Race 1: Skyline Restaurant Book Online Maiden Handicap – 1200m
 
SIR EDMUND – Began awkwardly.
 
ARATULA – Began awkwardly and shifted out tightening runners to its outside. Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
LUCKY TIME – Late leaving the enclosure due to having to be resaddled. Tightened for room on jumping by ARATULA, which shifted out and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority of the race. When questioned regarding today’s performance Jockey M. Murphy stated that whilst the mare raced wide throughout once placed under pressure leaving the 500m he felt the horse was awkward in its action and for that reason did not place it under pressure after entering the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the off hind leg. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to the mare racing or trialling again.
 
THINKLIKELIGHTNING – Tightened for room on jumping. On returning to scale Jockey C. Taylor was of the opinion that the gelding may have choked down during running. Trainer G. Baker advised Stewards that in light of today’s performance it is now his intention to add a tongue-tie to the horse’s gear again. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
JIMMY NEUTRON – Slow to begin.
TOPLINE – Slow to begin.                 
 
BARBICAN – Slow into stride. Improved onto heels leaving the 400m and became unbalanced for a short distance when being restrained.
 
BLACK WHITTO – Shifted inwards at the start tightening runners to its inside.
 
DOLLAREURO - A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have the presence of blood in its right side nostril. Connections were advised that the horse must gallop over 1000m to the satisfaction of Stewards before being permitted to race again.
 
Jockey R. Palmer (JIMMY NEUTRON) was cautioned in relation to the use of her whip prior to the 100m.
 
Race 2: Griffin 2007 – 2012 Fillies & Mares Class 1 Plate – 1400m
 
Due to a clerical error S. Appthorpe was declared as the rider of RELIABLE LASS and was subsequently replaced by S. Doyle.  
 
MAHUSSEY – Slow into stride.
 
BALERION – Raced fiercely in the early stages.
 
MISS BULITZ – Overraced in the middle stages.
 
DIVINE DECADENCE – Shifted out near the 350m bumping SAPPHIRE GIFT, which became unbalanced and shifted out hampering SHE’S RUBICOOL.
 
SAPPHIRE GIFT – Bumped near the 350m becoming unbalanced.
 
SHE’S RUBICOOL – Hampered near the 350m by SAPPHIRE GIFT, which became unbalanced when bumped. When questioned as to the seemingly disappointing performance App S. Tomlinson stated that the filly travelled well in the early and middle stages however, failed to run on when placed under pressure and in his opinion raced flat. Trainer D. Forster was of the opinion that the filly may not have appreciated the step up to 1400m today and would freshen the horse up and concentrate on a shorter distance than that of today’s event. Ms Forster gave a further undertaking to advise Stewards of anything that may come to her attention in the pursuing days that may have had a bearing on today’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
App K. Wilson-Taylor (MUDGEGONGA) was reminded of his obligations in relation to the use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
Race 3:  Griffin 2017 – 2018 Class 5 Handicap – 1400m
 
IVY’S DREAM – Slow to begin. Commenced to overrace leaving the 1200m when being restrained when attempting to take a position closer to the rail and as a result was then obliged to race three wide without cover for the remainder of the race.
 
HOLBROOK – Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously leaving the 1100m and continued to do so and when placed under pressure in the home straight had a tendency to lay out.
 
BRADBURY – Had difficulty obtaining clear running leaving the 300m until near the 200m.
 
BALMACEDA – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils during the race. Connections were advised that the gelding would incur a 3 month ban from racing and must undertake a 1000m gallop to the satisfaction of Stewards before being permitted to race again.
 
App K. Wilson-Taylor (IVY’S DREAM) was reprimanded for his use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
 
Race 4: Griffin 2019 – 2020 Benchmark 68 Handicap – 2200m
 
The start was delayed when MOMENTUM TO WIN proved difficult to load. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.
 
CHARLIE’S WORLD – Began awkwardly. Shifted wider near the 1800m to improve and raced three wide until leaving the 1400m where it obtained a position to race outside the leader. Compounded in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
ROMANI COUNTESS – Slow to begin. Bumped on two occasions near the 400m by EL CHAPARRO, which shifted out to obtain clear running.
 
HUSSON’S PRIDE – Slow to begin.
 
MOMENTUM TO WIN – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
EL CHAPARRO – Shifted out to improve approaching the 400m bumping ROMANI COUNTESS on two occasions.
 
 
Race 5: Hall of Famer Daniel Griffin Benchmark 68 Handicap – 900m
 
CHARWAY – Slow to begin.
 
MAGIC SCENT – Slow to begin. On returning to scale Jockey C. Taylor reported his saddle shifted back during running placing him at a slight disadvantage.
 
REAL CUTE – Slow to begin.
 
SERTIN – Began awkwardly.
 
FLYING FROG – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
YOUR OPTION – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
BEFANA – Raced four wide without cover for the majority of the race.
App D. Graham (REMEMBER MARY) was reprimanded in that she struck the mare in two consecutive strikes on two occasions prior to the 100m.
 

Race 6: Racing At Beaudesert July 25 QTIS 3YO Benchmark 68 Handicap – 1800m
 
PARANGAS – Slow to begin.
 
CLASS OF ROYALTY – Shifted in near the 1600m crowding THE MINIVAN. When questioned regarding the gelding’s performance Jockey M. Murphy stated that the gelding travelled well in the early and middle stages however, failed to run on when placed under pressure and in his opinion may have come to the end of its preparation. Trainer J. Zielke agreed with the comments of Jockey Murphy and advised Stewards it is now his intention that CLASS OF ROYALTY be sent for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities and a swab sample was taken.
 
THE MINIVAN – Steadied near the 1600m when crowded for room.
 
HAWAIIAN GEM – Shifted in near the 1500m placing runners to its inside in restricted room. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
SAVASPUR – Raced in restricted room for a short distance near the 1500m.
 
THRUM – Raced in restricted room for a short distance near the 1500m.
 
 
Race 7: Membership Renewals Open Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 1 Plate – 1400m
 
The start was delayed when S. Galloway was dislodged from EPPLAUSE when proceeding to the barriers. After being caught after a short distance the gelding was returned to the barriers, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Jockey Galloway was examined by the QAS officers and cleared to fulfil his engagement.
 
THE KNIGHT – Slow to begin. The gelding’s tongue-tie became loose shortly after the start.
 
KEEN ON GOLD – Slow to begin.
 
SUPER CONTENDER – Overraced in the early stages. Shifted in near the 200m bumping BRONCKS, which became unbalanced and shifted in. Jockey G. Colless (SUPER CONTENDER) was advised to show greater care when shifting ground.
 
BRONCKS – Bumped by SUPER CONTENDER near the 200m and shifted in becoming awkward at the heels of THE DRILLER, which shifted out and had to be momentarily restrained.
 
THE DRILLER – Shifted out under pressure leaving the 200m inconveniencing BRONCKS. Jockey D. Griffin (THE DRILLER) was advised to show greater care when shifting ground.
Jockey D. Griffin (THE DRILLER) was reprimanded for making a celebratory gesture prior to the winning post.
 
 
Race 8: Dan Griffin 10th Jockey Premiership Benchmark 68 Handicap – 1200m
 
Trainer C. Munce was fined $100 for the late declaration of J. Grob as the rider of WOOLSEY.
 
CELTIC TIGER – Slow to begin.
 
CABALO ESCURO – Shifted out on jumping bumping UNDERWOOD. Tightened for room near the 1100m and had to be restrained.
 
UNDERWOOD – Shifted inwards on jumping bumping CABALO ESCURO. Shifted in and away from WOOLSEY near the 1100m crowding CABALO ESCURO, which in turn shifted in bumping SANGLIER on the hind quarters, which was turned outwards tightening the running of CABALO ESCURO, which had to be restrained.
 
SANGLIER – Bumped on the hind quarters by CABALO ESCURO, which was forced inwards near the 1100m.
 
DYNAMIC DUO – Had difficulty obtaining clear running from leaving the 500m until entering the home straight. Near the 250m shifted out to obtain clear running bumping CONQUERMORE on the hind quarters, which became unbalanced. Jockey J. Taylor (DYNAMIC DUO) was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
 
CONQUERMORE – Shifted in slightly near the 250m and was bumped on the hind quarters by DYNAMIC DUO and became unbalanced.
 
FLIRTY DEB – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
Following the running of this race Jockey S. Galloway advised Stewards he had slight soreness in the left shoulder after being dislodged during the preliminary.
