The mare was removed from the barriers, examined by the veterinary surgeon and declared a late scratching at 12:54. Trainer P. Wallace was advised that the mare must trial satisfactorily prior to racing again.

DUKE OF CHRISTOPHE – Slow to begin.

ARRABIATO – Eased when tightened for room approaching the winning post on the first occasion between DUKE OF CHRISTOPHE and MARINA'S SON. Then commenced to overrace and had to be restrained from the heels of MR MALU.

MR MALU – Overraced in the early stages.

MAKAS KING RULER – Raced 3 wide without cover.

MARINA'S SON – Raced 3 wide throughout.

SHOW A FLICK – An inquiry was adjourned into jockey A. Spinks' use of his whip in the home straight.

Race 2: XXXX Summer F&M Class 4 H'cap - 1200m

MY BLING – Kicked behind the barriers, sustaining a laceration to its nearside stifle and was subsequently declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 1.23 pm. Following the event, all monies invested on My Bling were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable.

0 cent in the dollar for the Win #2
2 cents in the dollar for place of winner #2
4 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #4

Connections will be advised that they must provide a veterinary clearance for the horse prior to its next race start.

SORORITY SISTER – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

ROCK ON IVY – Apprentice T. Brooker reported at scale her mount laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.

Following this race the track rating was upgraded to Good 4.

Race 3: Keno Flexi Racing CG&E Class 4 H'cap - 1200m

GENTLEMAN JACK – Bled during the event. As this was the second occasion on which the gelding has bled, it will now incur a lifetime bar from racing.

HI I'M BACK – Hung in under pressure over the final 250m.
ROUGH EDDIE – Apprentice S. Eilbeck was reprimanded for using her whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

Race 4: The Carlton Mid Maiden H'cap - 1200m

TICKLED PINK – Trainer C. Munce was fined $200 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time.

CELESTIAL GREY – Slipped at the start and lost ground. Had to be steadied passing the 1000m when momentarily tightened for room.

STRATUZY – Began awkwardly.

EL NINO'S BAMBINO – Apprentice T. Brooker reported at scale it was not her intention to lead but after beginning well rather than after being caught wide she elected to ride forward to obtain the lead near the 1000m.

SHEZA YANKEE – Hung out for a major part of the race and made the home turn extremely wide. Trainer J. Meagher was advised the filly must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

ALTERED – Jockey Hammersley dropped his whip over the final stages.

Race 5: The IGT Australia QTIS 3yo Colts and Geldings Maiden H'cap - 1200m

ROCK ON DESTINY – Refused to load into the barriers and was declared a late scratching at 2.56 pm. Subsequent to the event all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable.

6 cents in the dollar for the Win #2
6 cents in the dollar for place of winner #2
7 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #10

Race 6: Cellarbrations Class 5 H'cap - 1500m

OLD SMOKEY – Change of tactics. To be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly.

MOONLIGHT DANCER – Jockey J. Lloyd reported at scale it was not his intention to cross to the lead approaching the 1000m but when YOHO slowed he was unable to restrain his mount and for this reason he allowed MOONLIGHT DANCER to stride to the front.

Race 7: Bundaberg Small Batch Class 2 H'cap - 1400m

DREAM HABIT – Slow to begin.

DAME VAN WINKEL – Had to be steadied when tightened for room passing the 1200m.

MONTRER DAME – Slow to begin.

CHEVAL LE VENT – Overraced in the early stages.

ROYAL ROULETTE – Raced 3 wide without cover.

MEDIEVAL – Jockey J. Byrne was questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the gelding. He explained that his mount overraced during the early and middle stages and was inclined to hang in, which affected, in his view, the horse's capacity to finish the race off. A post race veterinary examination revealed a small laceration to the near hind leg. Trainer M. Dunn will be interviewed regarding today's performance.
