Race 1: 1 MEMBERS' COCKTAIL NIGHT QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1400 metres

Rider R Maloney was fined $300 under the provisions of AR190(3) for failing to fulfill his riding engagement on ARMALITE due to being overweight. Stewards permitted J Byrne to ride the colt.

COCOBREW EXPRESS – Bumped by TYRESSA at the start. Rider L Tarrant was issued a reprimand under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip 6 times, 1 more than permitted. (1st Offence).

GREEN SHADOWS – Shifted out to improve near the 250m and bumped HONKYTONK DIVA.

ARMALITE – Jumped awkwardly. Inclined to shift out under pressure over the final 150m.

TYRESA – Bumped COCOBREW EXPRESS at the start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

HONKYTONK DIVA – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Bumped by GREEN SHADOWS near the 250m.

FOUR MILE LANE – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

Race 2: SKY RACING BENCHMARK 85 Handicap 1815 metres


CLOAK – Inclined to lay in under pressure over the final 250m.

NAMAZU – Restrained off heels when over-racing near the 1400m and shifted in slightly.

REGGIEWOOD – Raced forward three wide in the early stages.

TIOMO – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Briefly tightened for room near the 1400m by NAMAZU which shifted in slightly.

Race 3: STRADBROKE BALL BENCHMARK 78 Handicap 2400 metres

STREET DANCER – Inclined to lay out over the final 100m. Cast an off-fore plate during the race.

CHOCOLATIER – Jumped awkwardly. On pulling up the gelding cast an off plate and stood on the toe clip, the gelding was subsequently examined by the veterinary surgeon and found to be lame in the off fore leg.

SAVVY OAK – Jumped awkwardly.

AQUILEON – Carried wider by KIPPAX passing the winning post on the first occasion. Rider L Cassidy was issued a reprimand under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip 6 times prior to 100m, 1 more than permitted. (2nd offence)

KIPPAX – Over-raced approaching the winning post on the first occasion and carried AQUILEON wider.


Race 4: HAPPY EASTER FROM THE BRC QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1000 metre

MIKKI ROSE – Raced three wide without cover.

SAWEETIE-Jumped awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.

VOODOO MEDICINE – Slow to begin and hampered soon afterwards by SAWEETIE which shifted out. Hampered near the 500m

SEBRING GIRL – Trainer S Kendrick was fined $200 for failing to declare a rider by the required time. Raced three wide throughout. Hampered passing the 500m by VOODOO MEDICINE which was taken out by SERIGALA.

SERIGALA – Shifted in abruptly near the 500m and made heavy contact with the running rail near the 500m and then shifted out and contacted VOODOO MEDICINE. Eased down in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed it was sore in the near fore fetlock and was also lame in the near fore. It was noted that Trainer T Cowan will be advised that he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to racing or trialling again. Mr Cowan will also advised that SERIGALA must compete satisfactorily in a barrier trial prior to racing again.

Race 5: CASCADE BENCHMARK 80 Handicap 1500 metres

CASINO MONDIAL – Checked off the heels of ENTERPRISE PRINCE near the 300m. Rider B Stewart was found guilty careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) for permitting ENTERPRISE PRINCE to shift out when not sufficiently clear of CASINO MONDIAL resulting in that gelding having to be checked. B Stewart had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period of 16 days. To commence at M/N 23 April 2022 and to expire at M/N 9 May 2022.

BULLFINCH – Raced three wide throughout.

MR MONEY BAGS – Raced three wide without cover throughout.

ENTERPRISE PRINCE – Shifted out to improve near the 300m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding that the gelding had a laceration to the off-hind leg which was consistent with being galloped on.

RED BLOOM -Began awkwardly.



Race 6: STRADBROKE SEASON HIGH TEA BENCHMARK 72 Handicap 1600 metres

GAVE US UP – Had to be eased near the 1400m from the heels of SIENNA’S CHOICE. Apprentice K Wilson-Taylor was issued with a reprimand and advised to provide greater clearance when shifting ground in the future.

AMERICANA MAGIC – Contacted and shifted out near the 1400m.

SIENNA'S CHOICE – Shifted in passing the 1400m.

COMMAND KING- Raced three wide throughout.

FIREBOX – Raced three wide without cover.

THIS IS SO – Cast an off hind plate during the race.

BALMAURICE – Slow to begin.

Race 7: XXXX DAYBREAK LOVER 1400 metres

RELEASE THE BEANS – Bumped on the hindquarters near the 1200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

DARK DESTROYER – Over-raced in the early stages.

CAPE BRETON – Unable to obtain clear running in the home straight

MISHANI SNIPER -Trainer L Ross was fined $200 for falling to declare a rider by the required time.

ASHGROVE - Shifted in and made contact with the running rail near the 1100m.

YOU'LL BE MIST – Tightened near the 1200m when racing in restricted room inside of ROCKLILY, the filly then shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of RELEASE THE BEANS.

ROCKLILY- Raced three wide without cover throughout.



Race 8: TAB ASCOT QUALITY HANDICAP 1000 metres

ZOUSTYLE – Slow to begin.

EMERALD KINGDOM – Steadied near the 700m.

GREYWORM – Steadied near the 700m to avoid the heels ZOUSTYLE. Rider B Stewart was issued with a reprimand and reminded to show greater care when shifting ground in

WRITTEN BEAUTY – Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously when being restrained in the early stages.

KYLEASE – Raced three wide throughout.

LYRICAL GIRL – Eased near 700m when briefly tightened.



Race 9: TAB STRADBROKE CALCUTTA BENCHMARK 80 Handicap 1200 metres

WESTLINK – Slow to begin.

LASTING KISS – Raced three wide throughout.

BOINGO – Raced three wide throughout.

PLATINUM EUROS – Steadied near the 300m from the heels of TRAMONTO.
