GENERAL
 
As R. McMahon was indisposed due to illness stewards permitted rider changes as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
 
RACE 1: Caravan & Camping Expo Maiden H’Cap – 1200m
 
DREAMSCOPE – As this was the gelding’s first start in over 12 months it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.  Jockey M. McGuren reported his whip became entangled in his reins over the final 200m and as such he was unable to apply the whip behind the saddle over the concluding stages.
 
DRAGONS ESPRIT – Fractious in the barriers.
 
REDEMUS – Began awkwardly.
 
HAVEN WHISPER – After being slow to begin failed to take any competitive part in the event.  A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer N. Hocking was advised that the mare must trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to racing again. 
 
RACE 2: South East Queensland Rugby League QTIS 3YO Maiden Plate – 1200m
 
As C. Schmidt was overweight stewards permitted B. Grylls to be substituted as the rider of ALASTRIONA.  Jockey Schmidt was subsequently fined $100.  
HEART OF AUSTRALIA – Slow to begin.  Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
 
BAGGINS – Slow to begin.
 
MAHRATTA – Began awkwardly.  Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
MISHANI PILGRIM – Began awkwardly.
 
HAYLEE PRINCE – Leaving the 200m had to be steadied when placed in restricted room between MAHRATTA and NUNCIUS, both of which shifted ground.
 
SEE MIRACLES – When questioned as to the performance jockey J. Mallyon stated that the filly was under pressure leaving the 500m and in his opinion may have failed to back up from its first up start on a heavy track.  Trainer C. Anderson agreed with the comments and indicated that he may experiment with the addition of blinkers prior to the filly’s next start.
 
 
RACE 3: AQUIS Titans Community Raceday QTIS 2YO Maiden H’Cap – 1100m
 
The start was delayed when FIRST WITNESS and FRANCISCA both proved difficult to load.
 
TRAVERS – Began awkwardly and lost ground.  Overraced in the middle stages.  Forced wider on the track rounding the home turn and was hampered upon straightening and again leaving the 300m by SO INVINCIBLE, which shifted out under pressure.
 
FIRST WITNESS – Bumped at the start.  Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
CHATTEL MORTGAGE – Slow to begin.  Near the 1000m had to be steadied from heels.
 
MYSTIC EYES – Overraced leaving the 1000m.
 
SO INVINCIBLE – Hung out rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
 
BATTEN – Inconvenienced by another runner passing the 250m. Raced wide throughout.  When questioned regarding the disappointing performance App R. Goldsbury was unable to offer any tangible explanation. Trainer B. Currie expressed his disappointment in the filly’s performance after it performed well in an unofficial trial leading into today’s event.  Mr Currie was unable to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance and undertook to advise stewards should any abnormalities come to light in the days subsequent to the event. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
SETOKA – Leaving the 200m was obliged to steady away from the heels of THAT’S MADNESS.
 
THAT’S MADNESS – Raced wide throughout.
 
TOO EASY BRO – Cast an off fore plate in running.
 
 
RACE 4: Touch Football Queensland QTIS 2YO Maiden H’Cap – 1100m
 
The start was delayed when SHE’S UP BEAT and RIVER OF LOVE both proved difficult to load.
 
TROMMELSCHLAGEN – Began awkwardly and a short distance later was hampered when tightened for room between runners and lost ground.
 
STAR STRYKER – Began awkwardly and shifted out.  Raced greenly in the home straight.
 
JINX ‘N’ DRINX – Bumped at the start.
 
CRAFTY BLONDE – Bumped by another runner shortly after the start and then raced very ungenerously in the early and middle stages.
 
UNIQUE MAGIC – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
RIVER OF LOVE – Raced ungenerously throughout and finished the event tailed off.  A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer J. Petersen was advised that the filly must trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to racing again. 
 
SHE’S UP BEAT – Jockey A. Spinks reported that the filly did not appreciate today’s soft conditions.
 
 
RACE 5: Dial Before You Dig Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 3 H’Cap – 1200m
 
OLD TEX – Underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers at the request of its rider and was subsequently cleared to start.  A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near fore leg.  Trainer H. Page was advised that a veterinary clearance will be required prior to the gelding racing again.
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight App B. Ainsworth the rider of fourth placegetter REAL CLASSIC exercised her rights to view the patrol footage to ascertain if she had grounds to lodge an objection against the third placegetter GATLINBURG (B. Grylls).  After viewing the footage App Ainsworth elected not to proceed with the objection and correct weight was declared on the numbers semaphored.
 
REAL CLASSIC – Slow to begin and shortly thereafter was hampered when tightened for room and lost ground.  Obliged to race in restricted room over the concluding stages between DISTROYIA and GATLINBURG, which shifted out under pressure.
 
GATLINBURG – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
THE LYNCHES – Bumped at the start.
 
THE MONK – Bumped at the start.
 
TURKANA – Bumped shortly after the start and became unbalanced.  When questioned as to the performance jockey M. McGuren stated that after being bumped at the start and with the strong early tempo he was content to settle in a midfield position with cover.  Jockey McGuren added that passing the 500m he attempted to improve between THE MONK and THE LYNCHES but had to steady when placed in restricted room.  Following this the gelding failed to respond as expected and in his opinion proved disappointing.  Trainer K. Jones stated his pre-race intention was that the gelding would settle closer to the speed however, was still disappointed in its failure to finish the race off as expected.  Mr Jones indicated that he may look to step the gelding up in distance at its next start.
 

RACE 6: QT Gold Coast Fillies & Mares Class 3 H’Cap – 1200m
 
INTERLUDE – Slow to begin.  Raced wide throughout.
 
CATENACCIO – Slow to begin.
 
OUR JAMAICA – Hampered shortly after the start.
 
NAVY GAL – Shifted out under pressure in the straight.
 
BELLA SASH – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
REWARD FOR RICHES – Raced wide throughout.
 
RAINBOW LACE – App G. Mitchell reported that the mare raced ungenerously in the early stages before hanging out from the 800m onwards and as a consequence raced wide throughout.  A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a cut to the off side of its mouth.
 
SOCIAL – When questioned as to the performance jockey B. Grylls stated her instructions were to obtain a position on speed. After beginning only fairly she was obliged to ride the mare vigorously in the early stages to settle outside the leader.Jockey Grylls added that when placed under pressure leaving the 500m the mare failed to quicken as expected however, still managed to finish the race off reasonably well, bearing in mind that itwas up in weight and class today.
 
 
RACE 7: Events Cinemas BenchMark 58 H’Cap – 1800m
 
After completing his riding engagement in Race 5 jockey L. Rolls advised stewards that as he was ill he would not be able to fulfil his engagement on DANISH HOMBRE.  Jockey Rolls was subsequently replaced by R. Cuneen.
 
SLALOM – Slow to begin.
 
BRIGADIER – Had difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
REGAL LAD – Held up and disappointed for a run upon straightening.
 
GENERAL ASSAULT – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
DANISH HOMBRE – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
CROSSING THE TEE – A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
 
RACE 8: TFH BenchMark 75 H’Cap – 1400m
 
ROCK ON IVY – Began awkwardly.
 
FASTA THAN LIGHT – Began awkwardly.  Jockey N. Tomizawa reported that the gelding failed to travel comfortably in today’s conditions.
 
MARKSFIELD – Hampered shortly after the start when tightened for room.  Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
GUNDY STAR – Hampered shortly after the start when tightened for room.
 

RACE 9: AQUIS Class 1 H’Cap – 1400m
 
MANABAR – Slow to begin.
 
DOUMBEK – Overraced in the early stages.
 
LOVE BATTLES – Near the 900m had to be steadied when placed in restricted room between DOUMBEK and ANZIO.  Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
VENETIAN BEAUTY – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.  Raced wide throughout.
