Stewards approved the following overweights:

Race 1: XXXX DRY QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1200 metres
 
SHAMEDY – Raced wide in the early stages. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be displaying tachycardia. Trainer G. Green was advised that SHAMEDY will require a veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG prior to its next start.
 
RUSSIAN ALLIANCE – Raced keenly during the early stages. Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
NORTH OF ELI – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
OCEANS OF ENERGY – Slow to begin. Inconvenienced at the 500m. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
MINTO'S D'ORO – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced keenly approaching the 800m and had to be steadied from heels. Jockey M. Du Plessis commented at scale that the filly felt awkward in its action. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be short stepping in front. Trainer L. Kelly advised Stewards that the filly will now likely head for a spell. Mr Kelly was advised that if he were to continue the filly’s preparation, the filly will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
PARA PARK CHANCE – Checked at the 500m when RUSSIAN ALLIANCE shifted into a narrow run. L. Cassidy, rider of RUSSIAN ALLIANCE, was charged pursuant to AR131(a) for shifting in when insufficiently clear. Mr Cassidy’s license to ride in races was suspended for 8 days commencing midnight the 23rd of April until midnight the 1st of May 2023. Mr Cassidy was advised of his rights to an appeal.   
 
BRAVE AGENDA – Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 50m and was carried in to avoid the heels of RUSSIAN ALLIANCE.
 
SALT LAKE BETTY – Trainer D. Forster was fined $100 under the provisions of LR67(1) for the late declaration of rider.
 
Race 2: SKY RACING BENCHMARK 78 Handicap 2200 metres
 
STUCK WITH YOU (NZ) – Raced wide until the 1400m. 
 
APPLICATIONS (NZ) – Began awkwardly and shifted in hampering PORT MOURANT.
 
RELUCENT (NZ) – Co-trainer Mr A. Simpson was fined $100 pursuant to AR106 for presenting without the correct gear (front bandages). Began awkwardly.
 
SAINT MARTIN – Began awkwardly. Raced in restricted room for a number of strides passing the 2000m.
 
FLENSBURG – Eased approaching the 1400m when THE DRILLER shifted closer to the rail.
 
THE DRILLER – Disappointed for a run leaving the 150m and had to alter course.
 
PORT MOURANT – Began awkwardly, hampered and lost ground. Over raced approaching the 1700m and had to be steadied from heels.
 
 
Race 3: BJORN AGAIN ABBA TRIBUTE 2 JUNE Class 6 Plate 1615 metres
 
ROUSSEAU – Slow to begin. Momentarily steadied from heels near the 1100m. Held up for clear running in the home straight. When attempting to improve on turning into the home straight, contacted the hindquarters of WITHOUT REVENGE.
 
A BIG CHANCE – Slow to begin.
 
WITHOUT REVENGE (GB) – As jockey R.  Maloney was overweight, he was replaced by M. Cahill. Jockey R. Maloney was fined $200. Over raced during the early stages. Had its hindquarters contacted by ROUSSEAU on entering the home straight.
 
DEEP SCEIVA – Raced wide until the 1000m.
 
SIENNA'S AWARD – Raced in restricted room approaching the 1100m and had to be steadied momentarily from the heels of WITHOUT REVENGE, which shifted in whilst over racing.
 
 
Race 4: THE STAR STRADBROKE SEASON BENCHMARK 72 Handicap 1200 metres
 
CANADIAN DANCER – Passing the 700m, attempted to improve into a run when there was insufficient room and had to be restrained from heels.
 
KOSCIUSKO – Began awkwardly.
 
MOTOMISS – Passing the 700m, raced in restricted room after his mount improved to the inside of CALESCENT.
 
MAYA BAY – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
BEAUX RUMBLE – Raced wide throughout.
 
MISS BALTIMORE – Lost the near hind plate in running.
 
CRAZY TRAIN – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
I AM AZZURRO – At the 200m, awkwardly placed on the heels of MISS BALTIMORE which shifted in and away from CRAZY TRAIN which laid in under pressure.
 
 
Race 5: MEKKA FEST AUGUST BENCHMARK 90 Handicap 1110 metres
 
FAR TOO EASY – Raced wide throughout.
 
SIR WARWICK – At the 300m checked off heels of the tiring GREYWORM and again approaching the 200m. Apprentice J. Lloyd was fined $500 pursuant to AR227 in that he was negligent in weighing in underweight which could have led to a breach of the rules.
 
SWEET MARGOT MAY – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. At the 900m had to take evasive action and shifted wider on the track and tightened the running room of BE WATER MY FRIEND.
 
SHAMROCK LU – Began awkwardly.
 
MISS DIVINE EM – Raced wide throughout.
 
DARE TO SHARE – Slow to begin. Passing the 900m hit the running rail, and checked when tightened for room by SALATEEN who was carried in by FIFTEEN ROUNDS which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Jockey K. Wilson-Taylor’s license to ride in races was suspended under AR131(a) for twelve days from midnight the 1st of May 2023 until midnight the 13th of May 2023. Jockey Wilson-Taylor was advised of his right to an appeal.
 
Race 6: GALLOPERS SPORTS CLUB BENCHMARK 90 Handicap 1350 metres

INDISPENSABLE – Obliged to shift wider at the 800m off the heels of TRAMONTO when over racing. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
LEGAL ESPRIT – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
AT WITZ END – Raced wide throughout.
 
AUSSIE NUGGET (IRE) – Slow to begin.
 
HILO – Raced wide throughout.
 
MISSISSIPPI PRINCE – Underwent a post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
TRAMONTO – Leaving the 800m commenced to over race. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 7: EUREKA STUD PRINCESS STAKES 1615 metres
 
WOLVERINE (NZ) – Raced wide throughout.
 
TYRESA – As jockey L. Cassidy was stood down due to injury, he was replaced by J. Orman. Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
DIVINE PURPOSE – Began awkwardly. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer C. Taylor reported that he was disappointed in the filly’s effort and was advised to report back to Stewards the condition of the filly and subsequent plans moving forward with the filly’s preparation.
 
MADAME ODETTE – Raced wide throughout.
 
MISS FABERGE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
ORIGINAL GLAZE – Raced wide throughout.
 
VEANDECHANCE –Connections advised of a change of tactics in that the filly will be ridden in a more forward position if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly.
 
STREET GOSSIP – Began awkwardly.
 
STREET GLORY – Over raced during the early stages.
 
YANKEE HUSSEL – Over raced in the middle stages. Jockey J. Byrne when asked to comment on the performance of the filly stated that YANKEE HUSSEL over raced and was disappointing in its finishing effort. He also advised connections that, in his opinion, the filly would benefit with a drop down in distance from today’s event.
 
OLD SONG – Checked from the heels of the tiring DIVINE PURPOSE approaching the home turn.
 
Race 8: CANADIAN CLUB TAILS STAKES 1615 metres
 
YONKERS (USA) – Jockey D. Thornton had his whip dislodged whip over the concluding stages when knocked out of his hand by DUNE FORTY FIVE.
 
CEPHEUS (GB) – Knuckled on jumping.          
 
IRISH PLAYBOY – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight until shifting out near the 200m.
 
SANTERO – Hampered shortly after the start. Raced in restricted room shortly thereafter.
 
 
Race 9: LADBROKES MICK DITTMAN PLATE 1110 metres
 
SWISS EXILE – Jumped inwards at the start. Laid in under pressure in the concluding stages.
 
SPIRITUALISED – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
END ASSEMBLY – Restrained from heels near the 800m. Over raced in the middle stages. Held up for clear running from the 300m until the100m.
 
LUBRICATION – Slow to begin.
 
GOLDEN BOOM – Restrained from heels near the 800m. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
DEER TRAIL – Began awkwardly. Held up for clear running in the home straight.
 
LADY LAGUNA – Restrained from heels near the 800m. Apprentice A. Jones, rider of BEZIQUE, was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.
 
CHINNY BOOM – Restrained from heels near the 800m. Raced wide throughout. Jockey B. Thompson commented at scales that he was unhappy with the filly’s action. A post race veterinary examination revealed CHINNY BOOM to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer Mr C. Taylor was advised that the filly will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
MIDNIGHT IN TOKYO – Began awkwardly and bumped at the start.
 
CONTROLOCRACY – Raced in restricted room passing the 100m.
 
MISS WALLFLOWER – Cahill – Began awkwardly and contacted the outside barrier partition, and as a result was slow to begin. Rider M. Cahill reported that he was unable to ride his mount out fully after experiencing severe discomfort after striking his ankle on the barrier partition when jumping.
