Race 1:  Hungry Possum Catering Class B Handicap 1020m:
FRENCH AMOUR - Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by Trainer Mr. M Whitehouse for the late engagement of rider J Lambie. Began awkwardly.
FRENCH AMOUR – Began awkwardly.
SUPER SILENT – Slowly into stride. Raced wide the majority.
HEY I’M READY – Slowly into stride.
REVERENCE – Hung out the majority. Slightly inconvenienced by another runner which shifted out approaching the winning post.
JOHNNY FIX IT – Shifted out approaching the winning post slightly inconveniencing another runner. Jockey F Edwards was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Race 2: David Collins Memorial W Titley & Co/Mareeba Yamaha Benchmark 65 Handicap 1220m:
YIFAN - Was inspected behind the barriers by the Veterinarian and passed fit to start. Slowly into stride.
SPIRITED SAINT – Knuckled over on jumping and lost ground.
TOXICITY - Slowly into stride. Raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages.
OUR KAPOW - Raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages.
Race 3: The Lynd Oasis Roadhouse QTIS Maiden  Plate 1220m:
ZEDAHEEL – Was inspected pre-race by the Veterinarian and passed fit to start. Fractious in barriers. Slowly away after beginning awkwardly.
NUROCITY – Was slowly away. Raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages.
ANAKIE – Lost ground after being crowded between runners on jumping.
ROGUE ALLEY - Lost ground after being crowded between runners on jumping.
NEED FINANCE – Trainer’s Representative Mr. P Rowe reported that the filly had jarred up on today’s firm surface.
Race 4: Soda Creek Station MM/FNQ U&C Stayers Benchmark 55 Handicap 1370m:
WILD DIVA – Reluctant to load. Had to be restrained when racing in restricted room near the 1000m. Trainer Mr. A Malliff was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s barrier manners.
DEE MINISHING – Stood flat-footed as the barriers opened. Missed start 6 lengths. Trainer Mr. M Whitehouse was advised that the mare must obtain two (2) barrier certificates prior to being permitted to race again.
OUR RECIPE – Reared as the barriers opened and lost ground. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Was inclined to lay out rounding the home turn.
An objection lodged by Jockey F Edwards who rode 3rd placegetter SHORT TERM against 1st placegetter UNION JUKEBOX (S Wilson) alledging interference in the home straight was dismissed. Stewards, although acknowledging that the 2 runners had made contact at the entrance to the home straight, were of the opinion that margin of one (1) length which separated the 2 horses at the finish was in excess of any momentum or ground lost by SHORT TERM in the incident. Correct weight was declared on the judge’s placings.
Race 5: Genex Power Einasleigh Cup Open  Handicap 1620 metres:
MAJOR MAJOR -  Was slowly away. Jockey F Edwards advised that the gelding had not been suited by the tight circuit and was also reluctant to stretch out on the firm surface.
BLU AXIS – Was slowly away.
SHEKOU – Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Was wide rounding the home turn.
REGAL ROTH – Was wide rounding the home turn.
