Stewards approved the following overweight allowances at today’s meeting:
 
Race 1 – DROPS FROM THE SKY – L. Miller +0.5kg (55.5kg)
Race 3 – WHISKEY DANCER – J. Guthmann-Chester +1kg (56kg)
Race 9 – ART HEIST – W. D’Avila +1kg (55kg)

Race 1: HOLLINDALE 11 MAY ON SALE MAIDEN HANDICAP 1900 M
 
JUNGLE JET (NZ) – When asked to comment, Jockey N. Callow could offer no explanation and was disappointed in the performance.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.  
 
LAZARUS – Approaching the home turn, raced in restricted room when tiring to the inside of SISTINE CHAPEL. Jockey M. Butler was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
PUSH TURBO – Raced wide near the 1500m turn.
 
DROPS FROM THE SKY – Slow to begin. Laid in over the concluding stages.
 
WITH DIAMONDS – Began awkwardly.
 
Race 2: MOULDY'S FOUR DECADE DASH QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1050 M
 
HORRIBLE HANK – Rounding the home turn, obliged to steady from the heels of GIRL AMONG MANY which was taken out slightly by TELLS ME TO (G. Goomany). Jockey G. Goomany was advised to exercise greater care.
 
BLIND DESIRE – Trainer B. Laming was reprimanded pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to notify a rider within the prescribed time. Raced wide rounding the first turn and continued to race very wide for the remainder. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer’s representative was advised that the filly would be required to officially trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to next racing.
 
FRAMED IT – Apprentice O. Webb reported her mount was inclined to lay out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
GIRL AMONG MANY – Laid out rounding the home turn. Steadied leaving the 200m when SINGED raced greenly and shifted out.
 
SINGED – Raced greenly in the home straight.
 
TELLS ME TO – Jockey G. Goomany reported his mount was inclined to lay out at various stages.
 
ZEPHYRZ ZOOM – Difficult to load. Trainer B. Gentle was advised that a warning would be placed on the filly’s barrier manners. Momentarily steadied near the 900m when HAMILTON BROWN (J. Guthmann-Chester) shifted in. Jockey J. Guthmann-Chester was advised to exercise greater care.
 
Race 3: JONKER FIRST WEANLINGS BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP 1050 M

FULL CRY – Jockey A. Spinks reported his mount was inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight obliging him to stop and correct his mount.
 
FULLHAM – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from both nostrils on the first occasion. Trainer T. Edmonds was advised that the mare would now incur a 3-month ban from racing and would be required to gallop 1000m/trial/jumpout in the presence of a Steward prior to resuming racing.
 
Race 4: MEMBERS & MATES GCTC 29 JUNE BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1540 M
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards considered an objection lodged by jockey R. Jamieson the rider of the second placed ALL’S FAIR against KERCHAK (J. Guthmann-Chester) being declared the winner, alleging interference over the concluding stages. Stewards after hearing evidence from the relevant parties and viewing the stewards patrol footage, found that approaching the finishing line KERCHAK had shifted in considerably, making contact with ALL’S FAIR which also shifted out approaching the finishing line, contributing to the contact between runners. Stewards when considering movement from KERCHAK and ALL’S FAIR and the proximity to the finish line,dismissed the objection, and correct weight was given on the judges semaphored numbers.
 
PRIME IMPACT – Began awkwardly. Jockey M. Palmer dropped his whip near the 100m.
 
ZOOMURUDI – Held up rounding the home turn. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running before being obliged to steady when placed in restricted racing room leaving the 100m.
 
SHADYVALE STORM – Laid in near the 100m.
 
KERCHAK (NZ) – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after twisting a plate on route to the track and was cleared to start. Shifted in on jumping, bumped and became unbalanced. Near the 800m, carried wider when WHISTLING SPIRIT shifted out after steadying off heels. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Laid in approaching the finishing line contacting ALL’S FAIR.
 
PERNELL – Held up from the home turn until passing the 200m.
 
WHISTLING SPIRIT – Shifted out on jumping and bumped. Improved onto heels passing the 800m, raced ungenerously and shifted out.
 
ALL'S FAIR – Raced wide until the 1000m. Laid out approaching the finish line, contacting KERCHAK.
 
HIT 'EM UP – Hampered between runners on jumping. Inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 5: CRICKET GOLD COAST MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200 M
 
LA STELLA ATLETA – Trainer L. Gough was fined $100 pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to notify a rider within the prescribed time.
 
PEARL IN HAY – Bounded on jumping, shortly thereafter hampered between runners and lost ground. Raced wide throughout. Laid out near the 750m and again approaching the home turn.
 
RICHKISS – Slow to begin.
 
DESTINY DALAI – Shifted out on jumping. Raced wide throughout. Bumped rounding the home turn.
 
ANOTHERLOVELYDAY – Raced wide throughout. Bumped rounding the home turn.
 
I AM AMAZES – Raced wide throughout. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
AMONG US – Trainer S. Sixtus was reprimanded pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to notify a rider within the prescribed time. Shortly after the start, bumped on the hind quarters and became unbalanced.
 
KURABENII – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having not started for a long period of time and was passed fit to start. Began awkwardly.
 
Race 6: LIFEFLIGHT LOTTERIES QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1200 M
DELIBES – Refused to load into the barriers and was declared a late scratching at 2:48pm. Upon the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies invested on DELIBES be refunded with the following deductions to apply –  
 
1st place –11c the win, 9c the place
2nd place – 10c the place
3rd place – 15c the place
 
Trainer M. Brosnan was advised that the gelding would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to next racing.
 
CASABLANCA – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
DESTINY GUNGHO – Bumped on jumping. Bumped with SONO PRONTO rounding the home turn.
 
GINGERBREAD BOY – Stewards permitted the gelding to not race in a tongue tie as advertised as it could not be affixed. Slow to begin and then bumped and lost ground.
 
PARCHEMIN – Raced wide throughout.
 
SNAG DA BEANS – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Inclined to lay in during the early stages.
 
SONO PRONTO – Began very awkwardly and shifted in. Rounding the home turn, bumped and became unbalanced.
 
SHE'S A FERRARI – Checked between runners at the start and lost ground.
 
Race 7: TAB BETS FRIENDS GCTC BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1900 M
 
SAINT MARTIN – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
THE SEEKER – Obliged to steady approaching the finishing line when FAT FINGERS shifted in.
 
THE WELLIAN – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Slow to begin. Jockey W. D’Avila dropped his whip leaving the 200m.
 
FAT FINGERS (NZ) – Laid in approaching the finishing line.
 
BUMP'N'RUN – Raced wide until the 1300m.
 
Race 8: TAB WE'RE ON BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1540 M
 
APPLE CIDER – Began awkwardly. Near the 800m, raced in restricted room to the inside of THE KHAN. Helf up approaching the home turn.
 
STORMTROOPER – Laid in under pressure in the home straight obliging its rider to stop and straighten on a number of occasions.
 
AGRIMONY (GB) – Hampered between runners shortly after the start.
 
LIVINGSTONES – When asked to comment, Jockey N. Callow could offer no explanation and was disappointed in the performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer P. Barron was advised that the gelding would be required to officially trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to next racing.
 
AU REVOIR – Connections advised that it is the intention for the mare to be ridden further forward if circumstances permit. After beginning awkwardly and being caught wide, was unable to obtain a forward position. Raced wide.
 
FIVE STAR DECANTER (NZ) – Near the 1400m, after being caught wide, steadied and restrained to obtain cover. Raced wide.
 
Race 9: GLENFIDDICH FIRST WEANLINGS CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1200 M
 
AMMAND – Rounding the home turn, bumped on the hind quarters on two occasions and became unbalanced when MARLEEDOONE became awkwardly placed on the heels of BLACK COUNTRY and shifted out. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SONNY DAZE – When questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer S. Morrisey stated the horse had not raced on the polytrack before and had recently won a trial on this track impressively and for that reason he expected a forward showing.
 
FOREBEARS – Raced wide.
 
MARLEEDOONE – Rounding the home turn, improved onto the heels of the tiring BLACK COUNTRY before shifting wider.
 
BLACK COUNTRY – Trainer J. Judge was reprimanded pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to notify a rider within the prescribed time. Raced wide throughout. Laid in when commencing to weaken approaching the home turn and appeared to be contacted at that point when MARLEEDOONE improved onto its heels. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
ART HEIST – Slow to begin.

DIAMOND FLYER – Steadied from heels approaching the winning post.
 
YOUNG PIP – Began very awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide. Cast its off-hind plate in running.
