Race 1: EMERALD JOCKEY CLUB QTIS MDN PLT – 1000M
 
DISCO DOUGIE –Laid in rounding the home turn and in the home straight.
 
IQELA –In the vicinity of the 500m, had to be checked when crossed by DULACCA JACK who was taken in by DISCO DOUGIE. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
DULACCA JACK – Jumped awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. In the vicinity of the 500m, had to be restrained to avoid heels after shifting in abruptly when carried in by DISCO DOUGIE who laid in rounding the home turn.
 
GEM SETTER – Slow to begin. When questioned regarding performance, jockey B Richardson stated that her mount never travelled at any stage of the rest and when asking for an effort, GEM SETTER responded poorly and failed to make any real ground. She further stated that as her mount was not responding to her urgings, she elected to not place GEM SETTER under any further pressure over the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
 
Race 2: SOUTHERN CROSS TERMITE & PEST CONTROL BM55 HCP – 1000M
 
MUIRON – Laid out throughout.
 
BROOK’S PLEASURE – When questioned regarding performance, jockey E Smith stated after being slow to begin, her mount failed to travel at any stage of the race and went to the line in a disappointing manner. She further stated that as the mare wasn’t responding to her urgings, she elected to not place BROOK’S PLEASURE under any pressure over the concluding stages. Trainer G Bell stated that BROOK’S PLEASURE had pleased in its work leading up to today’s event and could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. She added that she would now consider the mare’s immediate racing future and report back to stewards in the days subsequent. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
MANILA MISS – Underwent a pre-race veterinary check after a lengthy spell and passed fit to start. Held up approaching the 100m and had to shift to the inside to obtain clear running.
 
LUCKY BEE – Slow to begin.
 
STRYKING PRINCESS – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after competing in the past seven days and passed fit to start.
 
BABYLON EXPRESS – Slow to begin.
 
Race 3: EJC MEMBER APPRECIATION BM55 HCP – 1000M
 
BURDEN – Bumped on jumping with CASSAVANCE. Raced wide throughout.
 
ACADEMY HILL – Had to be steadied approaching the winning post when BOUND TO ME shifted in.
 
TYRANNIZE – Momentarily held up approaching the 250m and was inclined to shift wider on the track to gain clear running.
 
CASSAVANCE – Bumped on jumping with BURDEN. Raced wide throughout.
 
ISIS JECTALE – Trainer K Miller was fined $200 under AR181 for failing to scratch ISIS JECTALE by the prescribed time. ISIS JECTALE was subsequently withdrawn by stewards at 8.15am.
 
RAINBOW SPARKLES – Slow to begin.
 
Race 4: TWO AT A THYME CATERING BM60 HCP – 1200M
 
HARAMAIN – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
ART OF DANCE – When questioned regarding tactics adopted, jockey E Smith stated that her instructions were to be positive and race close to the lead, as these had been the instructions when she had previously ridden the mare. She added on the previous occasion that she had ridden ART OF DANCE, the mare had suffered interference at the start, which had hindered its ability to race in a more positive position. Trainer G Bell concurred with the statements of E Smith and added that after the performance today, it would continue this racing pattern. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
HARBOUR TRICK – Rider A Butler reported that his mount hung out throughout and placed him at a disadvantage for the entirety of the race. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Z Hohn was advised a warning would be placed on the record of the gelding.
 
STATIC LIFT – Slow to muster speed. Raced wide in the early stages.
 
TOM’S STAR – Bumped on jumping. When questioned regarding performance, jockey S Wiseman stated that the gelding didn’t travel at all during the event and elected not to place TOM’S STAR under any further pressure in the home straight once he failed to respond to her riding. She further stated that her mount didn’t handle the firm surface out wider and also the drop back in distance from a 1600m race wasn’t ideal for TOM’S STAR. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

PLAIN ‘N’ SIMPLE – Bumped on jumping.
 
 
Race 5: WOODS TYRE SERVICE OPEN PLT – 1300M
 
FRUGAL – A post race veterinary examination of the gelding, which weakened noticeably in the straight, revealed no abnormalities.
 
Race 6: REGAL FENCING CL B HCP – 1615M
 
ASK NINO – When questioned regarding the poor performance, jockey Z White stated that her mount travelled well throughout the race, however when asked for an effort ASK NINO didn’t respond and was disappointing from that point onwards. Trainer K Miller stated that ASK NINO would now be sent for an immediate spell. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
NYMERIA – Slow to begin.
 
METTRE LE FEU – Underwent a pre race veterinary examination after competing in the last seven days and passed fit to start.
 
REAL DEAL MCENEILL – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. As this was the second time REAL DEAL MCNEILL has bled, it was now barred from racing and Trainer G Bell was notified of the provisions of AR79(4)
 
GREY FALCON – Slow to begin.
 
SHAKA DIAMOND – Slow to muster speed.
