SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT





GENERAL





Race 1: EZY PROJECTS Maiden Handicap 1200 metres



REGAL EDITION – Stewards questioned rider J Orman regarding the horse leading today, which contrasts with its most recent racing pattern. He explained that the gelding had trialled well recently in blinkers and settling in a forward position, he added that with the addition of blinkers today, and after beginning well from the wide barrier he allowed the gelding to stride forward to the lead. Trainer K Schweida advised that Mr Orman had no specific instructions and anticipated that he would settle in a handy position with the blinkers. He added that the gelding returned to the enclosure with its tongue over the bit and he would consider removing the blinkers and adding a tongue-tie for future starts. Mr Schweida was reminded of his obligations under AR100 to advise Stewards of any change in tactics in the future.



BILLY'S BRO – Rider N Callow reported that the gelding was inclined to lay out under pressure in the home straight.



ISOLYFE – Reared at the start. Blundered near the 1100m. Over-raced in the early stages.



LA FUSEE – Raced three wide until the home turn when it commenced to weaken from that point. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer B Hill was advised that he must provide a veterinary certificate before trialling or racing again.



SCRIPT WRITER – Held up for clear running in the early part of the home straight.







Race 2: BUY QTIS @ MAGIC MILLIONS NEXT WEEK BM65 Handicap 1000 metres



PERFECT AIM – Raced wide without cover throughout.



LUCIFER'S LOOT – Inclined to lay in during the middle stages.



EXCEED TYCOON -Slow to begin.



DYNAMIC DUO – Slow to begin. Steadied off heels near the 500m.



VAST KAMA – Raced three wide without cover.



IMPRINTED – Steadied when briefly tightened for room near the 500m.



AMUNGEE – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight. Rider R Maloney reported that the mare did not appreciate the firm track today.



Race 3: SPOT PRODUCTIONS Maiden Handicap 1600 metres



LAW PARTY – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight and was obliged to alter course to the outside near the 300m.



HELLO HANDSOME (NZ) – Restrained from the heels of LUNAR LANDING near the 900m.



EMBOSSING – When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, rider J Orman explained that he was tightened for room near the 1400m by CEE EYE CEE. Rider A Thompson (CEE EYE CEE) was issued with a reprimand for this incident. Following this the gelding did not travel comfortably and he was unable to offer any tangible explanation for the disappointing performance today. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality and a routine swab sample was taken. Stable foreman Mr Brett Killion was advised that EMBOSSING must trial before being permitted to race again.



LUNAR LANDING – Raced three wide in the early stages. Over-raced badly approaching and passing the 900m when awkwardly placed at the heels of SCENIC RIM, following this was allowed to stride forward to cross to the position outside the leader near the 700m.



CEE EYE CEE – Slow to begin.



ENUNCIATION – Over-raced in the middle stages.



REALAIDE – Stable representative Mr W Lawson advised the Stewards that the gelding became momentarily cast in the float when travelling to the course. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed some soreness to the chest and was ordered a late scratching at 12.35pm





ZOOMARATTA -Slow to begin.



Race 4: RANVET NATIONAL APPRENTICE RACE SERIES Class 3 Plate 1200 metres



EPICURIOUS -Slow to begin.



MISS LOT WON - Over-raced badly in the early stages. Steadied when disappointed for a un near the 300m.



TITANIUM – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room and was steadied passing the 1000m. Had to be steadied near the 300m when momentarily steadied near the 300m.





Race 5: ENCRYPTION FIRST CROP YEARLINGS Class 1 Plate 1600 metres



NORTH ROCKS – Checked and clipped the heels of PRUNDA near the 500m. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality.



PRUNDA – Raced three wide throughout. Had to be checked from the heels of Style Seeker near the 500m.



PUSHKIN – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.



STREET DANCER – Raced three wide throughout.



STYLE SEEKER (NZ) - Apprentice J Lloyd was found guilty of careless riding under the provisions AR131(a) in that he permitted STYLE SEEKER to shift out near the 500m when insufficiently clear of PRUNDA which had to be restrained when tightened for room between STYLE SEEKER and STREET DANCER. NORTH ROCKS which was following struck the heels of PRUNDA and blundered. Apprentice Lloyd had his licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 13 days to commence at midnight 19 March and to expire on 1 April 2022. Apprentice Lloyd also pleaded guilty to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted. (14th Offence) Mr Lloyd had his licence to ride in races for seven (7) days to be served concurrently with his careless riding suspension to commence on 19 March to expire on 26 March 2022. Stewards took into account Apprentice Lloyd’s poor record in relation to this rule.



LARAINA – Laid out over the concluding stages.





Race 6: NATIONAL APPRENTICE RACE SERIES Class 4 Handicap - Base Rating 60 1600 metres



THIS IS SO – Shifted out away from AILOS when that runner shifted out to improve near the 400m.



ROYAL PERFORMANCE – Raced wide throughout.



FAST TRAIN – Over-raced when leading in the early and middle stages.



MOSSHIKI – Slow to begin.



AIOLOS – Jumped awkwardly. Shifted out to improve near the 400m.



XINGYUN – Raced three wide throughout. Had to be steadied when weakening near the 400m when tightened for room between ROYAL PEFORMANCE and THIS IS SO which was taken out by AILOS. Apprentices Will Price and Brandon Louis were both advised to exercise care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.



Race 7: TAB VENUE MODE QTIS Three-Years-Old BM65 Handicap 1000 metres



ALF'S MAGIC – When asked to explain the disappointing performance of the colt, Apprentice K Wilson -Taylor had to work hard outside the leader and as a weakened in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination of the colt revealed no significant findings



PREACH – Tightened for room at the start. Shifted out near the 700m and contacted THE RATTLESNAKE.



THE RATTLESNAKE – Jumped awkwardly. Bumped by PREACH near the 700m and carried wider.



TOP BIRD – Began awkwardly.



CAMPAI – Over-raced in the early stages.



EXTREMIST – Hampered at the start.



Race 8: MAGIC MILLIONS NATIONAL SALE 19 MAY-2 JUNE BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1400 metres



FASANO – Raced three wide throughout.



BAILEYS –Slow to begin. Raced three wide in the early and middle stages.



BUSHIDO – Slow to begin.



GO DARCY (NZ) – Hampered at start.



LIABILITY – Jumped awkwardly. Raced three wide throughout.
