Race 1: BEDMAX DUSTFREE PINE SHAVINGS Maiden Plate Four-Years-Old and Upwards 900 Metres
 
FREEDOM FACTOR –As the gelding was having its first start after a long absence from racing it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
 
DEEP FINE LEG – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
ROWLING – Raced four wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
WILD GERANIUM – Raced three wide for the majority of the race.
 
CAT TWO – Raced greenly for the majority of the race and laid out rounding the home turn.
 
DANITES – Laid out rounding the home turn and continued to do so when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
MITHU – Laid out rounding the home turn. Whilst having a tendency to lay out under pressure over the concluding stages, was forced wider by DANITES, which laid out under pressure.
 
 
Race 2: CLOPF FIBRE SURFACES Class 5 Handicap 1800 Metres
 
MISSED THE ALARM – Over-raced in the early and middle stages and threw its head in the air when being restrained near the 1000 metres.
 
SNIPPETSPEED – Had a tendency to over-race in the middle stages.
 
Race 3: FIBRETRACK Class 2 Handicap 1800 Metres
 
AIOLOS – Slow to begin.
 
MIGHTY QUINN – Commenced to race ungenerously leaving the 1500 metres and continued to do so for some distance, throwing its head in the air and shifting in near the 1350 metres, brushing the running rail. Rider A. Fancourt advised Stewards she was of the opinion the gelding resented its tongue-tie. Trainer R. Hurley advised Stewards that he would experiment with a gear change prior to the horse’s next start.
 
SCILAGO – Returned to the enclosure with blood in its mouth. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a small laceration to its upper gum.
 
BECANDLENI – When questioned in to its performance, rider T. Wolfgram advised Stewards it was not his intention to lead today but due to the lack of pace the gelding found the lead easily, however he was of the opinion the horse is better suited when ridden off the pace. Stewards noted his explanation. Trainer L. Kelly agreed with rider T. Wolfgram’s assessment of the horse’s performance.
 
Race 4: ARCHERFIELD JET BASE BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1100 Metres
 
FRENCH OCEAN – Slow in to stride. Had a tendency to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
SENRIMA TIDE – Began awkwardly. Held up for clear running entering the home straight.
 
DECISIVE HEART – Over-raced in the early stages, throwing its head in the air.
 
ROYAL PHOENIX – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
NIEWAND – Rider B. Nothdurft was cautioned over his use of the whip in the home straight.
 
Race 5: POLYTRACK Maiden Plate 1400 Metres
 
BELLARINE– Connections advised rider to ride mare quietly from its wide barrier to ensure it runs out a solid 1400 metres. This was broadcast through media outlets. Ridden accordingly. Delayed the start when proved difficult to load. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the mare’s barrier manners.
 
PRINCE HUSSON – Slow to begin.
 
MACIPENKO – Began awkwardly and shifted in, bumping it’s inside barrier petition. Lost its off-hind plate during running.
SEARENTE – Slow to begin. Raced fiercely for a short distance when being restrained to allow runners to improve forward leaving the 1100 metres. Laid in near the 900 metres, bumping the running rail. Finished tailed off. Rider M. Murphy advised Stewards the gelding raced greenly throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Whilst Stewards noted it was the gelding’s first race start, a warning was placed on its competiveness.
 
ELGIN – Rider S. Cormack was reprimanded for use of the whip prior to the 100m – 7 times – 2 more than permitted pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii).
 
Race 6: MARTIN COLLINS AUSTRALIA QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 900 Metres
 
MISS JEDI – Slow to begin.
 
MISHANI FORTUNE – Slow to begin.
 
AVENTURINE – Began awkwardly. Crowded for room by NOBLE WAR, which laid in momentarily near the 600 metres.

NOBLE WAR – Laid in near the 600 metres, crowding AVENTURINE. Following the running of this race, rider T. Wolfgram was examined by the ambulance officers and stood down from his remaining ride due to non-race day injury. T. Wolfgram was transported to the Gold Coast Hospital for further observation.
 
STREAKA – Commenced to hang out leaving the 600 metres, shifting wider inconveniencing SHORT SARA near the 500 metres. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the fillies racing manners.
 
SHORT SARA – Inconvenienced near the 500 metres by STREAKA, which hung out. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
Race 7: CARMALK CONSULTING Class 1 Plate 1300 Metres
 
WEALTH'N'POWER – Put its head down in the barrier as the start was being effected and lost considerable ground. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.
 
STILL INVINCIBLE – Fractious in the barriers. Began awkwardly.
 
JAZZ QUEEN – Shifted out to obtain clear running near the 300 metres, bumping UBETWEDO.
 
UBETWEDO – Bumped by JAZZ QUEEN, which shifted out near the 300 metres.
 
VIVID FORTRESS – Connections advised rider to ride the mare back in the field. This was broadcast through media outlets. Ridden accordingly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
DENCH – Compounded over the concluding stages of the race. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Race 8: LEADERS IN EQUINE SURFACES BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1400 Metres
 
THE DEMTEL MAN – As T. Wolfgram was stood down following his ride in Race 6. He was replaced by S. Cormack as the rider of the gelding. Blundered on jumping. Disappointed for a run leaving the 300 metres, having to be steadied.
 
BRINKMANSHIP – Bumped shortly after the start. Over-raced in the early and middle stages. When questioned in to its performance, rider J. Taylor stated that the gelding over-raced in the early and middle stages, which was a telling factor in it not finishing the race off. Stewards noted his explanation.
 
YABA DABL DOYA – Slow to begin.
 
TAKEITTOTHELIMIT – Slow to begin.
 
TICINO BELLE – Blundered badly on jumping. Shifted in near the 1100 metres, bumping STOKED. Laid in near the 250 metres, having to be steadied from the heels of BRINKMANSHIP, which shifted out slightly.
 
STOKED – Shifted in shortly after the start, bumping BRINKMANSHIP. Held up for clear running near the 350 metres.
