Race 1: The Irish Village BenchMark 50 Handicap 1000m
 
MADAM PINK – Connections advised that they may elect to vary their tactics and attempt to ride the mare with cover. After begining reasonably and racing wide for a short distance, it was the restrained and obtained cover.
 
A LITTLE WICKED – Steadied from heels near the 600 meters.
 
EXELCAT – Fractious in the gates.
 
DRAGONMOSS – Hung out throughout the event and approaching the 450 meter mark, hung out again and had to be steadied from the heels of a tiring runner.
 
EXCEL WITH REWARD – Tired over the concluding stages.
 
METEOR’S MAN – Hung out throughout the event.
 
Race 2: Like Us on FaceBook BenchMark 65 Handicap 1000m
 
The start was delayed when Jockey D Simmons was dislodged in the mounting yard. Jockey Simmons was assessed by the on course ambulance officers and cleared to fulfil his engagement.
 
GUTZ CI – Stewards approved a late rider declaration of Jockey K Aho for acceptable reasons.
 
POETIC SHOW – Fractious in the barriers and began slowly.
 
DIAMOND DISTRICT – Jumped awkwardly and was slow to muster speed.
 
Race 3: Sponsorships Available Maiden Plate 1100m
 
CORNWAL COAST – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
SWEET NOTE – Slowly away. Bled from both nostrils on return to the enclosure. Connections were advised that the gelding would be banned from racing for a period of 3 months and must perform a 1000 meter gallop to the satisfaction of stewards prior to racing again. Trainer R West advised stewards that he would now retire the gelding.
 
HAMMERFEST – Jumped awkwardly.
 
SOME FAIRY SONG – Tightened after the start and held up for clear running inside the last 100 meters.
 
MURTAHOME – Tightened after the start, over raced and steadied from heels near the 800 meters. Held up approaching the home turn.
 
SOME SUNNYDAY – Jumped awkwardly.
 
Race 4: Bench Mark 60 Handicap 1300m
 
Jockey D Simmons declared himself unfit to fulfil his remaining engagements. He was replaced as per the stewards race day summary. Jockey D Simmons was advised he would require a medical certificate prior to race riding again.
 
ATEACES – Steadied from heels near the 600 meters and lost ground.
 
STAREENA – Slowly away and lost ground.
 
MONO LAD – Jumped awkwardly.
 
OAKFIELD MIDNIGHT – Shifted out under pressure in the run to the finish.
 
 
 
Race 5: Easter Saturday Races Here Class B Handicap 1300m
 
Jockey M Barnham (DOUBLE JAY GOLD) advised stewards that he was unable to fulfil his engagement due to illness and was replaced by Jockey D Evans. Jockey M Barnham was advised that he will require a medical certificate prior to race riding again.
 
As Jockey D Simmons was unfit to take his ride due to an incident in an early race, App. M Wishart was replaced as rider of ONEMORETWOLESS.
 
CAPELLA – Reared over and made heavy contact with the ground on two occasions was subsequently scratched by the direction of stewards at 4:00pm. Deductions were as follows:
 
20 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets
20 cents in the dollar on the face value place bets for the winner
20 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets
18 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place bets
 
 
CRAIGLEA COPPER – Steadied from heels never the 600 meters and lost ground.
 
VIV’S WINGS – Over raced early.
 
SPY CI – Bumped by another runner shortly after the start.
