Race 1: Vale John Wilcock Maiden Handicap – 900m
 
Trainer J. Walk was fined $100 for the late declaration of T. Harrison as the rider of DAFEENAH.
 
THE GROUSE – Slow to begin. Shifted in and away from HEATON PARK when crowded for room near the 200m. Raced wide for the majority of the race. Rider App J. Huxtable advised Stewards the gelding had a tendency to lay in in the home straight when placed under pressure.
 
XUANNU – Slow to begin.
 
SERRATALLI – Slow to begin.
 
GLOBAL VENTURE – Began awkwardly. Shifted in under pressure near the 300m bumping PALATE. Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
GOOD TUKKA – Checked near the 600m when tightened for room.
 
SHE’S WINNIE BLUE – Steadied near the 600m when placed in restricted room.
 
DAWN EDITION – Shifted in tightening runners to its inside near the 600m when tightened for room by KINGSCOTE, which shifted in.
PALATE – Bumped by GLOBAL VENTURE, which shifted in near the 300m.
 
HEATON PARK – Laid in near the 200m crowding THE GROUSE. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
DAFEENAH – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Jockey A. Chau (KINGSCOTE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that he permitted his mount to shift in near the 600m when insufficiently clear of DAWN EDITION, which was forced inwards tightening the running of SHE’S WINNIE BLUE, which shifted in tightening the running of GOOD TUKKA, which was checked and lost its rightful running. Jockey Chau’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of ten (10) days to commence midnight 28 June 2020 and expire midnight 8 July 2020. Stewards assessed this incident to be in the mid-range however, in considering penalty took into account Jockey Chau’s good record in relation to this Rule and his guilty plea. Jockey Chau was advised of his review rights.
 
 
Race 2: Olmedo @ Aquis In 2020 Class 3 Handicap – 900m
 
YOUR OPTION – Made contact with the fence when entering the parade yard, was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Laid out rounding the home turn. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
JUST FAVULOUS – Slow to begin.
 
DECISIVE HEART – Slow to begin. Shifted out under pressure near the 200m hampering RED RAFFLE.
 
ISAREADY – Slow to begin.
 
COURSESHEWILL – Overraced for a short distance after the start when racing in restricted room.
 
PUMPS – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
RED RAFFLE – Steadied from the heels of DECISIVE HEART, which shifted out near the 200m. Lost its tongue-tie during running.
 
EXPLORATION – Raced four wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
TULLIO - Lost the near hind plate in running.
 
Race 3:  Dubious @ Aquis In 2020 QTIS 2YO Maiden Handicap – 1200m
 
ROSE OF ATHENS – Made contact with the running rail whilst parading behind the barriers, was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
NICKS – Slow to begin. Momentarily held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
JABBAR – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
BRANNIGAN – Began very awkwardly and shifted out hampering DARING MAN, which was slow to begin.
 
DARING MAN – After being slow to begin was then hampered by BRANNIGAN. Shifted in near the 200m bumping with MENINDEE. Lost its near fore plate in running.
 
MIMBI MAGIC – Overraced in the early stages.
 
MENINDEE – Shifted out under pressure near the 200m bumping with DARING MAN. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 4: Pierata @ Aquis in 2020 Class 1 Plate – 1800m
 
APITHANOS – Connections advised the intention would be to ride the horse in a midfield position if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
TORMINO – Slow to begin.
 
THRUM – Slow to begin. Overraced in the middle stages.
 
QUOTANT – Laid out rounding the home turn forcing FAST DEALER wider, which in turn shifted out placing PRINCESS SPARKLES in restricted room, which had to be steadied. Jockey M. Hellyer (QUOTANT) was reprimanded and advised to show greater care when shifting ground.
 
PRINCESS SPARKLES – Steadied near the 450m when placed in restricted room between FAST DEALER and APITHANOS.
 
THE CHOSEN ONE – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and entering the home straight. Then disappointed for a run approaching the 200m having to be steadied before obtaining clear running leaving the 100m.
 
FAST DEALER – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
Race 5: TAB Class 4 Handicap – 1300m
 
DYNAMCIC THINKER – Shifted out at the start forcing SAN PIERRE wider. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Forced wider near the 400m. When questioned regarding the performance Jockey M. Cahill stated he was of the opinion the gelding was not comfortable in its action and he was reluctant to place his mount under any pressure over the concluding stages.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer L. Kelly was advised the gelding must trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again. Mr Kelly gave a further undertaking to advise Stewards should anything come to his attention that may have had a bearing on today’s performance.
 
SAN PIERRE – Hampered when forced wider by DYNAMIC THINKER on jumping and shifted out bumping SAY I CEE YOU.
SAY I CEE YOU – Bumped on jumping by SAN PIERRE, which shifted out at the start.
 
LADY RINGO – Slow to begin.
 
BRADBURY – Slow to begin.
 
CRAB BOY – Overraced in the early stages. Shifted out near the 400m forcing DYNAMIC THINKER wider.
 
Race 6: TAB Maiden Plate – 1400m
 
Trainer B. Guy was fined $200 for the late notification of a gear change of winkers on for the first time on DEEP SEEDED.
 
Trainer S. Kurz was severely reprimanded in that RIVERKY raced in the incorrect tongue-tie as per the National Equipment Register.
 
TIRALARC – Began awkwardly.
 
GREYT INTENTIONS – Overraced in the early stages. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
EASTMAN – Improved into a tight run near the 650m and shifted in bumping HOONING.
 
MISSILE MANIA – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
BECANDLENI - Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
TO DEM WITH LOVE - Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
WEKA PASS - Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
HOONING – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near fore-leg. Trainer A. Plumb was advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to the mare racing again.
 
DEEP SEEDED - Jockey R. Maloney reported his mount did not feel comfortable on today’s Soft 6 track. Trainer B. Guy agreed with the remarks of Jockey Maloney.
 
Race 7: Dubious @ Aquis In 2020 Benchmark 72 Handicap – 1100m
 
AGGRAVATE – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
RED DEVIL – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
PUPPET MASTER – Began awkwardly and shifted out marginally soon after the start inconveniencing LEGAL COUNSEL. Trainer S. Kendrick advised Stewards that when being loaded onto the transportation truck the gelding was found to have the presence of blood in the near side nostril. Mr Kendrick was advised that the gelding must gallop over 1000m in the presence of a Steward prior to being permitted to race again.
SUKWHINDER – Shifted in slightly at the start bumping LEGAL COUNSEL.
 
LEGAL COUNSEL – After beginning awkwardly was bumped by SUKWHINDER, which shifted in marginally and as a result clipped the heels of PUPPET MASTER, which shifted out slightly causing LEGAL COUNSEL to blunder.
 
STELLAR POWER – Overraced in the middle stages.
 
Race 8: XXXX Dry Benchmark 65 Handicap – 2200m
 
ELECTRIC ELLYSE was declared a late scratching at 3.27 p.m. acting on veterinary advice after the mare was found to be lame in the off fore-leg. All monies invested on ELECTRIC ELLYSE were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 3.27 p.m.

SPIRIT OF EDYN – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early stages until improving forward and obtaining the lead near the 1400m. Shifted wider leaving the 900m and raced wide from that point onwards.
 
SPEAKING BAD – Raced wide in the early stages until improving and obtaining the lead near the 1300m.
 
LADY SOLEMO – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
MOGUL – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 9: Vale Ben Moore Class 1 Handicap – 1200m
 
ALL BOOM - Stood flatfooted as the start was effected and lost considerable ground. As this was the second occasion that ALL BOOM has previously performed in the same manner Trainer S. Morrisey was advised that the filly must obtain two consecutive barrier certificates prior to being permitted to race again.  
 
OSAYCAN – Stood flatfooted as the start was effected and lost considerable ground. Trainer L. Kelly was advised that the mare must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to being permitted to race again.
 
WOMAN OF GOLD – Began awkwardly.
 
AIOLOS – Improved into a narrow run near the 800m and clipped the heels of SMOOTH MOVE, which shifted in slightly.
 
PHANTOM SHADOW – Bumped on the hind quarters leaving the 300m and became unbalanced. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
GREAT AFFAIR – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Jockey J. Woodhouse (ALL BOOM) was reprimanded for striking his horse on two occasions in a consecutive manner prior to the 100m.
 
Stewards adjourned an inquiry into an incident near the 300m to a date and time to be fixed to to allow App J. Huxtable (SMOOTH MOVE) to have his Master C. Munce present. Jockey S. Thornton (FA FA) and App M. Kennedy (WOMAN OF GOLD) were both involved in this incident and will also be required to attend the adjourned inquiry.
 
Stewards adjourned a further inquiry into the riding of ANKARA FOX by Jockey M. Murphy approaching the winning post.
