WILL HE FOXTROT – Slow to begin. Stewards inquired into the tactics adopted in the early stages, and the overall performance of WILL HE FOXTROT. Apprentice J. Williams advised Stewards that his instructions were not to overly pressure the gelding in the early stages, and allow the horse to balance up, in an effort to allow the horse to finish the race off, as it was resuming from a recent letup. He further stated that he was advised not to race to the inside of the track as connections believed this to be inferior going. Apprentice Williams advised that after beginning awkwardly, and bearing in mind the instructions issued, he did not overly pressure WILL HE FOXTROT to maintain the position, racing behind BONNIE EV, resulting in CORONEL managing to secure the position in front of him. Apprentice Williams further added that the gelding did not commence to travel comfortably until approaching the 700m, and the gelding finished off well when placed under pressure in the home straight. Stewards noted apprentice Williams comments.

THE GOLDEN SOUL – Raced three wide for the majority.

CORONEL – Apprentice Y. Lewis advised that that gelding failed to handle today’s track conditions and would also appreciate a step up in distance.

NANAKOROBI YAOKI – Over raced in the early stages.

ROSE OF MAHER – Bumped shortly after the start.

Race 6: YOU NEED A MY QUEENSLAND HOLIDAY Class 2 Handicap 1700 metres

A DEEL OF HUMOUR – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.

PRINCESS SPARKLES – Raced three wide from the 900m. Rider R. Fradd reported that the mare travelled well and responded to his riding when asked for an effort leaving the 600m however, did not maintain its run in the home straight, which he attributed to the heavy track conditions.

SHOPPING WISE – Began awkwardly resulting in its rider becoming momentarily unbalanced. Momentarily held up approaching the home turn.

DINNY'S A SUSPECT – Raced three wide without cover for the majority.

CHAOTIC CRANACH – Slow to begin and hampered shortly afterwards. Raced keenly in the early stages. Leaving the 600m raced in restricted room.

Race 7: TRILLIONAIRE THUGS NFT COLLECTION OPEN Handicap 1300 metres

PARKO – Jockey L. Allen advised on returning to scale that the gelding did not appreciate todays’ heavy track conditions. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted on the horse and the overall performance, jockey L. Allen explained that her instructions were to ride the horse in its usual pattern she had it ridden it previously, where she has established a clear lead on the horse. She is of the opinion that the horse is best ridden in this manner. She further added that after establishing the lead, she was able to allow the gelding to travel comfortably in the middle section of the event, however, approaching the home turn, the horse became awkward in its action and did not feel comfortable when placed under pressure in the heavy track conditions. Stewards questioned stable representative J. Morrisey who advised them that in his opinion the gelding may have come to the end of its preparation given the manner in which PARKO finished the race. Stewards noted the comments of both Mr Morrisey and rider L. Allen. A post race veterinary examination revealed a slow post race recovery and a swab sample was taken from the gelding.

THE DARK (NZ) – Jockey M. Hellyer commented that did not handle today’s heavy track conditions.

MA MA'S ROSE – Jockey A. Allen reported that the mare didn’t handle today’s heavy track conditions.

SPILL THE DIAMONDS – Jockey M. Hellyer advised on returning to scale, that it was not his intention to lead, however after beginning well he elected to take up a forward position.

KALPANA – Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
