RED LINES – When questioned regarding the tactics adopted and the manner in which he rode the mare, apprentice M. Schrapel stated that after being slow into stride the mare settled further back than anticipated and at a point passing the 400m he was of the view that to shift wider to improve was not the best option at that stage and therefore he elected to wait in anticipation that a run would come to the inside as horses fanned around the home turn. He added that upon straightening a run did appear for him to improve, albeit a narrow run, and in his opinion he felt it was not safe for him to improve at that stage into that run and therefore only applied minimal pressure to his mount. Whilst accepting the explanation, stewards nevertheless informed apprentice Schrapel not to leave his riding open to question regarding the way in which he pressures his mounts in the run to the line.

A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

CASSE BLEU – Raced wide throughout without cover.

CHOIX DE ROSES – When questioned regarding his tactics, J. Oliver advised that the mare began fairly from a wide alley and his instructions were to ride the mare back, however after obtaining a position near the rear of the field he was of the view that he would have had to apply too much pressure to the mare to obtain a run to the outside 500m from home and therefore he elected to wait until approaching the final turn before asking his mount for an effort. He added that in his opinion the mare ran home fairly and indicated that if the mare had drawn a more favourable barrier it may have finished in a better position.
