As LEMESEE and NORTHERN CUISINE were resuming after a long period away from racing, both horses were examined by the vet prior to Race 1 and cleared to race.

RUBY’S MY NAME – Slow to jump

NORTHERN CUISINE – Checked when crowded by another runner near 700m

ALL HYPE – Checked when bumped and crowded for room by another runner near 700m

Stewards inquired into an incident which occurred approaching the 700m mark whereby NORTHERN CUISINE (J Missen) and ALL HYPE (B Ainsworth) were both checked and lost ground.
Apprentice jockey S Palmer was found guilty to a charge of careless riding in that approaching the first turn at the 700m mark he allowed his mount, EVERINGHAM, to shift in when insufficiently clear of NORTHERN CUISINE (J Missen) which had to be checked and in doing so was taken in and made contact with ALL HYPE (B Ainsworth), which also had to be checked. Apprentice S Palmer’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of (2 non-tab meetings) commencing midnight 29-08-15 up to and including midnight 05-09-15. Apprentice S Palmer was advised of his rights of appeal.

RACE 3: FAIRBANK SEEDS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 860M
1st – Casual Connections 2nd – Jeptoo 3rd – Mustola Gold 4th – Dangerous Danica

Stewards inquired into the late nomination, acceptance and scratching of WHATEVER MISS. Trainer, Mr B Hudson, explained that the filly had not eaten up over the past 48 hours and therefore in the best interest and welfare of the filly he elected to scratch her from the race. Stewards accepted his explanation but advised Mr Hudson to not leave himself open to question where he could be in breach of Rule LR38.

MUSTOLA GOLD – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.

Correct weight was delayed to allow the connections and rider of the second-placed horse to view the photo finish image. After doing so all parties were satisfied with the photo finish print and stewards declared correct weight on the numbers semaphored by the judge.

After continuous rain, Stewards downgraded the track further to a SOFT 7 after race 5.
