Prior to the declaration of correct weight stewards considered an objection lodged by the connections of the 2nd placed THAT’LLDOTOO against GINJA (J Guthmann-Chester) being declared the winner alleging interference in the home straight. After taking submissions from all parties and viewing stewards patrol footage, stewards found that near the 150m whilst GINJA had commenced to shift out, THAT’LLDOTOO also laid in marginally and as a result became awkward at the heels of GINJA. Stewards further found that near the 100m GINJA continued to shift out and as a result THAT’LLDOTOO was forced wider on the track losing some forward momentum. Stewards however could not be satisfied that had this interference not occurred that THAT’LLDOTOO would have finished ahead of GINJA at the conclusion of the event, particularly bearing in mind the long neck margin between the runners and therefore dismissed the objection. Correct weight was then declared on the judges semaphored numbers.

GULLFOSS – Raced keenly in the early stages. Held up approaching and rounding the home turn.
