turn into the home straight.
 
LUCKY TOM – Stewards permitted apprentice C. Frater-Hill to ride the gelding claiming only 2.5 kg of her 3 kg allowance. After considering apprentice Frater-Hill’s previous good record, stewards imposed a fine of $100 under AR. 92(12).
 
QUEEN OF KINGSTON – Shifted out shortly after making the turn into the home straight, bumping heavily with OINK.
 
READY FOR DANGER – Bumped on jumping. Lost ground when crowded for room shortly after the start.
 
ECKER ROAD – Bumped on jumping. Got its head up when racing keenly near the 900m.
 
Race 8: RADIO TAB KEITH NOUD QUALITY H’CAP – 1200M
 
MOST IMPORTANT – Checked inwards off the heels of I’M A RIPPA passing the 1000m. B. Stewart, the rider of I’M A RIPPA, was reprimanded and advised to show far greater care when shifting ground.
 
HI I’M BACK – Had to be eased off the heels of MOST IMPORTANT, which checked inwards passing the 1000m.
 
RINGO’S A ROCKSTAR – Had to be eased off the heels of HI I’M BACK passing the 1000m.
 
TEST THE WORLD – Eased off the heels of MOST IMPORTANT approaching the 1100m when that runner shifted in and away from I’M A RIPPA. Raced wide without cover throughout .
 
VICTOREM – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
Race 9: PULLMAN BRISBANE AIRPORT BENCHMARK 90 H’CAP – 1630M
 
TUMULTUOUS – Lost the near hind plate in running.
 
EMPHASIS – Got its head up when awkwardly placed at the heels of CAPITAL GAIN near the 900m.
 
CAPITAL GAIN – Crowded shortly after the start. Raced three wide from the 800m.
 
GLENDARA – Raced wide throughout.
 
CHILLIN WITH DYLAN – Slow to begin.
 
EL CAMPEADOR – Trainer T. Gollan advised that it would be the intention to have the horse ridden in a forward position if circumstances permit. The horse led.
 
DOUBLE SUPERLATIVE – When questioned regarding the gelding’s performance, jockey J. Orman stated that the horse had disappointed and failed to respond when placed under pressure. He added that in his opinion the gelding may be better suited if allowed to be ridden a little bit quieter in the early stages.
