Race 1: LOCKYER VALLEY PAINTING – JASON DIETE CLASS 2 PLATE – 860M
 
PUNDIT – Hampered on jumping away. Steadied near the 700m after improving onto the heels of GLOBAL FACTOR which shifted in marginally.  
 
LADY CHICAGO – Slow into stride.
 
SHADWELL FLYER – Raced wide throughout.
 
YOUR OPTION – Raced wide throughout.
 
ARROW EXPRESS – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
GLOBAL FACTOR – Hampered on jumping away.
 
Race 2: NOLAN’S INTERSTATE TRANSPORT CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1400M
 
ON A HIGH – Hung out near the 1100m resulting in THE GROOM, which was racing to the inside of TYCOON LAYLA, being tightened for room and losing ground.
 
BEACH DRUM – Raced 3 wide for the majority.
 
COOK STRAIGHT – Overraced in the middle stages. Disappointed for a run between ON A HIGH and TYCOON LAYLA near the 150m and, as a result, had to shift in to secure clear running.
 
KENDALL’S DREAM – Slow into stride.  
 
TYCOON LAYLA – Steadied near the 1100m after being slightly tightened for room by BROWN LINES.
 
BROWN LINES – Made the home turn awkwardly and shifted out whilst tiring.
 
Race 3: GATTON, LOCKYER & BRISBANE  VALLEY STAR QTIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1100M
 
SYNDRUM – Slow into stride and then shifted in abruptly. Steadied from heels near the 800m.
 
LOTZA – Slow into stride. Shifted in near the 800m and tightening  SYNDRUM.
 
LIPS – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
SEMAPHORE GIRL – Slow into stride. Held up between the 500m and the 200m.
 
MISS BANG – Raced wide throughout.
 
SANDY TOWN – Slow into stride and lost several lengths. Raced wide throughout. Shifted in over the final 100m.
 
RANGER SUZIE – Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be exhibiting an abnormal upper respiratory noise. Trainer G. Osborne was advised that the filly will require a veterinary clearance prior to next racing.
 
DIVINE ESSIE – Commenced to weaken from the 500m.
 
Race 4: AGRICULTURAL REQUIREMENTS BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP – 1100M
 
SHEAR VOGUE – Began awkwardly and shifted in causing tightening to LAWZI.
 
RIVER FLYER – Shifted in under pressure over the final 150m.
 
DEEP SONG – Began awkwardly and shifted out inconveniencing TIN’S POCKET which clipped heels and blundered.
 
OVERGROWN – Checked and lost ground leaving the 800m.
 
TIN’S POCKET – Began awkwardly.
 
VANZANT – Tightened between runners shortly after the start and was momentarily inconvenienced.
 
Stewards inquired into an incident leaving the 600m where it appeared that OVERGROWN (E. Ljung) and LWAZI (Apprentice C. Frater-Hill) were both checked and lost ground. After taking evidence from P. Romeo (TIN’S POCKET), E. Ljung and Apprentice C. Frater-Hill, jockey Romeo pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 131(a) in that he was careless when moving from a rail position to a 3 wide position resulting in OVERGROWN and LWAZI being tightened and checked. Jockey Romeo’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 9 days to commence at midnight on Saturday 20 April 2019 and conclude at midnight on Monday 29 April 2019. In determining penalty, Stewards took into consideration jockey Romeo’s guilty plea and his prior good record in relation to this rule.
 
Stewards inquired into an incident near the 850m where it appeared that Apprentice M. Shimodaira, the rider of FAVORITE SHADOW, was obliged to check his mount. After taking evidence from Apprentice M. Wishart (SHEAR VOGUE), Apprentice J. Hodge (DEEP SONG) and Apprentice M. Shimodaira (FAVORITE SHADOW), Apprentice M. Wishart was issued with a severe reprimand under AR. 131(a) in that she allowed her mount to shift in forcing DEEP SONG inwards which resulted in FAVORITE SHADOW being tightened for room and steadied.
 
Race 5: ROCK TRADE INDUSTRIES MAIDEN H’CAP – 1400M
 
COMPLETE TRUST – Shifted wider on the track after making the turn near the 1100m awkwardly which resulted in WHERE’S THE MONEY being forced wider on the track. Raced wide throughout.
 
TAKEMEOUTBACK – Overraced in the early stages.
 
SATURN OPS – Hampered near the 1000m.
 
WHERE’S THE MONEY – Held up approaching the 400m.
 
TONY’S DECREE – Overraced and got its head in the air in the early stages. Shifted wider on the track whilst overracing passing the 1100m, before shifting inwards and tightening SATURN OPS.
 
STRONG DESIRE – Checked and lost ground approaching the 800m. Jockey J. King pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 131(a) in that whilst racing in a 3 wide position approaching the 800m he continued to apply undue pressure on TAKEMEOUTBACK (S. Apthorpe) which resulted in that runner being forced inwards onto STRONG DESIRE (K. Yoshida) which was checked and lost ground. Jockey King’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days to commence at midnight on Saturday 20 April 2019 and conclude at midnight on Monday 29 April 2019. In determining penalty, Stewards took into consideration jockey King’s guilty plea and his prior good record in relation to this rule.
 
LITTLE BEE – Slow into stride.
 
MOLINARI – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground.
 
Race 6: GATTON CUP 1ST JUNE CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1600M
 
The start of this race was delayed when CLOWN IN THE MOON proved difficult to load.
 
NOWISEVERYTHING – Apprentice J. Hodge accidentally dropped his whip near the 250m.
 
RED MONKEY – Slow into stride.
 
ROCKING OSSIE – Slow into stride. Shifted in near the 800m.
 
SOLITARY ROSE – Steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of MEGASHOT approaching the home turn. Held up for some distance passing the 200m.
 
ROCKY HALO – Slow into stride. Tightened for room and lost ground near the 800m.
 
Race 7: PORTERS PLAINLAND HOTEL BENCHMARK 62 H’CAP – 2000M
 
LOOKIN’ AT YOU – Inconvenienced near the 500m by JOUEUR which was tiring at that point.
 
FLYNN EFFECT – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority.
 
DAZZLE EM SID – Improved onto heels leaving the 800m before shifting wider on the track. Steadied when awkwardly placed at heels near the 350m.
 
JOUEUR – Began awkwardly.
