Race 1: COKE ZERO BENCHMARK 75 H’CAP - 2200M
 
RETUNE – Shifted in and bumped another runner shortly after the start.
 
ROCK ON IVY – After being caught wide in the early stages, apprentice T. Brooker allowed her mount to stride forward to a position behind the leader.
 
ZIMBALI – Bumped near the 500m.
 
CHARLIE ROYALE – Slow to begin and was then crowded for room shortly after the start. Attempted to improve near the 500m and made contact with another runner. Momentarily held up for clear running approaching the 200m.
 
SPIRIT MINDED – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
Race 2: JIM BEAM QTIS 2YO H’CAP - 1200M
 
BOLD KINGSTON – Bumped between runners on jumping. Lost the near fore plate shortly after the start.
 
MISHANI BULLIT – Raced wide without cover.
 
GO DAISY – Connections advised that it would be the intention to have the horse ridden just behind the leaders with cover if circumstances permit. The horse settled in a handy position.
 
Race 3: MAKERS MARK QTIS 3YO H’CAP - 1600M
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight jockey D. Browne, rider of 2nd placegetter NO ANNAMOSSITY, viewed the video of the concluding stages, considering an objection against the winner. After viewing the patrol footage jockey Browne declined to lodge an objection and correct weight was declared. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer R. Heathcote was advised that the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to its next start.
 
NO ANNAMOSSITY – Bumped close to the finish line.
 
VOLPINO – Raced four wide without cover.
 
BENFICA PRINCESS – Bumped shortly after the start. Overraced in the early stages and passing the 1100m continued to overrace, got its head up and shifted out.
 
GOOD LUCK MALELA – Had to be steadied and shifted in to avoid heels at the 200m.
 
ORDER AGAIN – Had to be steadied away from heels passing the 400m and was then unable to improve for some distance.
 
REALING – Shifted ground under pressure inside the 200m and close to the finishing line made contact with NO ANNAMOSSITY.
 
MYSTYKO – When questioned, G. Colless explained that it was not his intention to be so far back in the field, however did wish to ride the gelding with cover as it was its first time attempting 1600m.
 
SMART DEVIL – Hampered at the start.
 
STORM GIRL – Had to be steadied to avoid heels passing the 1000m. Jockey H. Poland, the rider of MOGUL, was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in future when shifting ground. Had to be checked at the 200m. A. Spinks, the rider of ORDER AGAIN, was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift out when not fully clear.
 
DAZZLE EM SID – Got its head up and shifted out when being steadied at the 1200m. Continued to overrace in the middle stages.
 
ELUSIVE AFFAIR – Severely checked when crowded at the start.
 
GENERAL COS – Raced in restricted room approaching the 1200m and then was checked shortly afterwards when taken out by a runner to the inside. Raced wide without cover.
 
Race 4: CASCADE NO MORE THAN ONE METRO WIN H’CAP - 1400M
 
GLENDARA – Had to be steadied approaching the 1000m.
 
BETTER LAND – Taken in by BUSHY near the 1100m and then had to steady away from heels. J. Lloyd, the rider of BUSHY, was reprimanded and advised to be fully clear when shifting ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed slight soreness over the rump.
 
BECKONING LIGHT – Jumped awkwardly. Had to steady off heels approaching the 200m and did not secure clear running until approaching the 100m.
 
MOON AND THE STARS – Slow to begin.
 
SELFIE – Connections advised that the horse, which is usually ridden back in the field, would be ridden in a more forward position from the wide barrier should circumstances permit. After being caught wide, the horse crossed to the lead at the 1000m.
 
CASINO EXPRESS – Hampered when tightened for room between runners shortly after the start. Raced wide without cover.
 
After the running of this race the track was upgraded to SOFT 5 retrospective.
 
Race 5: COKE ORIGIN JOCKEY SERIES CLASS 3 PLATE - 1600M
 
MONO LAD –Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
 
OLD TEX – Had to be checked inside the 100m when tiring. D. Tourneur, the rider of TAMBO'S HEART, was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift out near the 100m when not fully clear. At the same stage, MONO LAD shifted in slightly. J. Byrne, the rider of MONO LAD, immediately endeavoured to correct his mount. Rider M. Walker reported that the gelding was inclined to hang out throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed fresh ulceration to the offside cheek.
 
GAME PIE – Slow to begin.
 
PLENTY SPECIAL – Slow to begin. Pulled hard in the middle stages.
 
MADAME DE BAN – Raced wide without cover. Taken wider on the track at the 400m.
 
ADHERE – Hampered near the 400m and had to be steadied away from heels.
 
PASSION IN FLIGHT – Slow to begin.
 
Race 6: SPRITE JOCKEY SERIES BENCHMARK 85 H’CAP - 1200M
 
LE CAP – Bumped heavily on jumping.
 
PRIMAL FLIGHT – Raced wide without cover.
 
FLYING RIDDLE – Raced wide without cover.
 
INVITATIONS – Shifted out on jumping and made heavy contact with LE CAP.
 
DAME DESTINY – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
Race 7: PEAK SPORTS AND SPINE CENTRE MODE PLATE - 1200M
 
CANDIKA – Raced wide without cover.
 
NICCONI LEGGERA – Had to be severely checked making the first turn. Bumped heavily near the 900m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
ECKSTEIN – Rider H. Poland pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that approaching and rounding the first turn she permitted her mount to shift in when not clear of runners to the inside, resulting in those runners having to be checked. Ms Poland's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 18 days, to commence at midnight on Saturday 17 December and expire at midnight on Wednesday 4 January 2017.  In determining penalty, stewards acknowledged jockey Poland's good record, however took into account  the degree of interference suffered by other runners as well as it being a Listed race. Jockey Poland accidentally dropped her whip inside the 100m. Lost the near fore plate in running.
 
TIYATROLANI – Had to be checked making the first turn.
 
SUSPENDERS – Had to be checked making the first turn.
 
TWO SHOES – Raced wide without cover.
 
GIBRALTAR GIRL – Had to be restrained making the first turn when runners ahead met with interference.
 
SAVANNA AMOUR – Raced wide without cover.
 
CHASE THE WIND – G. Colless was dislodged behind the barriers. Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
 
LIPSTICK LOVER – Reared as the gates opened and lost ground.
 
SHE'S SO MEAN – Had to be checked making the first turn when runners ahead met with interference.
 
CALIENTE D'ORO – Had to be checked to avoid heels making the first turn when runners ahead met with interference. Shifted in near the 900m and made heavy contact with NICCONI LEGGERA.
 
Race 8: CANADIAN CLUB JUST NOW H’CAP - 1300M
 
ELEGANT COMPOSURE – L. Cassidy reported that after being bumped by RA RA EPIC near the 1100m his mount raced in restricted room for some distance after the incident and and as a result the mare only finished the race off fairly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
BEATNIKS – Shifted out abruptly near the 600m. Tightened for room approaching the 400m and had to be steadied.
 
NOTONYOURLIFE – Taken wider near the 600m.
 
RA RA EPIC – Although a gear change of blinkers on and tongue tie on was not advertised for this meeting, the mare was also accepted for the Gold Coast with that gear and was therefore allowed to race with that gear. Raced wide throughout.
 
SECRET PUZZLE – Examined by the veterinary surgeon on arrival at the barriers and passed fit to run. Jumped awkwardly.
 
Race 9: MOUNT FRANKLIN QUALITY H’CAP - 1500M
 
HARADA BAY – Held up in the early stages of the straight.
 
SEBRINA – Raced wide without cover.
