Race 1 : AUSWEST BROKERS HCP CLASS 1 – 1000m
LYNYRD SKYNYRD – Slow into stride and ran very wide on home turn.
MORE FAVULOUS - Jumped in at the start bumping another runner. Raced below market expectations . Jockey N Yamada advised that his instructions were to be in the first three but the gelding did not show early pace and had to be ridden along to hold a position. Jockey N Yamada felt that the horse then only battled to the line and was disappointing. Trainer D Baker said that he expected that the horse would be hard to beat but was very disappointed with the geldings effort and could offer no reason for its moderate performance. Explanations noted.
I AM MCLOVIN – Raced wide & fiercely in the early stages.
CHARZOOKA – Shifted in the last 100m.

After viewing the patrol video S Apthorpe the rider of POUND ON TUBBY, placed 2nd by the judge lodged an objection against I DO CARE ( L Appo) being declared the winner, alleging interference in the last 100m. After hearing submissions from all parties and viewing the patrol videos, Stewards found that leaving the 100 m I DO CARE shifted in very slightly brushing POUND ON TUBBY which in turn layed out contacting I DO CARE over the concluding stages. Bearing in mind the contributions of both horses in the incident Stewards could not be satisfied that the protest should be upheld & therefore dismissed the objection & declared correct weight for the original semaphored numbers.
