SUPPLEMENTARY
 
From Gold Coast Meeting 2 June 2018 – Race 2
 
Trainer T. Sears advised stewards that an endoscopic examination of ARDOYNE ROAD revealed the horse to be a grade three roarer. Furthermore an auscultation of its heart detected a systolic murmur. Mr Sears indicated that the horse will be sent to Gatton University for further examination. Stewards advised Mr Sears that prior to racing again ARDOYNE ROAD must trial to the satisfaction of stewards following which a further endoscopic examination to be performed. Mr Sears also indicated that a tongue tie would be added to the horses racing gear.
 
GENERAL
 
As jockey R. Plumb was indisposed due to illness stewards permitted rider changes as per the Race Day Summary.
 
Stewards acceded to a request at 1.55 p.m. by trainer B. Witt to scratch BALIUS (Race 8) and ART NOUVEAU (Race 9) due to the firm track following the upgrade after Race 2.
 
RACE 1: Skyline Restaurant Class 6 Plate – 2200m
 
GLEN ORD – Slow to begin.
 
MISS DUBOIS – Overraced during the early stages.
 
GREAT GLEN – Overraced during the middle stages.
RACE 2: Gallery Seasonal Buffet Colts, Geldings & Entires Maiden Plate – 1200m

BOUND TO ME – Bumped at the start and shortly thereafter was hampered when tightened for room.
 
RULER - Bumped at the start and shortly thereafter was hampered when tightened for room. Overraced in the early and middle stages and then raced greenly in the home straight.
 
HIDDEN ACTION – Approaching the 800m after being crossed by WRAPPED commenced to overrace when being steadied from the heels of that runner and shifted out.
 
WEAPONISED – Approaching the 800m was taken wider and raced three wide without cover for the remainder.
 
LA PULGA – Near the 700m was steadied from heels and raced wide for the majority.
 
SATURN OPS – Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
WRAPPED – When questioned as to the tactics adopted jockey S. Doyle stated he had not received any firm instructions however, noted that the gelding had previously been slow to begin and forced to settle at the rear of the field. Jockey Doyle added that the gelding began well today and due to the slow tempo in the early stages he took the initiative to allow the gelding to stride forward and obtain the lead.
 
Trainer R. Drysdale was reprimanded for presenting HIDDEN ACTION to race with a tongue tie, which had not been advertised. Mr Drysdale advised stewards that the horse had worn a tongue tie at its recent starts.
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a Good 3.
 
 
RACE 3: Pink Ribbon Cup 22 September Fillies & Mares Maiden Plate – 1200m
 
After arriving on course 15 minutes after the required time MALAHIDE underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start. A pre-race blood sample was taken. Trainer M. Costa explained that the horse arrived late on course due to a miscommunication between staff members regarding race times. Nonetheless, Mr Costa was fined $200. Stewards further ordered that following the collection of a routine post race urine sample MALAHIDE remain on course for at least two (2) hours to enable a further blood sample to be taken.
 
DAFEENAH – Slow to begin.
 
DE BELLE OF CANNES – Began awkwardly and bumped another runner.
 
EVENING – Bumped at the start.
 
BOINGO – Bumped at the start.
 
OUR MOMENTO – Overraced in the early stages and approaching the 900m clipped the heels of DE BELLE OF CANNES and blundered. Hung out for the majority. Trainer B. Lockwood will be advised that a warning would be placed on the mares racing manners.
 
PRINCESS MONA – Raced greenly in the home straight.
 
GRAZIE MILLE BELLA – When questioned as to the performance jockey J. Lloyd expressed his disappointment and was unable to offer any tangible explanation except to say that the mare maybe better suited when ridden with cover. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality and a routine swab sample was taken.
 
Following his ride in this event jockey J. Lloyd reported that he was not feeling well and was subsequently stood down from his remaining engagements and substituted as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. Jockey Lloyd was advised that he must obtain a medical certificate before his next race ride.  
 
 
RACE 4: Pacifica Trading Fillies & Mares Class 3 Plate – 1400m
 
BOASTING – Slow to begin.
 
OREILLY CYRUS – Raced wide in the early stages before settling outside the leader near the 1100m.
 
HALFETI – Held up rounding the home turn. Near the 150m was obliged to alter course when OREILLY CYRUS shifted in marginally.
 
PRAGUEMATIST – Underwent a veterinary examination at the request of the stable representative following its disappointing performance, which revealed the mare to be making an abnormal upper respiratory noise. The stable was advised that a veterinary clearance together with the results of an endoscopic examination must be provided prior to the mare racing again.
 
RACE 5: Membership Renewals Now QTIS 2YO Maiden Handicap – 1200m
 
ORNATE – Began awkwardly. Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
ENTERPRISE JACK – Began awkwardly.
 
PUMPS – Began awkwardly. Overraced in the early and middle stages and was forced to race wide before being allowed to stride forward and settle outside the leader near the 600m.
 
MISHANI BRAVEHEART – Began awkwardly and a short distance later was steadied from heels and bumped another runner. Near the 1100m steadied when tightened for room. Raced greenly in the home straight.
 
SCILAGO – Slow to begin. Steadied from heels near the 800m.
 
WINNING WAYS – Slow to begin. Overraced early and near the 900m was steadied from the heels of LIGHT UP THE ROOM and again near the 800m had to be steadied from heels.
 
CHAMPAGNE DAISY – Near the 700m was eased when tightened for room and then raced wide without cover for the remainder of the event.
 
 
RACE 6: Book Now Spring Carnival QTIS 2YO Maiden Handicap – 1200m
 
DOSS – Slow to begin.
 
BELLE OF CADIZ – Slow to begin.
 
LADY RINGO – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages and approaching the 1000m was steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of BELLE OF CADIZ, which shifted in marginally.
 
SERLINA – Hampered shortly after the start.
 
MAGIC MYSTERY – Leaving the 1000m was steadied from heels. Near the 800m steadied when tightened for room by BOOM GIRL, which lost ground of its own accord.
 
DECODER – Approaching the 900m was steadied from heels. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
BOOM GIRL – Blundered of its own accord near the 800m and lost ground. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be suffering from thumps and no other significant findings.
 
JACK DERIPPA – Near the 800m steadied away from the heels of BOOM GIRL, when that runner lost ground and was forced to race wide without cover for the remainder of the event.
 
SEVENTY BELOW – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
RACE 7: UBET Auditorium Class 6 Plate – 1200m
 
TAIKO BOOM – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 900m when overracing was steadied when tightened by AMENZEL, which shifted in. Held up rounding the home turn and early stages of the home straight. Jockey J. Bayliss reported that his saddle slipped placing him at a disadvantage for the majority of the event.
 
MANAYA – Slow to begin. Near the 900m when overracing had to be steadied from the heels of TAIKO BOOM, which lost ground as a result of the tightening. Then overraced for a considerable distance in the middle stages.
 
LEGAL COUNSEL – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
THUNDER RAIDER – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
DAPPER ONE – Hung in under pressure in the home straight.

TOTALLY CHARMED – Slow to begin. Overraced in the middle stages. Held up rounding the home turn. Near the 200m disappointed when attempting a narrow run between ROUND MOUNTAIN GEM and TEN TAUBADAS, when both of those runners shifted ground marginally. As a consequence had to be checked and became unbalanced.
 
COULTHARD – Began awkwardly. Steadied from heels near the 800m.
 
MAKE HER OWN WHEY – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
NAKANAI – Raced wide throughout.
 
ROUND MOUNTAIN GEM – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
 
RACE 9: Spritzer Soiree 22 September Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 3 Plate – 1400m
 
REAL STING – Slow to begin.
 
SUPER SHOES – Began awkwardly and shortly thereafter was steadied when tightened for room. Near the 800m shifted out and bumped TIVOLI STREET. Upon straightening was disappointed for a run to the outside of REAL STING and was steadied and obliged to shift back to the inside of that runner to secure clear running.
 
CINNAMON MISSILE – Began awkwardly and a short distance later was bumped.
 
CADOGAN – Began awkwardly. Near the 1100m was steadied from heels. Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
NIGHT ATTIRE – Overraced in the early stages when being restrained to obtain cover. Upon straightening had to be steadied from the heels of CONSTANT FLIGHT.
 
TIVOLI STREET – Bumped near the 800m.
 
MIDWEEK HUSSLER – Hung out in the home straight.
 
BEAU ISA – Raced wide without cover throughout.
