Race 1: WWW.BRC.COM.AU RATINGS BAND 0 – 70 H’CAP – 1400M
 
FABULONH – Bumped at the start.
 
GET STUCK IN – Bumped on jumping. Had to be eased near the 800m after racing keenly and getting up on the heels of DRUMADOIR.
 
SNITZEL DAY – Bumped on jumping. Bumped near the 425m when DRUMADOIR shifted outwards to obtain clear running.
 
MULLAGHMORE – Jumped away awkwardly, making contact with FABULONH.
 
DRUMADOIR – Shifted outwards near the 425m, making contact with SNITZEL DAY.
 
NORTHERN DRAGON – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
Race 2: LUNAR NEW YEAR RACEDAY QTIS 2YO H’CAP – 1000M
 
As R. Maloney was to be overweight, T. Marshall was substituted as the rider of IAMICAN. R. Maloney was fined $300.
 
GUNTANTES – Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout.
 
GARIBALDI – Laid inwards over the final 200m.
 
READY TO ROAM – Raced tight near the 250m between ARNWOOD, which rolled outwards, and CENTREFIRE, which rolled inwards.
 
IAMICAN – Raced wide throughout. Raced greenly for a number of strides making the turn into the straight.
 
SAY HAYA – Slow to begin after jumping away awkwardly.
 
As J. Byrne was stood down by the Club doctor following this event, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Race 3: ACCESS INSULATION NO METRO WINS H’CAP – 1000M
 
As B. Stewart was to be overweight, J. Lloyd was substituted as the rider of CAPITAL CONNECTION. B. Stewart was fined $300.
 
NATIONAL TRAIL – Cast the off hind plate in running.
 
CONNOISSEUR – Raced three wide throughout.
 
CAPITAL CONNECTION – Jumped away awkwardly. Cast the off hind plate in running.
 
ARCHYTAS – Slow to begin. Eased off the heels of REAL CUTE near the 300m when that runner shifted out. S. Galloway, the rider of REAL CUTE, was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
MASTERATI – A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the off hind lateral coronet.
 
CRACKNECK – Slow to begin.
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to GOOD 3.
 
Race 4: TAB OPEN H’CAP – 1200M
 
Apprentice C. Bayliss was reprimanded for claiming only 2.5 kg of his 3 kg claim on PUBLISHING POWER.
 
UPSTART PRIDE – Proved very difficult to settle in the early and middle stages.
 
MALVERN ESTATE – Bumped on jumping.
 
IMPREGNABLE – Raced three wide in the early stages.
 
PUBLISHING POWER – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
DIVINE DICE – Bumped on jumping.
 
Race 5: GIRLS DAY OUT RACEDAY CLASS 3 PLATE – 1200M
 
ALL IMPORTANT – Raced extremely wide in the early stages.
 
ACQUME – Underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers after exhibiting a nasal discharge and was cleared to race. Raced wide throughout.
 
SHOWUS YA DIAMONDS – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings other than that the mare had a poor post-race recovery.
 
COOL MOVER – Inconvenienced making the turn into the straight when TOUJOURS L’AMOUR shifted out.
 
SKATE TO PARIS – Blundered on jumping.
 
MEIKAS – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
SORNJA – Crowded on jumping when SHOWUS YA DIAMONDS jumped awkwardly inwards.
 
POETIC HEART – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Eased shortly after the start when tightened to the inside of CYMBALISM, which was carried in slightly by BULLION BELLE, which in turn had been carried in marginally by DESERT MAN (C. Bayliss). In the circumstances stewards believed they could not substantiate any charges, however, apprentice Bayliss was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
 
TOUJOURS L’AMOUR – Eased and taken outwards when awkwardly placed on the heels of ZARREEN, which was giving ground.
 
Race 6: MOET & CHANDON CHAIRMAN’S CLUB QTIS 3YO H’CAP – 1200M
 
BELLE ROC – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
RED CHASE – Raced wide throughout.
 
FULL NELSON – Underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers and was passed fit to race.
 
KEIRABELLA – Eased off the heels of MACEWEN near the 450m when that runner shifted outwards.
 
LEROYTHECONQUEROR – Slow to begin. Raced wide from the 600m.
 
MAKEMYDAY – Slow to begin.
 
Race 7: EVENTS @ BRC OPEN H’CAP – 1820M
 
Apprentice C. Bayliss was reprimanded for claiming only 2.5 kg of his 3 kg claim on SLYDINI.
 
BERGERAC – Made contact with EMPHASIS making the turn into the straight when attempting to shift outwards to obtain clear running. Inclined to lay inwards and was awkwardly placed on the heels of EMPHASIS for a short distance after making the turn into the straight.
 
BALBOA ROCKS – Finished tailed off. Trainer D. Hansen was advised that, in light of today’s performance, the gelding would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to racing again. Mr Hansen was further advised that should the gelding continue to perform inconsistently, consideration would be given to placing an embargo on the horse’s racing future. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
EMPHASIS – Raced four wide with cover from the 800m. Bumped by BERGERAC making the turn into the straight.
 
ESTIKHRAAJ – Slow to begin.
 
SLYDINI – Shifted outwards when racing keenly near the 1000m and raced three wide without cover thereafter.
 
CHLORIDE – T. Harrison reported that her saddle shifted back during the event.
 
DEVLANN – Raced wide throughout. Cast the near hind plate in running.
 
Race 8: MEMBERSHIPS @ BRC BENCHMARK 80 H’CAP – 1600M
 
BLUEBROOK – The veterinary surgeon reported that the gelding had bled from both nostrils. Trainer K. Schweida was advised that the horse would be ineligible to race for 3 months, and prior to its next start would be required to gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward.
 
MR BELLAGIO – Eased passing the 1100m whilst racing keenly when awkwardly placed on the heels of FIGHTING TEO.
 
REALING – Crowded on jumping between AKAGE and AUERBACH, which jumped awkwardly outwards. Held up and disappointed in the early part of the straight.
 
SHE GOES POP – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
AKAGE – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
Race 9: KIRIN CLASS 6 H’CAP – 1300M
 
CELLARGIRL – Refused to jump. Trainer K. Schweida was advised that the horse would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to its next start, however, Mr Schweida indicated that the horse would be retired from racing.
 
KING LEAR – Slightly slow to begin and was then bumped when LA SCOPA jumped inwards.
 
MISHANI ELECTRA – Hung outwards over the final 200m.
 
LA SCOPA – Made contact with CHAMP ELECT shortly after the start. Blundered after clipping the heels of CHAMP ELECT when racing keenly approaching the 1000m.
 
LUCKY TOM – Raced in restricted room to the inside of MISHANI ELECTRA making the turn into the straight.
 
PRESSWAY – Had a tendency to lay outwards when racing keenly near the 1000m.
 
UMBERTO – Slow to begin. Approaching the turn into the straight had to be eased outwards away from the heels of PRESSWAY, which in turn had been carried outwards when CONQUERING LASS shifted outwards abruptly after being brushed by KING LEAR.
