RACE 1: MCNEIL FARMS CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1400M

BEAUFORT GYRE – Bumped at the start. Overraced in the early stages. Overraced in the early stages.

COME BY OFTEN – Slow to begin. N. Evans was given the opportunity to explain the performance of the gelding. He stated that his mount overraced in the early and middle stages of the race and at a point near the 500 shifted wider on the track to improve, however the gelding was immediately under pressure and failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointed.

BURLEIGH BULLET – Began awkwardly and shifted out, bumping another runner.


RACE 2: GATTON VIEW HOTEL F&M MAIDEN PLATE – 1100M

PETE’S BELLE – Became unbalanced and slipped over when being unloaded from the horse transport vehicle after arriving at the course. The filly was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.

LUSHY – As R. McMahon failed to arrive on course to fulfil his engagement, he was replaced by S. Bogenhuber as the rider of the horse. R. McMahon will be interviewed at a later date regarding this matter. Tightened for room on jumping away and steadied a short distance later, losing ground.

STAR OF BETHLEHEM – Tightened for room at the star and lost ground.
FAREWELL ANNA - Tightened for room at the start between runners at the start.

AGNUS ROSE - Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

LIGHT ‘N’ SHADE - Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.

STAR STRIDER - Tightened for room at the start. Overraced near the 900m and had to be steadied. Disappointed for a run approaching the 150m to the inside of DAME DEMMI, which shifted in under hard riding. S. Eilbeck, rider of DAME DEMMI, was severely reprimanded and advised to stop riding and straighten her mounts in similar circumstances.

CHASTE ANGEL – Raced wide throughout.


RACE 3: LOCKYER PRODUCE CG&E MAIDEN PLATE – 1100M

Correct weight was delayed to allow A. Merritt, rider the second placegetter, to view the stewards patrol film over the concluding stages to ascertain if he had grounds to lodge an objection against ROCKDAY being declared the winner. Subsequently, jockey Merritt declined to lodge a protest and correct weight was semaphored on the Judge’s placings.

SECRET LISTENER – As the gelding had not started for a long period of time, the horse was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Raced 3 wide for the majority of the race.

ROCKDAY – After being late on course due to transport difficulties, the colt was examined by the veterinary surgeon and was subsequently cleared to start. Bumped on jumping away.

SUPREME VOLTAGE – Bumped on jumping away.

CRIMSON GOD – Slow to begin.

ROYAL EPIC – Had to be checked shortly after the start to avoid the heels of TRIPLE WON, which was taken out by NICE TIME. A post-race veterinary examination of the horse which had not started for some time and finished a distant last, failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. R. Peterson was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding regarding its competitiveness at TAB meetings.

NICE TIME – Had to be checked leaving the 400m when racing greenly and bumped by another runner and shifted out, becoming awkward on the heels of TRIPLE WON.

ALL OF US – Raced 3 wide for the majority of the race.


RACE 4: XXXX GOLD QTIS 2YO MAIDEN PLATE – 860M

CRAIGLEA PISTOL – Declared a late scratching at 12.30 pm on veterinary advice after being injured en route to the track.

EFFECTIVE ASSASSIN – Raced greenly for the majority of the race.

LAKOUDIS – After being fractious in the barriers began awkwardly causing rider N. Day to lose his right iron for a short distance, resulting in the gelding losing considerable ground. Trainer C. O’Neill was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s barrier manners.

HONEY BABE – Slow to begin.

TEAM STEPHENSON – Slow to begin.

REVERSE LOGIC – Hung in when placed under pressure in the home straight, proving difficult to ride out.

SHAZZAN – Raced greenly for the majority of the race and hung out rounding the home turn.

SEQ THE STAR – Hung in under pressure over the concluding stages.

REAL NAUGHTY – Jockey J. Morris was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts right out to the finish of the race.


RACE 5: AR GATTON CLASS 1 H’CAP – 860M

DANNI’S DIVA – Examined by the veterinary surgeon and found to have bled from the off-side nostril. Subsequent to the event, all monies invested on Danni’s Diva were ordered to be refunded, with the following deductions applicable.

12 cents in the dollar for the Win #4
11 cents in the dollar for place of winner #4
12 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #7
15 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #11

SP subject to deduction.

Trainer M. Frappell was advised that the horse must perform satisfactorily in the 1000m gallop before stewards prior to being permitted to race again.

SUPER SORTED – Raced in restricted room for a short distance approaching the 600m to the inside of WHATEVER MISS, which shifted in. Apprentice A. Van Der Sanden was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

LIFE’S LIKE THAT – Hung out near the 500m and again hung out leaving the 400m.

WHATEVER MISS – Raced wide throughout.





RACE 6: OZ LAV PLUMBING CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1100M

SAGACIOUS FLAME – Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer Mr C. Anderson for the late declaration of A. Spinks as the rider for the horse. Checked near the 850m to avoid the heels of RUFFO, which hung out despite the efforts of its rider.

JERROCITY – Shifted in at the start, making contact with another runner. Inconvenienced near the 600m.

WESTBURY ROAD – Shifted out at the start, bumping another runner.

RUFFO – Began awkwardly. Commenced to hang out leaving the 900m, forcing TRADE MARKER wide on the track. Trainer N. Hilton was advised that the gelding would be sent for an immediate spell, however was advised that the horse must trail satisfactorily in an official trial before being permitted to race again. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities other than the horse lost its near fore plate in running.

TEMUJIN’S QUEEN – Had to be steadied leaving the 600m to avoid heels and shifted out.

WESTBURY ROAD – Shifted out to obtain clear running leaving the 500m, forcing TEMUJIN’S QUEEN wider.



RACE 7: ROYAL GEORGE HOTEL ROSEWOOD CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1400M

BEST SHOT – Began awkwardly.

QUEEN’S LEGEND – Raced in restricted room near the 300 between NANDINE ROAD and THE A LISTER, which shifted out. R. Ride, rider of THE A LISTER, was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.

SPURSYN – Inclined to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages.


RACE 8: LOCKYER VALLEY GROWERS RACEDAY SAT 28.8.15 RATINGS BAND 0-62 H’CAP – 1600M

HANGOVER TOO – Slow to begin.

CROSS THE STAR – Slow to begin.

BLUE MINI – Began awkwardly and shifted out at the start.

ROYAL EVENT – Had to be steadied when tightened for room at the start.

ONE LUCKY SHEILA – Checked and lost its position near the 1100m. Forced to steady when tightened for room near the 200m.
CREDIT ONLY – Shifted out under pressure near the 200m, tightening the running of another runner. Rider G. Goold was severely reprimanded and advised to show greater care when shifting ground.

HALO SHINE – Apprentice M. Powell pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that near the 1200m he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of AUGUST BISHOP, which had to be checked and shift out away from the heels of HALO SHINE. Apprentice Powell was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 6 meetings, to commence at midnight, 12 July and to expire at midnight, 24 July 2015.

AUGUST BISHOP – Jockey C. Maund was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that near the 1100m he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount shifting in when not fully clear of CREDIT ONLY, which was taken in, tightening the running of ONE LUCKY SHEILA, which had to be checked and lose its position. Jockey Maund was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 6 meetings, to commence at midnight, 5 July and to expire at midnight, 17 July 2015.

ROYAL EVENT – Apprentice C. Schmidt was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that near the 400m she directed her mount outwards when not clear of BLUE MINI, which was forced outwards to avoid that runner’s heels. AMAIZING DRAGON, which was following, was obliged to shift wider on the track to also avoid heels. Apprentice Schmidt was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 6 meetings, to commence at midnight, 12 July, and to expire at midnight, 24 July 2015.
