Race 1 – MYGC QTIS 2YO Maiden Plate – 900m
 
BUSTED KUSTED – Began awkwardly. Raced greenly and laid out after passing the 600m and in the home straight when placed under pressure, laid in causing its rider to stop riding on a number of occasions.
 
EL FITTO – Slow to begin. Raced greenly and laid out after passing the 600m.
 
BATTLE THROUGH – After passing the 200m, laid out when placed under pressure.
 
 
Race 2 – 1029 Hot Tomato Maiden Plate – 900m
 
ZOFF THE BOSS – Slow to begin.
 
SORRELLA TRAMONTO – Began awkwardly.
 
GOT NO DOUBT – Shortly after the start, laid in and away from TATACHILLA and in doing so brushed the running rail with its hindquarters, became unbalanced and lost ground. When questioned regarding the performance of the filly, Jockey A. Fancourt explained that after beginning fairly and then becoming unbalanced after brushing the rail, failed to travel from that point on and in her opinion performed below expectations. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
TATACHILLA – Approaching the 100m commenced to lay out under pressure.
 
IMPROVING – Passing the 50m had to be steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of TATACHILLA which laid out. Jockey L. Rolls the rider of TATACHILLA was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances in future.
 
 
Race 3 – Gold Coast MG Rally Class 1 Plate – 1100m
 
PAY WITH CASH – Bounded in the air on jumping and lost considerable ground. Approaching the 250m when placed under pressure, hung in.
 
LAMPLIGHT LILI – Hampered on jumping when crowded for room by SANDY TOWN.
 
SANDY TOWN – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
DIVINE DECADENCE – Approaching the 800m, laid in crowding AIOLOS.
 
AIOLOS – Passing the 800m, crowded for room by DIVINE DECADENCE which laid in. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
HAUTCLERE – Passing the 150m, inconvenienced and taken in by PAY WITH CASH which hung in.
 
 
Race 4 – Good Morning Gold Coast C,G&E Benchmark 65 Handicap – 1400m
 
The start was significantly delayed when after all runners had been loaded into the barriers, SHARPAMAL reared over and became cast. The gelding was removed from the barriers, examined by the veterinary surgeon and declared a late scratching at 2.12pm. All monies invested on SHARPAMAL were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and place-getters prior to 2.12pm:-

A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained some lacerations to the off fore cannon and near hind pastern and a minor abrasion over its right eye with a small amount of blood in the right nostril. The gelding was subsequently treated and bandaged by the veterinary surgeon prior to leaving the course. Trainer H. Page was advised that the gelding would require a further barrier certificate and veterinary clearance before its next race start.
 
All other runners were removed from the barriers until SHARPAMAL was able to be removed for examination. CURRUMBIN CRAFT which was drawn adjacent to SHARPAMAL, was examined by the veterinary surgeon prior to being reloaded and cleared to start.
 
BACKLOG – Slow to begin.
 
SPEEDGUN – Approaching the 700m, improved onto the heels of COUNTER MEAL and had to be restrained.
 
COUNTER MEAL – Over the final 100m, laid in under pressure.
 
SIDERO STAR – Over the final 100m, inconvenienced when crowded for room between CURRUMBIN CRAFT to its inside and COUNTER MEAL to its outside which laid in.
 
After the running of this event, Jockey B. Pengelly was examined by the QAS officials and ruled unfit to fulfil his remaining riding engagement. Jockey Pengelly was advised that he must provide a medical clearance prior to race riding again.
 
After the running of this event, Jockey Anthony Allen advised Stewards of a sore finger on his left hand. Jockey Allen was examined by QAS officials and cleared to fulfil his upcoming rides.
 
Race 5 – Village Roadshow Theme Parks F&M BM 65 Handicap – 1400m
 
Stewards accepted the explanation tendered for the late declaration of App. J. Guthmann-Chester on ROCK DANCER.
 
ROCK DANCER - Slow to begin. Approaching the 400m laid out and became awkwardly placed at the heels of SHE SALUTES. Passing the 300m was slightly inconvenienced when improving into a run to the outside of ARABELLA EKCELS which was hanging out.
 
CHARWAY – After passing the 900m when in a trailing position, commenced to over-race and had to be shifted out and away from the heels of SIMPLY SACRED and raced 3 wide without cover from that point on.
 
ARABELLA EKCELS – After passing the 600m, commenced to lay out and shifted wider on the course and then continued to hang out in the home straight and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
BALERION – Forced wider rounding the home turn by ARABELLA EKCELS which hung out.
 
KENDALLS DREAM - Passing the winning post, Jockey J. Taylors saddle shifted and the mare shied dislodging him. Jockey Taylor was examined on the track by QAS officials and subsequently transported to Pindara Private Hospital for further examination and observation. Rider replacements were made pursuant to Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Jockey L. Tilley (ZILITOR) was reprimanded for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
 
Race 6 – Flan, Emily Jade, & Christo Maiden Plate – 1300m
 
SMART METEOR was examined by the veterinary surgeon after getting down in the float en-route to the track and was passed fit to start.
 
DYNAMIC THINKER – Proved difficult to load. Began awkwardly.
 
ALL BOOM – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
CAMOUFLAGE GIRL – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Forced wider rounding the home turn by SMART METEOR which was attempting to shift out to improve.
 
SMART METEOR – Approaching the 700m, improved onto the heels of FAST DEALER and had to be restrained. Upon straightening, became unbalanced after being heavily bumped on the hindquarters by ALL BOOM which was shifting out to improve. Jockey A. Chau rider of ALL BOOM was advised to exercise greater care before shifting ground in future.
 
 
Race 7 – Galey, Mal & Moyra Benchmark 65 Handicap – 1800m
 
As Jockey B. Pengelly was stood down by the QAS officials, Jockey S. Galloway replaced him on DANTE ROSSETTI.
 
CASURINA STAR – Blundered on jumping.
 
BERNIES TIGER – Began awkwardly. After passing the 700m, shifted three wide to improve.
 
CITY OF KIRKWALL – When racing in a rearward position on the rail, commenced to over-race and made contact with the rail passing the 1400m. After passing the 1200m, improved onto the heels of ASSERTIVE STAR and had to be restrained.
 
 
Race 8 – Event Cinemas Gold Class Class 4 Handicap – 1200m
 
As HEARTS LIFTED had not started in a race for over 12 months, the mare underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to take its place in the field.
 
CEOL NA MARA – Began awkwardly and made contact with the barrier partition.
