RACE 1: Jockey Celebration Day Maiden Plate 900mm
1st: High Blazee 2nd: Betajett 3rd: Schmidty 4th:: Torre Saracino
TANNIC was presented to race without winkers despite that gear being advertised.. Trainer K Munce gave an undertaking that the gelding had raced without winkers at its previous start at Gympie and no gear change had been made prior to today.. Stewards subsequently allowed the gelding to race without winkers and will undertake further inquiries at a later date.
The start was delayed when the bridle on MIKTEGIC had to be adjusted behind the barriers.
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards inquired into the circumstances regarding a piece of packing that was exchanged between Jockey J Morris (BETAJET) and Jockey R McMahon (HIGH BLAZE) near the placegetterss stall after both riders had dismounted.. Both riders advised that the packing was carried by HIGH BLAZE, however, fell to the ground when being unsaddled and was handed to Jockey Morris by the strapper of HIGH BLAZE.. Stewards were able to view the patrol footage which confirmed this evidence and subsequently were satisfied that HIGH BLAZE carried its allotted weight and therefore declared correct weight on the numbers semaphored.. Stewards advised Jockey Morris that he should refrain from coming into contact with another riderrs gear prior to the declaration of correct weight.
KISS MY CHOISIR - Fractious in the barriers.. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
LUCKY JAI JAI - Reared as the start was effected and lost ground.
BETAJET - Slow to begin.. Near the 800m hampered by SECRET ASSIGNMENT which shifted in.
DRAGONS ESPRIT Held up leaving the 500m.. Held up when forced to race in restricted room between the 300m and 150m before shifting back to the inside of SECRET ASSIGNMENT to secure clear running.
TORRE SARACINO - When questioned as to his riding approaching and rounding the home turn, Jockey C Whiteley stated that he was instructed not to ride the gelding vigorously in the early stages as it had previously shown a tendency to race fiercely when ridden in that manner.. Subsequently, the gelding settled at the rear of the field and passing the 600m had to be steadied when tightened for room by POWER OF DIVAS which shifted in.. Jockey Whiteley added that rounding the home turn he was unsure if runs were going to open for him to the inside so he elected to shift out upon straightening to secure clear running.. Jockey Whiteley added that the gelding was inclined to hang in rounding the home turn and continued to do so when under pressure in the home straight but nonetheless finished the race off well.. Trainer B Hill confirmed the instructions. Stewards noted the explanation.
POWER OF DIVAS - Disappointed for a run passing the 200m and then held up to a point approaching the 50m.
SECRET ASSIGNMENT Cast its off hind plate in running.
SCHMIDTY Jockey J Mallyon was reprimanded for not riding his mount right out to the end of the race.
RACE 2: Kiss and Make Up Class 2 HHcap 1400m

Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Jockey J Morris (FLINDERS DRAGON) exercised his right to view the patrol footage to ascertain whether he had grounds to lodge an objection against the 2nd placegetter (NOTHINGFORTHEPRESS).. After viewing the patrol footage Jockey Morris elected not to proceed and accordingly correct weight was declared on the numbers semaphored..
ANZIO - Over-raced during the middle stages.
NOTHINGFORTHEPRESS - Over-raced during the middle stages.
CONSTANT RETURN - Raced wide for the majority of event.
FLINDERS DRAGON Taken wider on the track by NOTHINGFORTHEPRESS passing the 800m after which the gelding had a tendency to hang out.
KICKSTART MY HEART - Had difficulty securing clear running between the 200m and 100m. Stewards questioned app. Bayliss regarding the tactics adopted in the early stages in allowing DEVILLS FIRE to cross forward to the lead.. App. Bayliss stated that he was instructed to obtain a forward position but if the tempo in the early stages was strong then to obtain cover behind the leaders.. App. Bayliss added that when DEVILLS FIRE pressed forward passing the 1200m he was concerned that if he maintained a position to the inside of that runner it would have resulted in a strong tempo.. Therefore, he elected to restrain and obtain cover behind DEVILLS FIRE which slowed the tempo considerably once obtaining the lead.. Stewards advised App. Bayliss that he ought to have made a greater effort to maintain the lead during the early stages of the event.
RACE 3: Divine Prophet Class 3 HHcap 1800m
1st: Robbers Cobberr 2nd: Infinite Reignn 3rd: Legal Staturee 4th:: Cantillate
CANTILLATE - Slow to begin.. Held up for the majority of the home straight and went to the line without being fully tested.
HUNTER ISLAND - Slow to begin.
INFINITE REIGN Over-raced during the middle stages.. Raced wide throughout.. Near the 200m shifted in and bumped ROBBERS COBBER.
LIGHTHOUSE KEEPER Raced wide during the early and middle stages before being allowed to stride forward to settle outside the lead near the 1000m.. Rounding the home turn steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of ROBBERS COBBER.
ROBBERS COBBER Bumped near the 200m.
RACE 4: Furnaces BenchMark 75 HHcap 1200m
1st: Magnajoyy 2nd: Brigadoon Legendd 3rd: More Than Moneyy 4th:: Star Stiletto
SECRET BLEND - Near the 1100m commenced to over-race and continued to do so until passing the 600m.
START DREAMIN - Over-raced during the middle stages.
MORE THAN MONEY - Raced wide without cover throughout.. Over-raced during the middle stages.
LUCKY LUCRE - Held up passing the 100m.
Jockey N Day (START DREAMIN) was fined the sum of $100 for returning to scale in excess of the permitted kg.
RACE 5: Spill the Beans QTIS 3yo Maiden Plate 1300m

CELEBRITY KINGDOM was declared a late scratching by order of stewards at 2:39pm after the gelding was reluctant to proceed to the barriers.. An official barrier trial will be required prior to the geldinggs next start.. All monies invested on CELEBRITY KINGDOM were ordered to be refunded.. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and place-getters prior to 2:39pm:-

CRAFTY BLONDE - Began awkwardly and had to be checked from the heels of CITRAIN.
HEART OF TOORAK - Difficult to load.. Slow to begin.
CHARMING PRINCE - Near the 1000m steadied and made heavy contact with the running rail.. Tightened for room by GO DAISY which was taken in by RANGERZANE.. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
GO DAISY - Near the 1000m and again near the 900m, steadied when tightened for room between CHARMING PRINCE and RANGERZANE which shifted in.
KASTANOS - Approaching the 400m had to be steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of GO DAISY.
GWAPO - Laid out rounding the home turn.
CITRAIN - Raced greenly in the home straight.
OUR DESERT ROSE A post-race veterinary examination of the filly which finished the race tailed off, failed to reveal any abnormalities.. An official barrier trial will be required prior to the fillyys next start.
Jockey C Small (RANGERZANE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) for failing to make sufficient effort to prevent RANGERZANE shifting in passing the 1000m when not clear of GO DAISY which had to be steadied and shifted in tightening the running of CHARMING PRINCE which had to be steadied and made heavy contact with the running rail.. Jockey Smallls licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 12/08/17 and to expire midnight 20/08/17.
After the running of Race 5 the track was upgraded to a Good 3.
RACE 6: Holy Roman Emperor BenchMark 75 HHcap 900m
1st: Lifees Like Thatt 2nd: SEQ The Starr 3rd: True Passionn 4th:: Magic Street
BRAT ATTACK - Began awkwardly.. Near the 800m steadied from the heels of SEQ THE STAR which was inclined to lay in and away from runners to its outside.. Over-raced during the middle stages and leaving the 600m had to be checked from the heels of CHARLEE BEAR.. Held up over the final 200m.
ADERITO - Began awkwardly and shortly afterwards hampered when tightened for room by TRUE PASSION and BRAT ATTACK which shifted out.. Raced wide throughout.
TRUE PASSION - Shortly after the start had to be steadied when tightened for room between BRAT ATTACK and SEQ THE STAR both of which shifted ground.. Raced wide throughout.. Near the 600m steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of CHARLEE BEAR.. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
LIFEES LIKE THAT - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
MAGIC LOVE - Raced 4 wide without cover throughout. When questioned as to the performance, Jockey N Day stated that from the wide barrier he was obliged to race extremely wide throughout.. Jockey Day noted that the mare was first up from a spell today and in his opinion would derive a fitness benefit from todayys performance.
CAPTAIN TANGO - Leaving the 600m steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of SEQ THE STAR.
SEQ THE STAR - Passing the 600m obliged to race in restricted room to the inside of MEDIA MAID after which the mare commenced to hang out resulting in it having to be checked from the heels of MEDIA MAID a short distance later.. At a subsequent inquiry it was established that SEQ THE STAR was initially tightened for room by MEDIA MAID which was taken in by CHARLEE BEAR.. A short distance later MEDIA MAID was taken in by MAGIC STREET which had crossed forward to the lead which contributed to the inference suffered by SEQ THE STAR.. Both jockeys, K Matheson (CHARLEE BEAR) and J Morris (MAGIC STREET) were advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Held up upon straightening.
RACE 7: Domesday C,G&E Class 1 HHcap

1st: Malkaraa 2nd: Cascata Rossaa 3rd: Mystykoo 4th:: Jaydee Indy
Trainer M Reynolds was fined the sum of $100 for the late declaration of Jockey V Johnston as the rider of MY CRIMSON LAD.
MYSTYKO - Began awkwardly and had to be steadied from the heels of CASCATA ROSS.
CHICAGO NIGHTS - Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped OUR ROCKY.. Over-raced for the majority of event.. Near the 800m had to be steadied from the heels of JAKUTA.
OUR ROCKY - Bumped by CHICAGO NIGHTS at the start, clipped the heels of MALKARA and blundered.. Near the 800m steadied from the heels of CHICAGO NIGHTS, shifted out and raced 3 wide from that point onwards.. Jockey S Doyle dropped his whip near the 200m.
JAKUTA - Over-raced passing the 800m when being restrained to obtain cover behind MAGIC PANTHER.. Approaching the 400m steadied from heels.
CASCATA ROSSA - Approaching the 600m had to be steadied from the heels of MALKARA, shifted out and raced wide from that point onwards.
MAGIC PANTHER - Passing the 600m hampered by DALLINGER which shifted out to improve.. During the early stages of the home straight had difficulty securing clear running to the outside of DALLINGER which was inclined to lay out.. When questioned as to the performance, Jockey L Rolls stated that he was not entirely disappointed with the geldinggs performance.. Jockey Rolls was of the view that the gelding would be better suited over further distances and was not suited by todayys pattern of racing.
RACE 8: Husson F&M Class 1 HHcap 1200m
1st: Heart of Australiaa 2nd: Jinx NN Drinxx 3rd: Roses of Joyy 4th:: Schmel
AMARYLISS - Began awkwardly and lost ground.
GRUINARD BAY - Slow to begin.
MACCS GAL - Began awkwardly.. When questioned as to the performance, Jockey Stanley stated that from the wide barrier he was obliged to pressure the mare in the early stages to obtain the lead which in his opinion had a detrimental effect on its ability to finish the race off as expected.
FIGHTING BELLE - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
HEART OF AUSTRALIA - Raced wide throughout.
ALASTRIONA - Near the 700m steadied from heels.. Held up rounding the home turn and again from the 250m to the 100m.. Steadied over the concluding stages when placed in restricted room.. Cast its near hind plate in running.
THAT SCHIMDT GIRL - Near the 700m checked from heels.
NOTHING TO DANCE - Held up rounding the home turn and disappointed for a run to the outside of FIGHTING BELLE.. Obliged to shift back in to obtain clear running after which it laid in under pressure.. Bumped over the concluding stages.
PRINCESS SNOWY - Bumped over the concluding stages..
