TAPPY'S LAD (NZ) – Improved onto heels approaching the 500m and was obliged to shift wider. Jockey T. Banks was reprimanded pursuant to AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip seven times prior to the 100m, two more than permitted.
 
BADER – Jockey L Tarrant was reprimanded pursuant to AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip six times prior to the 100m, one more than permitted.
 
CASSOWARY – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in its near foreleg. Trainer S. Alam was advised CASSOWARY would require a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
 
IRIDESSA (NZ) – Jockey T Thornton was reprimanded pursuant to AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip six times prior to the 100m, one more than permitted.
 
DRAKE PASSAGE (NZ) – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be displaying clinical signs of the thumps and heat stress.
 
CLASSIC DEEL – Laid in under pressure. Jockey S Collett was reprimanded pursuant to AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip six times prior to the 100m, one more than permitted.
 
Race 2: XXXX RQ SUMMER PROVINCIAL SERIES (FINAL) NO METRO WINS LAST 2 YEARS HANDICAP         1300 M
 
WINSTON SMURFHILL (NZ) – Held up approaching the 300m before shifting out to improve.
 
WILLINGA FREEFALL (NZ) – Raced wide early.
 
THE CULLINAN – Raced keenly approaching the 900m. Jockey L. Tarrant was reminded of his obligations to correct his mount when it begins to shift ground.
 
BOOM COURT – When asked to comment on today’s performance, Jockey T. Marshall stated his mount never travelled comfortably throughout and proved disappointed in its finishing efforts. Trainer S. Kendrick advised he was disappointed in the horse’s performance and would have his stable veterinarian conduct tests and would forward the results to Stewards as soon as practical. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
BUNDYANDCOKE – Slow to begin. Approaching the winning post became awkward in its action momentarily. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
PREPOTENT – Slow to begin.
 
MISS TAMBO – Began awkwardly.
 
VONZITHER – Raced wide early.
 
ALFA LILY – Raced wide throughout. Approaching the 200m raced in restricted room to the inside of THE CULLINAN which shifted in under pressure.
 
Race 3: EUREKA STUD PHELAN READY 1000 M
 
MISHANI EXPLORER – Began awkwardly.
 
MISHANI HERCULES – Raced greenly in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
BEAU DAZZLER (NZ) – Slow to begin. Obliged to shift outwards approaching the 350m point. Raced greenly in the home straight.
 
BUTWEDID – Raced greenly in the home straight.
 
Race 4: AQUIS STALLIONS CALAWAY GAL 1000 M
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, R. Dolan, rider of fourth place getter SOUAD lodged a protest alleging interference over the final 100m against third place getter SATIN STILETTO, ridden by D. Thornton. Stewards after considering evidence from all parties and viewing the available footage, determined that prior to the 100m, SOUAD whilst racing greenly, had shifted outwards towards SATIN STILETTO and became awkwardly placed at that runners’ heels and when being corrected, continued to race greenly, shifted in and bumped ACCELAR. Whilst SATIN STILETTO did shift in marginally approaching the 100m, Stewards determined that this had minimal bearing on the incident and subsequently dismissed the protest.
 
KAHLISEE – When asked to comment on today’s performance, Jockey S. Collett stated that it wasn’t her intention to settle so far forward, however, the filly raced fresh resulting in her settling in a forward position outside the leader. She further added that due to racing keenly KAHLISEE failed to finish off the race as expected and proved somewhat disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be lame in its near hind leg. Trainer C. Munce was advised KAHLISEE would require a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
 
PULPIT – Shifted in on jumping, bumping with A MILLION ROSES and became unbalanced. Raced greenly in the home straight.
 
ACCELAR – Raced wide throughout. Bumped approaching the 50m. Jockey M. Harley reported at scale that the filly travelled well throughout however when asked for an effort approaching the 250m the filly failed to quicken adding he was of the opinion it had peaked on its run.
 
BARBIE'S SISTER – Bumped after start.
 
A MILLION ROSES – Bumped on jumping. Hung out rounding the home turn. Rider B. Thompson reported the filly raced greenly throughout.
 
EL MORZILLO – Shifted in on jumping.
 
SATIN STILETTO – Obliged to alter course approaching the 300m.
 
SOUAD – Slow to begin. Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight. Approaching the 100m when racing greenly shifted out towards SATIN STILETTO before being corrected by its rider. A short distance later whilst continuing to race greenly and shifted in and away from SATIN STILETTO which shifted in marginally at that point and as a result SOUAD contacted ACCELAR.
 
Race 5: MAGIC MILLIONS QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP 1400 M
 
BEAUTANTES – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after contacting the outside fence of the course proper and was cleared to start. Raced wide throughout. Jockey B. Thompson advised it was his opinion the gelding had raced flat today and was disappointing. Trainer R Heathcote concurred with the comments of B. Thompson and advised he would give the gelding a freshen up and undertook to advise stewards of anything that may come to light in the following days. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slow post-race recovery.
 
TRIFLING – Began awkwardly. At the 300m shifted out to improve and brushed with BETTERLETMEDANCE.
 
VICTORY WIN – Began awkwardly. Steadied when the pace slackened near the 1000m.
 
MASTERPLAN – Raced wide throughout.
 
THE INFLICTOR – Slow to begin. Steadied when the pace slackened near the 1000m. Over raced in the middle stages. Apprentice M. Castle was fined $300 pursuant to AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip seven times prior to the 100m, two more than permitted.
 
BETTERLETMEDANCE – Bumped on jumping. Brushed passing the 300m.
 
JACK'S BOOM – Raced wide throughout.
 
SOUL LADY – Raced wide throughout.
 
EXOTIQUE MISS – Over raced in the middle stages.
 
Race 6: SKY RACING BRIBIE HANDICAP 1000 M
 
PRINCE OF BOOM – Raced wide throughout.
 
SMART IMAGE – Slow to begin.
 
MABEL – Near the 350m, shifted out and bumped STEADY READY. Held up approaching the winning post and was unable to be fully tested to the line.
 
ALL THAT PIZZAZZ – Raced wide throughout.
 
EF TROOP – Approaching the 150m, momentarily steadied when attempting to improve between PRINCE OF BOOM which shifted out marginally under pressure and RALPHIE which shifted in marginally under pressure.
 
OSAMU – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
STEADY READY – Raced in restricted room approaching the 600m to the inside of RUBIQUITOUS which was awkwardly placed to the inside heels of OSAMU which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. Approaching the 350m was bumped by MABEL which shifted out to improve.
 
RALPHIE – Slow to begin.
 
Race 7: LADBROKES JUST NOW 1300 M
 
STARTANTES – Restrained from a wide barrier to a rearward position.
 
EXTREMIST – Jockey R. Dolan was fined $300 pursuant to AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip six times prior to the 100m, one more than permitted.
 
BETTER GET SET – Jockey B. Thompson advised at scale he had hoped to settle in a more forward position, however, he was obliged to allow SAKURA GIRL (NZ) to cross in front of him approaching the 1100m when that runner was taken inwards by PER INAWAY (NZ) which shifted in. Carried wider rounding the home turn by SAKURA GIRL (NZ) when that runner was bumped by CHATTY LADY which shifted out to improve.
 
GLORIOUS RUBY – Began awkwardly, shifted in, and bumped LA SOEUR. Shifted out in the home straight.
 
LA SOEUR – Began awkwardly and was bumped shortly afterwards by GLORIOUS RUBY
 
DUCHESS BREE – Began awkwardly.
 
SAKURA GIRL (NZ) – Raced keenly approaching the 1100m, shifted out and bumped the hind quarters of PER INAWAY (NZ). Over raced for the majority of the event and proved difficult to settle. Carried wider rounding the home turn by CHATTY LADY which shifted out to improve. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled bilaterally. Trainer P. Robl was advised SAKURA GIRL (NZ) would now incur a 3 month ban from racing and would be required to gallop 1000m to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
 
ESSONNE – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
DEEP ROUGE – Carried outwards approaching the 200m when ESSONNE shifted out to improve.
 
CHATTY LADY – Shifted out in the home straight.
 
PER INAWAY – Shifted out under pressure over the final 300m.
 
Race 8: THE STAR GATEWAY 1400 M
 
THE VOWELS – Bumped after start. Raced wide throughout. Shifted in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight. Trainer T. Edmonds advised Stewards the gelding had sustained a minor laceration to the heel bulb of the near foreleg.
 
FREEDOM RALLY – Bumped after the start.
 
COCOBREW EXPRESS – Raced wide early.
 
WARBY – Approaching the 150m had difficulty securing clear running and was obliged to shift in to improve. Leaving the 50m was obliged to shift out and around MIDNIGHT IN TOKYO.
 
EPICUS – Shifted in on jumping, becoming unbalanced and bumped THE VOWELS. Raced wide throughout.
 
EKATERINA – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have sustained minor lacerations on both hind legs and was subsequently treated by the on-course veterinarian.
 
JOHN RAMBO – After being loaded into the barriers, became fractious, was removed, and underwent a veterinary examination and was subsequently cleared to start. Jockey R. Maloney reported the gelding felt awkward in its action during the event and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with trainer T. Gollan in the subsequent days.
 
MIDNIGHT IN TOKYO – Shifted in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
SUNSET SOIREE – Stood flat footed resulting in the mare losing considerable ground at the start. Trainer T. Gollan was advised the mare would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to racing again.
 
SEVENTIES HIT – Raced wide early.
 
Race 9: GEMLIFE DIAMOND DASH BENCHMARK 80 HANDICAP 1200 M
 
GO WANDJI – Improved onto heels approaching the 100m, shifted out to improve and brushed SELF INDULGENT.
 
DR WHY NOT – Jockey M. Murphy was reprimanded pursuant to AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip seven times prior to the 100m, two more than permitted.
 
GOGOL – Over raced approaching the 1000m. Leaving the 800m was checked and forced wider when OUR MAGNUS shifted outwards abruptly after improving onto the heels of another runner. Raced wide throughout.
 
OUR MAGNUS – Approaching the 1000m commenced to over race. Leaving the 800m whilst over racing, improved onto the heels of DELEXO and shifted out abruptly and raced three wide from that point onwards.
 
TITANIUM – Slow to begin.
 
DELEXO – Approaching the 1000m commenced to over race and shifted out when awkwardly placed on heels. Continued to over race until leaving the 700m. Obliged to steady when awkwardly placed at the heels of SELF INDULGENT over the final 50m.
 
STROLL – Jockey B. Thornton advised Stewards that the mare would appreciate a step up in distance in its next start and he was not disappointing in today’s performance.
 
HELLUVA BARTY – Approaching the 300m was obliged to shift inwards to secure clear running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be displaying clinical signs of heat stress.  
 
HOLLYWOOD NORTH – Hampered shortly after the start when racing in restricted room between DELEXO AND GOGOL. Approaching the 1000m hampered and had to be steadied when tightened for room between GOGOL and OUR MAGNUS which shifted out when over racing. Held up rounding the home turn. Jockey M. Rodd was reprimanded pursuant to AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip six times prior to the 100m, one more than permitted.
 
PACIFIC ATLANTIC – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 10: BRC MEMBERSHIP PLUS BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1500 M
 
CLYDE – Raced wide throughout.
 
DUKE OF BUCKINGHAM – Began awkwardly. Tired over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards intend to follow up with trainer C Meagher regarding the performance of the gelding.
 
BULLION BOY – Momentarily raced in restricted room to the inside of DUKE OF BUCKINGHAM leaving the 1300m. Jockey M. Murphy pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR 132(5) for using his whip 18 times in totality. Jockey M. Murphy’s license to ride in races was suspended for 7 days to commence midnight 9/12/2023 up to and including midnight 16/12/2023.
 
SEMAPHORE GIRL – Slow to begin.
 
TYRESA – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Trainer K. Schweida was advised TYRESA would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate after significantly delaying the start of the race due to proving very difficult to load.
 
ARTS OBJECT – Began awkwardly.
 
TUHINGA – Shifted out at the start and bumped COLLEAGUES (NZ).
 
COLLEAGUES (NZ) – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
STAR SEEKER – Raced wide until the 900m.
 
BRAVE MASO – Leaving the 1300m, had to be steadied when racing in restricted room to the inside of BULLION BOY when that runner shifted in and away from DUKE OF BUCKINGHAM. Apprentice M. Castle rider of DUKE OF BUCKINGHAM was reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(a) careless riding for failing to allow sufficient room to runner on her inside. Raced keenly passing the 1100m.
