SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
From Doomben 7.12.18: Apprentice C. Bayliss was fined $200 for leaving the course without permission.
 
Race 1: MOUNT FRANKLIN QTIS 2YO H’CAP – 1200M
 
CHAMPAGNE JET – Slow to begin after jumping away awkwardly. Overraced in the early stages. Laid outwards over the final 100m.
 
MISHANI DESIRE – Dislodged rider C. Gallagher in the parade ring. Underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and passed fit to race.
 
SOUTHERN SWING – Jumped away awkwardly. Overraced in the middle stages.
 
CABOCHON LIL – Slow to begin. Raced three wide from the 600m.
 
Race 2: COCA COLA BENCHMARK 70 H’CAP – 1350M
 
AUERBACH – Raced wide throughout. Laid in over the final 100m.
 
VAULTING AMBITION – Slow into stride.
 
ALL IMPORTANT – Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid inwards in the straight and passing the winning post raced extremely tight to the inside of SMUG SATISFACTION and AUERBACH, which shifted inwards.
 
JINX ‘N’ DRINX – Bumped when racing tight to the inside of LULU EXPRESS and MAKE A RULER near the 1100m. Bumped passing the 600m.
 
LULU EXPRESS – Bumped on jumping. Buffeted when racing tight between JINX ‘N’ DRINK and MAKE A RULER near the 1100m.
 
MAKE A RULER – Raced keenly in the middle stages. Made contact with JINX ‘N’ DRINX on a couple of occasions passing the 600m whilst laying inwards.
 
SMUG SATISFACTION – Overraced in the early stages and was inconvenienced shortly after passing the 1200m when ALL IMPORTANT shifted outwards abruptly whilst racing keenly. Raced tight passing the winning post to the inside of AUERBACH (J. Lloyd), which shifted in. J. Lloyd was advised to be mindful of other runners when his mounts shift ground.
 
 
VICTORY TOAST – Raced three wide throughout.
 
Race 3: JIM BEAM TAB ‘ORIGIN’ JOCKEY SERIES CLASS 3 PLATE – 1600M
 
BOOM BOOM EPIC – Raced three wide. Held up and unable to obtain clear running between the 500m and the 200m.
 
NASHVILLE SKYLINE – Slow into stride.
 
SWEET ADALINE – Bumped on jumping.
 
OMINECA – Bumped on jumping.
 
SOFIE’S GOLD CLASS – Had to be steadied outwards away from the heels of SWEET ADALINE near the 600m.
 
SHAUQUIN – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 4: CASCADE NO MORE THAN ONE METRO WIN THIS YEAR H’CAP – 1350M
 
As J. Orman was to be overweight, T. Marshall was substituted as the rider of BON ROCKET. J. Orman was fined $200.
 
APOLOBOOM – Raced keenly in the early stages. Had to be taken outwards away from the heels of CHAPTER AND VERSE when racing keenly approaching the 600m.
 
TIME TO TORQUE – Got its head up when racing keenly passing the 1000m. Inconvenienced and carried wider when APOLOBOOM shifted outwards near the 600m.
 
SUNNY VICTORY – Raced wide throughout.
 
YABA DABL DOYA – Inconvenienced and carried wider when APOLOBOOM shifted outwards near the 600m. M. Cahill reported that in his opinion the horse did not stretch out comfortably on the firm racing surface.
 
LANDMARKS – Post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a soft swelling over the nearside rump.
 
BON ROCKET – Raced wide throughout.
 
BOLD ASSASSIN – Slow into stride. Held up and unable to improve from the 500m until passing the 200m.
 
SHARPAMAL – Had to be eased when awkwardly placed on the heels of I’VE GOTTA NEL and LANDMARKS passing the 300m.
 
Race 5: MAKERS MARK EAGLE WAY STAYERS SERIES-HEAT-QTIS 3YO H’CAP – 2000M
 
A MAN TO MATCH – Laid outwards in the early part of the straight. Bumped with PIERRE BIZEL near the 300m.
 
COASTAL PRINCE – Eased near the 1400m when MINGALAH (G. Geran) shifted inwards. G. Geran was advised to show greater care when his mounts shift ground.
 
PIERRE BIZEL – Bumped with A MAN TO MATCH near the 300m.
 
ULTIMATE RING – Slow into stride.
 
CEOL NA MARA – Buffeted approaching the 400m when racing tight between A MAN TO MATCH, which was improving to its inside, and MINGALAH, which was laying inwards.
 
STATELY MANNER – Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight.
 
UBER MOVER – Slow to begin.
 
Race 6: CANADIAN CLUB TAB ‘ORIGIN’ JOCKEY SERIES CLASS 6 PLATE – 2000M
 
COLOUR OF MONEY – Slow into stride.
 
SAVWELL – Held up for clear running between the 400m and the 200m.
 
GALTERO – Overraced in the early stages and got its head up on a number of occasions.
 
MOST EXALTED – Laid inwards over the final 200m.
 
SHAKOPEE – Proved very difficult to settle in the early and middle stages. Shortly after passing the 1000m continued to be difficult to settle and was taken wide to improve.
 
LUCKY JACKSON – Momentarily steadied passing the 300m when CALYPSO BAY laid in.
 
Race 7: TAB BRISBANE H’CAP – 1600M
 
COLDSTONE – Slow into stride after jumping away awkwardly.
 
PRIORITISE – Shifted outwards after making contact with RULING DYNASTY shortly after the start. When questioned regarding his ride on the gelding, apprentice M. Murphy stated that he was instructed to race in a forward position, however, he jumped away slowly and then had to use his mount up in the early stages to obtain a forward position. He further stated that after making contact with RULING DYNASTY shortly after the start he elected to try and take up the lead, however, near the 1200m he allowed KAY KAY BOY take over the lead and thereafter his mount travelled to its outside. In addition, he stated that PRIORTISE travelled in a relaxed manner in the middle stages, however, failed to pick up when placed under pressure and disappointed in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
RULING DYNASTY – Bumped and became unbalanced shortly after the start when attempting to improve to the outside of PRIORTISE, which shifted outwards.
 
OUTRAGED – Slow to begin.
 
KAY KAY BOY – Slow to begin. When questioned regarding her riding of the horse, J. Kah stated that her instructions were to race in a forward position as per its normal racing pattern. She further stated that after jumping away fairly she worked her way forward, however, both COLDSTONE and PRIORITISE raced up to her inside, resulting in her being caught wide early. She then attempted to obtain a forward position whilst allowing PRIORITISE to go forward. She added that it was her intention  to try to settle off PRIORITISE, however, her mount commenced to race keenly despite her efforts. Thereafter she elected to let her mount stride and go to the front.
 
Race 8: MAKERS MARK JUST NOW F&M QUALITY – 1350M
 
As J. Orman was to be overweight, M. Du Plessis was substituted as the rider of CELLARGIRL. J. Orman was fined $200.
 
SHEISWHATSHEIS – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
TEST THE WORLD – Dipped on jumping.
 
OF THE DAY – Reared as the start was effected, resulting in it being slow to begin. Had to be continually steadied approaching the 600m when awkwardly placed on the heels of PLUMARO and racing to the inside of FOXY HOUSEWIFE. Had to be checked passing the 200m. M. Du Plessis, the rider of CELLARGIRL, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that near the 200m he permitted his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear of OF THE DAY, causing interference to that runner. M. Du Plessis’ licence to ride in races was suspended for 8 days, to commence at midnight on Sunday, 16 December, and expire at midnight on Monday, 24 December 2018. In determining penalty, stewards took into account the degree of carelessness and severity of the interference as well as jockey Du Plessis’ previous good record. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
FEMME FIREBALL – Raced wide from the 500m.
 
CELLARGIRL – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
FOXY HOUSEWIFE – Trainer D. Vandyke advised that from the wide barrier it would be the intention to have the horse ridden in a rearward position. The horse was ridden accordingly.
 
Race 9: SPRITE NO METRO WINS H’CAP – 1200M
 
CASINO THOUGHTS – Raced keenly in the middle stages. Made contact with CONQUERING LASS for a short distance passing the 100m.
 
TEEROYS TRIBUTE – Hung outwards from the 800m.
 
LIMERICK MOON – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide throughout.
 
MISS ANNA – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
BOMBARDING – Raced wide throughout.
 
CONQUERING LASS – Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight. Made contact with CASINO THOUGHTS for a short distance passing the 100m.
 
CRYSTAL AMOR – Bumped on jumping.
 
MACHU PICCHU – Raced wide throughout.
