GENERAL

Acting on a report from members of the Integrity Regulatory Unit (IRU) following an inspection of trainer A. Willick’s stables where DIADEME (trained by B. Baker) was located for today’s event, stewards opened an inquiry into the possible race day treatment of that mare. After taking evidence from trainers B. Baker and A. Willick, stablehand G. Lobb, Dr M. Lenz and the IRU members Mr N. Torpey and Mr J. Hackett, stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that DIADEME had not received treatment today. Stewards therefore declared DIADEME a late scratching at 3.05 p.m. acting under the provisions of AR8(m). The inquiry was adjourned to a time and date to be fixed so as to allow for the products found during the stable inspection to be analysed. DIADEME also had blood and urine samples taken.
