GENERAL
Stewards accepted Apprentice Jockey S Blunts reasons for not being able to ride at her minimum riding weight at today’s meeting.Due to there being no other riders available to replace Apprentice Blunt, Stewards allowed Apprentice Blunt to raise her minimum riding weight to 56kg for today`s meeting.
 
Race1: GITSHAM RACING BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP BM60 1030 Metres.

COPPER SUNSET – Raced wide before securing a mid-field position on the rail passing the 500m.
 
SIP IT SLOW – Shifted wide on the home turn. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
GALACTUS – Underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination after connections reported to Stewards that the gelding had been kicked in the float, on route to the race meeting. The examination revealed GALACTUS to have received a minor laceration to the offside hind and was subsequently passed fit to start. Began awkwardly. Jumped outwards at the start. Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

I LOVE THIS HIPPY – Slow to begin. Began to over race approaching the 800m and shifted out off heels passing the 700m forcing JAIN wider on the track. Raced wide for the remainder of the event.
THREE STRIPES -  As there were no riders available to rideTHREE STRIPES at scratching time, the gelding was scratched from the event.

IGBO – Jumped inwards at the start and inconvenienced MAVERICK HENRY.

MAVERICK HENRY – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground when IGBO jumped inwards.

NO BETTER AFFAIRE – Shifted wide on the home turn.

KIRELLA SHORES – Tightened for room on jumping between GALACTUS which jumped outwards and MAVERICK HENRY which was forced inwards by  IGBO which jumped in at the start. KIRELLA SHORES had to be checked off heels and lost ground as a result.

JAIN - Passing the 700m, forced wider on the track by I LOVE THIS HIPPY. Raced wide for the remainder of the event.
 
Race 2: EIDSVOLD LIVESTOCK & PROPERTY CLASS B HANDICAP ClB 1200 Metres.

APACHE FLASH – Bumped on jumping. When over racing approaching the 1000m, improved on to the heels of MUSSEL LINES and shifted out.
 
KINGHAM – Began awkwardly and bumped APACHE FLASH. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
BLACK COUNTRY – Underwent a Veterinary examination after the race as a result of becoming cast in the tie up stalls. The examination revealed BLACK COUNTRY to have sustained lacerations to the near hind leg. The colt received treatment from the on-course Veterinarian. Trainer J Judge was advised BLACK COUNTRY would require a Veterinary Certificate before racing or trialling again.
 
MUSSEL LINES – Became fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Raced wide throughout. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have received minor lacerations to the off hind cannon bone. After this race, rider Apprentice Jockey S Willis was examined by the on course QAS officials after having signs of blood on her top lip and complaining of pain in her right foot. Apprentice Willis was cleared to fulfill her remaining engagements.
 
Race 3: PAST MEMBERS MEMORIAL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 3-Y-O & Up 1350 Metres.

DUSTYIAM – Raced wide throughout. Shifted in under pressure in the home straight.
 
FREE CHOICE – Began awkwardly and bumped CHAIRLIFT.
 
HEWRECKED'EM – Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early stages and progressed forward to find the lead passing the 1000m.
 
THE SNUGGLER – A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled both nostrils.Trainer B Andrew was advised THE SNUGGLER, pursuant to AR79(4), would receive a three month ban from racing and be required to complete a 1000m gallop in the presence of stewards before racing or trialling again. Trainer B Andrew reported to stewards that it would be his intension to retireTHE SNUGGLER from racing.
 
CHAIRLIFT – Bumped at the start. Shifted wider passing the 400m to obtain clear running.
 
Race 4: EIDSVOLD RURAL RATINGS BAND 0 - 50 HANDICAP 0 – 50 1350 Metres.

SPRITES – Slow to begin. Taken wider on the track passing the 1000m when READYENTIME shifted out to avoid heels. Shifted wider on the home turn. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
BODY AND SOUL – When asked to comment on the mare’s performance, Jockey C McIver reported that BODY AND SOUL began well but after being crossed by DANTE ALIGHIERI which progressed forward to take over the lead position passing the 1050m, the mare felt inclined to resent the kick back and failed to respond to his riding for the remainder of the race.
 
READYENTIME – Slow to muster speed early. Commenced to over race passing the 1000m and shifted out to avoid heels. Raced wide for the remainder of the event.
 
Race 5: SLATER'S ROAD SERVICES COUNTRY CUPS CHALLENGE QUALIFIER / EIDSVOLD CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1350 Metres.
Correct weight was delayed when the Fifthplacegetter, Jockey P Hamblin requested to review the patrol footage to ascertain whether he had grounds to lodge a protest against the Second placegetter TORBECK. After viewing the footage, Jockey P Hamblin advised he did not wish to proceed with the protest. Stewards declared correct weight on the Judges placings.
 
ECHO POINT – Held up entering the home straight. Disappointed for a run and was obliged to steady passing the 110m, when going for a narrow run between TORBRECK which shifted out marginally and KOBE ROCKS which laid in.
 
KOBE ROCKS – Laid in passing the 110m despite the efforts of its rider. Continued to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
AMMOUDI BAY – Slow to begin.
 
TORBRECK – Shifted out marginally passing the 110m before being straightened by its rider.
 
A FIGHTING FURY – After making contact with a mounting yard gate when going on to the track, underwent a Veterinary examination at the barriers and was passed suitable to race. Raced wide throughout.
 
MAKEDON – Momentarily raced in restricted room and had to be steadied when BULLETIN shifted in passing the 1200m. Raced wide throughout. Hung out on the home turn.
 
BULLETIN (USA) – Shifted in passing the 1200m momentarily placing MAKEDON in restricted room. Apprentice jockey S Blunt was advised to show more care when shifting ground.
