SUPPLEMENTARY:

As K. Wharton was indisposed due to illness stewards permitted rider changes as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

Race 1: GCTC Tradies Day Saturday June 27 QTIS 2YO Maiden Plate – 1200m
1st – Sagaronne 2nd – Falloch 3rd – Havasay 4th – Doctor’s Mistress

ROMANOV – Began awkwardly.

HOTBOT – Began awkwardly and bumped another runner.

ALL GET CLANGED – Bumped on jumping away. Laid in under pressure passing the 200m.

LEDOYEN – Hampered on jumping away and lost ground.

FALLOCH – Laid out in the early stages and as a result raced wide until a point near the 700m. Raced greenly throughout the event.

SAGARONNE – As jockey J. Morris was late on course due to transportation difficulties stewards permitted C. Whiteley to be substituted as the rider. Steadied near the 500m when placed in restricted room for a short distance.

HAVASAY – Held up for a short distance rounding the home turn. Hampered near the 300m and then bumped another runner when improving into a narrow run near the 150m. Jockey A. Allen reported that from the wide barrier he was obliged to restrain the gelding to take up a position closer to the rail at the rear of the field.

KYOTO ROSE – Bumped near the 150m and became unbalanced.

SWANS LAGOON – Raced wide for the majority of the event.

REAL DUCHESS – Raced wide for the majority of the event.


Race 2: Tattersall’s Club Tiara Race Day June 20 QTIS 2YO Maiden Plate – 1200m
1st – Princess Charm 2nd – Star Of Night 3rd – Emphasis 4th – Nee De Papa

EMPHASIS – Inconvenienced at the start and then shifted out abruptly when taken outwards by STAR OF NIGHT, which was taken out by PREMIERE PLACE. Jockey R. Goltz reported the gelding was inclined to lay out over the concluding stages of the event.

STAR OF NIGHT – Hampered on jumping away. Steadied from heels near the 900m.

RED CHANDELIER – Hampered when tightened for room shortly after the start. Raced greenly throughout and hung out rounding the home turn. Inconvenienced near the 100m by SUGAR HIT, which shifted out. Jockey A. Allen (SUGAR HIT) was advised to exercise more care in future.

PREMIERE PLACE - Began awkwardly and raced wide for the majority of the event. Jockey L. Rolls reported that the gelding hung out for the majority of the race and proved difficult to ride. Trainer B. Guy was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.

MEMPHIS GIRL – Raced wide in the early stages of the event.

SUGAR HIT – Obliged to shift out near the 100m to obtain clear running.

PRINCESS CHARM – When questioned as to the improved performance stable representative S. Watkins noted the filly was having its second race start today. Ms Watkins advised that at its first start at Doomben the filly, after being slow to begin, suffered interference during the early stages which contributed to its disappointing performance on that occasion. Ms Watkins added that the filly began well today and was able to travel comfortably in a midfield position, which with the addition of blinkers contributed to the improved performance.

DANCETIME – App L. Dittman reported that the saddle shifted back placing him at a disadvantage for the majority of the event.


Race 3: Cordner Taylor Accountants Maiden Plate – 1200m
1st –More Energy 2nd – I Doubt I Can 3rd – Runaway Ruler 4th – Court’s Star

COURT’S STAR – Slow to begin.

STORMY LEO – Slow to begin.

HONEY AND ROSES – Checked shortly after the start when tightened for room between I DOUBT I CAN and MARLENE ADELE, which shifted out.

MARLENE ADELE – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Steadied near the 100m when awkwardly placed at heels.

TEEKAYO – Near the 800m improved onto the heels of RUNAWAY RULER and shifted out. Near the 300m steadied from the heels of another runner.

SUPERFAST SAKI – Near the 800m improved onto the heels of TEEKAYO and shifted out abruptly and was obliged to race 3 wide from that point onwards.

MORE ENERGY – Held up rounding the home turn.

BRILLIANT SUNSET – Held up rounding the home turn. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare had sustained a laceration to the near hind cannon, consistent with being galloped on.

MIRANDA JANE – Raced wide for the majority of the event.

RUNAWAY RULER – App A. Hearn reported that the gelding raced greenly throughout the event.

SAKITTO – When questioned as to the performance jockey C. Whiteley stated his intention was to settle in the second half of the field behind SUPERFAST SAKI however, COURT’S STAR improved to his inside in the early stages which forced him to settle further back in the field than anticipated. Jockey Whiteley added that he was able to shift wider in an effort to improve passing the 600m however, the filly was only travelling fairly and failed to finish the race off as expected. Jockey Whitely expressed his disappointment in the performance. Stable representative T. MacIntosh confirmed the stable’s disappointment but was unable to offer any explanation for the poor performance. A post race veterinary examination of the filly revealed no abnormalities. A swab sample was taken.


Race 4: GCOMM Class 1 H’Cap – 2200m
D/Heat 1st – Kobi Creek & Valtari 3rd – Credit Only 4th – Panya

BOUND TO GO – Slow to begin.

RING TRUE – Steadied shortly after the start when tightened for room.

SEVVA NIGHTS – Began awkwardly.

LIDO – Overraced in the early stages and near the 1800m improved onto the heels of KOBI CREEK, shifted wider and was allowed to stride forward to take up a leading position near the 1500m.

CREDIT ONLY – Taken wider by LIDO near the 1800m and was obliged to race 3 wide until the 1000m where it was ridden forward to the lead and once in the lead was inclined to overrace.

KOBI CREEK – Raced wide in the early stages of the event.

LOXLEY - Following the poor performance trainer N. Hilton advised that the gelding would now be retired. Nonetheless Mr Hilton was advised that should the gelding race again it would be required to compete in non-TAB meetings before establishing improved form.


Race 5: Stonehouse Wealth Management Class 1 H’Cap – 1200m
1st – Spanish Saga 2nd – Land Office 3rd – Chilly Prediction 4th – Stellenbosch Love

The start was delayed when DANCING WARRIOR proved difficult to load. Trainer D. Bougoure will be advised that the gelding must obtain a further barrier certificate before being permitted to race again.

PURE GREED – Stood flatfooted and lost substantial ground. Stable representative G. O’Sullivan was advised that the gelding must compete in an official trial to the satisfaction of stewards before being permitted to race again.

MOONLIGHT DANCER – Shortly after the start clipped the heels of CHILLY PREDICTION and blundered.

STELLENBOSCH LOVE – Overraced in the early stages of the event.

LAND OFFICE – Shifted out under pressure over the final 200m and was bumped by another runner on a number of occasions.

SPANISH SAGA – Bumped on a number of occasions over the concluding stages.

CARTON – Held up rounding the home turn. Bumped upon straightening and was then obliged to shift out approaching the 200m to obtain clear running.

CHILLY PREDICTION – Bumped on straightening.

MISSAMORK – Raced wide throughout the event.

DANCING WARRIOR – Raced wide throughout the event.


Race 6: Ramsden Lawyers Stakes Class 1 H’Cap – 1200m
1st – Jetasan 2nd – Lady Denman 3rd – Gohardasun 4th – Bukekayo

SUM IT UP – Slow to begin and a short distance later had to be steadied when tightened for room.

NAZAR ROYALE –Had to be steadied when tightened for room shortly after the start between SAVVY GIRL and JETASAN, which shifted in. J. Morris (JETASAN) was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

SAVVY GIRL – Steadied a short distance after the start when tightened for room between TOP ROYAL and JETASAN, both of which shifted ground. Raced wide throughout event.

BEST OF TIMES – Raced wide throughout event.

LUNAR VOYAGE - Raced wide throughout event.

TOP ROYAL – When questioned as to the performance jockey B. Pengelly stated he was instructed to obtain a position in the second half of the field with cover. Jockey Pengelly added that he was able to comply with these instructions however, the gelding raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Jockey Pengelly further added that rounding the home turn he attempted to save ground to the inside but the gelding failed to finish the race off as expected and was disappointing. Jockey Pengelly was of the view that the gelding may be better suited when allowed to stride forward. Trainer T. Edmonds confirmed the instructions and agreed with the comments of jockey Pengelly. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. A swab sample was taken.


Race 7: Wash It Australia Mobile Truck Washing Open H’Cap – 1200m
1st – Florida Fellow 2nd – Hludowig 3rd – Nickiera 4th – Hydrazine

POMPIDOU – Began awkwardly.

BOREHOLE – Slow to begin.

BELEGIC – Began awkwardly and shifted in bumping VINTAGE MOSS. When questioned as to the performance jockey L. Rolls stated that the gelding was inclined to lay in for the majority and weakened noticeably over the concluding stages. Trainer K. Loy was of the view that the gelding had come to the end of its current preparation and would now be sent for a spell.

VINTAGE MOSS – Bumped on jumping away. When questioned as to the tactics adopted in the early stages jockey J. Morris stated that he was instructed to obtain a handy position but not to ride the gelding vigorously in the early stages as it had shown a tendency to overrace. Jockey Morris stated that for this reason he was unable to maintain a trailing position behind BELEGIC and then near the 900m had to be steadied from the heels of HYDRAZIN, which shifted in. Trainer J. Fitzgerald confirmed the instructions and expressed his disappointment in the overall performance. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had sustained a laceration to the off hind coronet. A swab sample was taken.


Race 8: Cordner Taylor Superannuation Winter Provincial Stayers BM75 H’Cap – 1800m
1st – I’m Hector 2nd – Wearing Wings 3rd – Markout 4th – Forelock

MARKOUT – As App J. Hull was indisposed due to illness stewards permitted App S. Eilbeck to be substituted as the rider.

SCOTTY BE GOTTI – Began awkwardly.

METEOROLOGIST – Steadied a short distance after the start when tightened for room.

RETUNE - Steadied a short distance after the start when tightened for room.

WEARING WINGS – Raced wide in the early stages of the event. Shifted out under pressure in the early stages of the home straight and bumped I’M HECTOR near the 200m and again near the 100m.

MARKOUT – Raced wide throughout the event.

GOTTA ZIP – App B. Grylls reported that she was disappointed in the overall performance of the gelding and was of the opinion that it may have come to the end of its current preparation. App Grylls was reprimanded for failing to ride her mount out to the end of the race. A swab sample was taken.


Race 9: Footprint Business Solutions Class 3 H’Cap - 1400m
1st – Royal Scribe 2nd – El Sagrado 3rd – Chilwero 4th – Barcelona Bound

There was a delay to the announcement of correct weight whilst stewards inquired into the reasons why jockey B. El-Issa (ROYAL SCRIBE) weighed in at 59.0 kilos after weighing out at 59.5 kilos, which was his declared weight plus the 1 kilo allowance for a safety vest. Under AR143(a) a rider is permitted a tolerance of a ½ kilo when weighing back in. As jockey El-Issa’s weight differential was not in excess of this ½ kilo correct weight was declared on the numbers as semaphored. Jockey El-Issa was subsequently fined $500.00 under AR143(b).

BARCELONA BOUND – Slow to begin and inconvenienced shortly thereafter by ROFRANOZ, which shifted out.

HEART STEALER – Approaching the 800m improved onto the heels of another runner, shifted out and raced wide from that point onwards.

CHILWERO – Raced wide for the majority of the event.

TRUE PRINCE - Raced wide for the majority of the event.

EL SAGRADO – Stewards questioned jockey L. Rolls as to the tactics adopted specifically why he allowed ROYAL SCRIBE to cross forward to the lead in the early stages. Jockey Rolls stated that his instructions were to settle just off the speed and after beginning well he was able to obtain that position and elected to allow ROYAL SCRIBE to cross forward of him approaching the 1100m to take up a trailing position with cover. Shortly thereafter REAL GENE, which was racing wide in the early stages, pushed forward to the lead near the 1000m resulting in EL SAGRADO settling one position further back than originally anticipated. Jockey Rolls noted that the mare was stepping up in class today.

REAL GENE – When questioned regarding the disappointing performance jockey R. Fradd stated with the addition of blinkers today the filly when leading during the middle stages overraced, which resulted in it weakening over the concluding stages. Jockey Fradd was of the view that the filly would be better suited over a similar distance without blinkers. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.


Race 10: Cordner Taylor Accountants QTIS 3YO H’Cap – 1400m
1st – Gunsmoke 2nd – Falzini 3rd – Great Patience 4th – Persist

SEASHELLS – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout the event. A swab sample was taken.

GUNSMOKE – Slow to begin.

SECRET TRYST – Slow to begin.

OUR ROCK O’REILLLY – Bumped on jumping away. Steadied near the 500m when placed in restricted room to the inside of PERSIST.

FAICONI – Bumped on jumping away.


Race 11: Battle Of The Coral Sea Class 6 Plate – 1400m
1st – Kalandula 2nd – Speedy Sam 3rd – Talon Lady 4th – Voodoo Blue Magic

NO WIN NO WINE – Examined by the veterinary surgeon after arriving on course after being fractious in the float en route to the track and was cleared to start.

The start of the race was delayed to hold for an interstate event.

After being kicked by the clerk of the course pony during the preliminary KID TYCOON underwent a veterinary examination and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 4.31 p.m. All monies invested on KID TYCOON were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on the winner and place-getters prior to 4.31 p.m.:

NO WIN NO WINE – Blundered on jumping away almost dislodging jockey R. Fradd and lost ground. Held up from the 200m to the 100m when disappointed for a run to the inside of CHEAPSKATER.

SPEEDY SAM – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground.

VOODOO BLUE MAGIC – Slow to begin. Rider B. Pengelly was fined $200.00 for failing to ride his mount out to the end of the race.
