GENERAL
 
Due to the heavy rainfall in the latter part of this week, a portion of the track near the 900 metre chute was unsuitable for racing. As a result the distance of Race 3 was amended to 1000 metres.
 
Rider El-Issa was fined $750 pursuant to AR123(2) for possession of a modified vest.
 
EAGLE FARM  RACE 8: THE MILLERS SWIM SCHOOL CLASS 2 HANDICAP OVER 1600 METRES 10 MARCH 2021
 
WHOZYADEELER – Trainer T Gollan reported that it had pulled up satisfactorily following its disappointing performance and will now be spelled.
 
 
RACE 1: HIIT 90.0 BIANCA, DAN & BEN BENCHMARK 75 HANDICAP 1200 METRES
 
RAGING POLE – Raced three-wide with cover throughout.
 
TARDIS – Got its head up on a couple of occasions shortly after the start when being restrained after jumping from a wide barrier and attempting to obtain a position with cover.
 
ANGUS THE BLACK – Raced three-wide without cover throughout. 
 
MOLLY’S ROCKING – Laid in over the home straight.
 
METSON – Jumped away awkwardly resulting in rider B El-Issa losing his near side iron, which he regained shortly thereafter. Laid outwards from the 400 metres and making the turn in the home straight.
 
PULL ANCHOR – Was hampered and crowded shortly after the start. Returned having lost its near fore plate.
 
DYNAMIC VERSE – Slow to begin.
 
AXE – Raced keen in the early stages.
 
 
RACE 2: SKY RACING CLASS 6 PLATE 1100 METRES
 
KYLEASE – Raced keen in the early stages. Rider S Thornton reported that the mare failed to handle today’s track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
MOONSHINE LADY – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
PARTNERS – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
JE SUIS BELLE – Made contact with PARTNERS shortly after the start and had to be steadied off that gelding’s heels when it rolled outwards.
 
SAY HAYA – Got its head up shortly after the start when being restrained after jumping from a wide barrier and attempting to obtain a position with cover.
 
DEFENCE MISSILE – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
BUCKIN’ BEAUTY – Jumped away awkwardly. Rider R Maloney could offer no explanation for the mare’s disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
AIR SPIRIT – Slow to begin.
 
 
RACE 3: MARTIN COLLINS OPEN HANDICAP 1000 METRES
 
SUGAR BOOM – The mare underwent a pre-race veterinary examination which revealed a laceration on the mare’s near hind cannon and the mare was subsequently cleared to start. Raced three-wide without cover throughout. Laid outwards making the turn in the straight. Eased down in the straight. Poor performance. Rider M Rodd reported that the mare failed to handle today’s track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the off fore, poor post-race recovery, and a laceration on the mare’s off hock. Trainer C Cavanough’s representative was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the mare’s next race start. 
 
I’VE GOTTA NEL – Poor performance. Apprentice L Kilner reported that although the gelding had previous heavy track from, the gelding travelled well initially however when placed under pressure failed to respond and was disappointing.
 
WIRNPA – Start was delayed due to the gelding’s near hind having to be replated. The gelding returned having lost its off fore plate.  
 
CASINO THOUGHTS – Slow to begin.
 
HALLSIDEHANKYPANKY – The filly returned having lost its near hind plate.
 
BE WATER MY FRIEND – Slow to begin.
 
 
RACE 4: CARBINE CLUB GOLD COAST STAKES 1800 METRES
 
SIR BARNABUS – Start was delayed due to the gelding’s off fore having to be replated. Slow in to stride.
 
WILLO TITTO – Rider J Bayliss was fined $500 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on seven (7) occasions prior to the 100 metres, being two (2) more than permitted.
 
MISS REDOBLE – Pulled hard in the early and middle stages.
 
 
RACE 5: AUSTRALIAN TURF CLUB TROPHY 1400 METRES
 
THE CANDY MAN – Slow to begin. Shortly after the start had to be steadied off the heels of MACEWEN after being carried inwards by SOCIALISING. Bumped TOP PROSPECT making the turn in the straight. Inclined to lay inwards in the straight. Near the 100 metres had to be steadied outwards across the heels of MACEWEN.
 
TOP PROSPECT – Raced wide without cover throughout. Bumped THE CANDY MAN making the turn in the straight.
 
JUNCTION – Bumped on jumping.
 
SOCIALISING – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
MACEWEN – Jumped awkwardly outwards making contact with JUNCTION.
 
VICTORY EIGHT – Slow to begin.
 
TAKE TEA – Poor performance. Rider R Fradd reported that whilst the mare normally handles the heavy track he was obliged to race on the inside of the track which, in his opinion, was inferior and the mare failed to run on and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
FLASH AAH – Resaddled at the barriers.
 
 
RACE 6: AQUIS QTIS JEWEL TWO-YEAR-OLD PLATE 1200 METRES
 
Jim Byrne, the rider of the 3rd placegetter KING GUTHO, lodged an objection against 2nd placegetter AHOOSHU for alleged interference at the 150 metres. It was established that near the 150 metres AHOOSHU and KING GUTHO both shifted out slightly and Stewards were subsequently of the opinion that AHOOSHU did not impede the running of KING GUTHO and as a result the protest was dismissed and correct weight was declared.
 
GEMELON BOLT – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from heat stress following the event.
 
AHOOSHU – Near the 800 metres had to be steadied when racing keenly on the heels of GEMELON BOLT.
 
TIKKA READY – Near the 300 metres was steadied off the heels of VIENNA EMPRESS.
 
KING GUTHO – Was inconvenienced and carried in shortly after the start when SWEET DOLLY jumped awkwardly inwards. Near the 800 metres had to be steadied when racing keenly.
 
GENERAL PHELPS – Slow to begin.
 
SWEET DOLLY – Jumped awkwardly inwards.
 
MISHANI ENCHANTED – Slow to begin.
 
MISHANI DELIGHT – Jumped awkwardly outwards.
 
ALERT AND READY – Lost ground when inconvenienced on jumping to the outside of MISHANI DELIGHT, which jumped awkwardly outwards.
 
VIENNA EMPRESS – Bumped on jumping.
 
 
RACE 7: TAB MILITARY ROSE PLATE 1200 METRES
 
LOVE YOU LUCY – Raced tight for a short distance after the start and made contact with EURO BELLE when racing tight between JADENTOM and OH FIVE GLORY. 
 
CHIVARGO – Race three-wide without cover throughout.
 
EURO BELLE – Raced tight for a short distance after the start and made contact with LOVE YOU LUCY when racing tight between JADENTOM and OH FIVE GLORY. Was momentarily held up passing the 200 metres.
 
GEM OF SCOTLAND – Inclined to lay inwards in the straight.
 
STOKED – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare had been galloped on its off hind and had consequently lost its off hind plate.
 
 
RACE 8: TAB QTIS JEWEL THREE-YEAR-OLD PLATE 1200 METRES
 
SIMPLY FLY – Laid inwards in the straight.
 
ZINGALONG – Raced wide without cover.
 
KISUKANO – Near the 900 metres was checked by MISHANI MISS and lost ground. Rider B El-Issa was found guilty of a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that near the 900 metres he permitted his mount to shift inwards crowding BETTER GET SET onto KISUKANO, which checked and lost ground. Rider El-Issa’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of fourteen (14) days to commence at midnight on 21 March 2021 and to expire on 4 April 2021.
 
BETTER THAN BEST – Near the 900 metres had to be eased off the heels of MADE OF MONEY, which steadied in front.
 
QUEEN SWEEPER – Raced extremely wide without cover throughout.
 
MIAMI FLEISS – Poor performance. Rider M Rodd reported that the filly laid in throughout and failed to handle today’s track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
MADE OF MONEY – Near the 900 metres steadied off the heels of MISHANI MISS, which shifted in. Returned having lost its near hind plate. Apprentice L Kilner reported that the filly felt awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be sore in its front fetlocks, was slightly short striding in front and had a laceration on the off side of its mouth. Trainer M Fry was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the filly’s next race start. Trainer M Fry advised the filly would now be spelled. 
 
 
RACE 9: CANADIAN CLUB BENCHMARK 85 HANDICAP 1300 METRES
 
AGASSI – Near the 900 metres was momentarily steadied off the heels of LET’S PARTY MARTY.
 
I AM A ROCKER – Refused to load in the barriers and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 5:37pm by order of Stewards.

Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards declared all bets on I AM A ROCKER be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply:

2 cents the win (AKAGE)
2 cents the place (AKAGE)
2 cents the place (LOVE STRUCK)
2 cents (DIO D’ORO)
 
Trainer B Dais was advised that a barrier certificate would be required prior to the mare racing again.
