Correct weight was delayed for Stewards to consider an application from trainer G. Doughty to have AGENT OF MAYHEM declared a non-runner on the grounds the gelding was not afforded a fair start. After considering evidence from starter K. Watson and viewing the official race footage, Stewards were of the opinion that AGENT OF MAYHEM reared whilst being attended and upon the gelding returning to the ground, the attendant released his hold affording AGENT OF MAYHEM the opportunity to jump with the field. Therefore, AGENT OF MAYHEM was declared a starter and correct weight declared on the judges’ placings. Trainer G. Doughty was advised a warning would be placed against the barrier manners of the gelding.

AVENUE OF STARS – When asked if there was an opportunity to steady her mount in the middle stages, apprentice Y.
