Race 1: TAB VENUE MODE QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
COMMIT TO SUCCESS – Over-raced in the early stages. Had to be restrained near the 900 metres when IMMEDIATE RESPONSE shifted when not fully clear. Ben Thompson (IMMEDIATE RESPONSE) was issued with a reprimand and advised to provide greater clearance when shifting ground in the future. Continued to over-race in the middle stages. Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
GENERAL WOLFFE – Jumped very awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
HEART OF MARBLE – Rider J Orman explained the gelding failed to respond to his riding in the home  straight and raced greenly when under pressure  post-race veterinary examination conducted failed to reveal any significant findings.
 
KAYTEE REINADO – Slow to begin. Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight.
 
MISS GOT – It was noted the filly cast its near hind plate during the race.
STAR TWINKLE – Raced awkwardly soon after the start. Shifted out away from COMMIT TO SUCCESS near the 450 metres when racing greenly.
 
 
 
Race 2: SKY RACING BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1660 metres
 
ALL BUT GONE – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight. Rider R Maloney was fined $500 under the provisions of AR 132 (7)(a)(ii) for using the whip in a forehand manner on eight occasions prior to the 100 metres, three more than permitted.
 
STEINBRENNER – Began awkwardly. Raced three wide in the early stages and was allowed to stride forward to race outside the leader near the 900 metres.
 
NOTONYA NELLY – Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
 
CALL ME LEGEND – Slow to begin.
 
ENSENADA – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
 
 
Race 3: CASCADE Class 2 Plate 1200 metres
 
DALTORO – Shifted in near the 800 metres and struck the running rail. Had to be restrained from the heels TWERK near the 400 metres when inclined to hang in.  Continued to hang in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SIR ROCKET – Rider T Harrison reported that the gelding travelled well until placed under pressure upon straightening when it failed to respond and began to weaken. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any significant findings. Stable representative advised that the gelding returned to the enclosure with making an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer M Costa was advised that he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness together with the results of an endoscopic examination prior to the gelding performing satisfactorily in an official trial.
 
RARI – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
HENLEY MISS  -Bumped by PERFECT IMPRESSION near the 700 metres.
 
TWERK – Over-raced in the early stages. Shifted in near 800 metres and struck the running rail.
 
PERFECT IMPRESSION – Shifted in near the 800 metres and struck the running rail. Shifted out near 700 Metres and bumped HENLEY MISS.
 
ZOUKINA – Began awkwardly. Three wide from the 600 metres.
 
 
Race 4: ALCYONE HOTEL Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate 1350 metres
 
MONYATTA became fractious in the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 3.43pm. All monies invested on MONYATTA were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 3.43pm:
 
0 cents in the dollar for the win – HEAVEN AMORE
1 cents in the dollar for the place of winner
1 cents in the dollar for 2nd place – VITAL SOURCE
1 cents in the dollar for 3rd place – HAZ DE BEE
 
HEAVEN AMORE – Shifted in and bumped the running rail near the 800 metres.
 
HAZ DE BEE – Shifted in and bumped the running rail near the 800 metres when racing in restricted room to the inside of VITAE.
 
LADY GRAZIER – Trainer advised will be ridden more forward today. After being slow to begin was ridden forward three wide to race outside the leader near the 800 metres. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any obvious abnormalities.
 
LUNA AMANTE – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
VITAL SOURCE – Slow to begin. Trainer C Munce was questioned regarding the apparent improved performance of the filly which finished second today.  Mr Munce explained that the filly hasn’t been suited at its previous starts when racing on rain effected tracks. He further added that from the inside barrier today it was able to have a better run than its most previous start when it began from an outside barrier. He added that prior to the filly’s previous start it had received treatment for a veterinary condition.  Stewards have requested Mr Munce provide veterinary records regarding the treatment to VITAL SOURCE at the relevant time.
 
WINTER RAIN – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
 
 
Race 5: XXXX DRY Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden Plate 1350 metres
 
 
HAPPY BABE – Unable to secure clear running rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight and near the 200 metres shifted out and bumped SEQUOIDEAE.
 
KID MAC – Over-raced in the early stages and had to be steadied near the 1200 metres when racing in restricted room to the inside of HAPPY BABE.
 
LOUD NOISE – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
GENTLE PRINCE – Slow to begin.
 
SEQUOIDEAE – Bumped by HAPPY BABE near the 200 metres.
 
VETERAN – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
 
Race 6: MOUNT FRANKLIN Class 5 Handicap 1050 metre
 
 
SHADOW OF TIME – Had to be restrained and shifted in near the 600 metres when KAORU KING was retired from the race.
 
SYD'S FOOTPRINTS – Had to be restrained near the 900 metres when JE SUIS BELLE shifted in when not fully clear. Apprentice L Kilner (JE SUIS BELLE) was issued with a reprimand and advised to provide her fellow riders greater clearance in the future. Was allowed to stride forward three wide in the early stages to the lead near the 650 metres.
 
KAORU KING – Blundered at the start. Retired from the race near the 600 metres after sustained an injury. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding sustained an injury to its pelvis. The gelding was treated with pain relief and sent for further veterinary assessment. Trainer Jason Edwards was advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness will be required for the gelding prior to being permitted to start again.
 
UPPER EAST SIDE – Restrained near the 900m when the pace steadied.
 
 
Race 7: RACECOURSE VILLAGE Class 1 Handicap 1660 metres
 
DARING MAN – Checked when tightened for room approaching the 1400 metres. Rider M McGillivray pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR 131(a) for permitting THE GOLDEN BEAR to shift in approaching the 1400 metres when not clear of DARING MAN.  M McGillivray had his licence to ride in races suspended for nine days to commence at midnight 20 February 2021 and to conclude at midnight 1 March 2021.
 
GULLFOSS – A post-race veterinary examination of the filly revealed an abnormal respiratory noise and to be coughing. Trainer K Schweida was advised that he must provide a veterinary clearance for the filly together with the results of endoscopic examination prior to be permitted to start again.
 
HELSUN – Tightened for room at start and had to be steadied and then commenced to over-race in the early stages.
 
WELL WELL WELL – Over-raced in the early and middle stages when leading.
 
 
 
Race 8: TAB LIVE SKY RACING VISION BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1350 metres
 
TAVIS TOWN – Raced three wide over the final 650 metres.
 
NO LAUGHING MATTER – Had difficulty securing clear running the early stages of the home straight.
 
WILDWOOD JADE – Steadied near 800 metres.
