GENERAL

Appr Jky O Kendall was unable to ride at today’s meeting due to sustaining an injury at the Dalby Race Club meeting on the 7/4/2022 and as Appr O O’Donnell was injured during the running of Race 2 rider changes as per the Stewards Summary.

Prior to the commencement of the meeting Stewards conducted an inspection of the track and raised concerns with the Club Management regarding the inconsistency of the grass length from the 1000m chute to the 400m and from the 400m to the 1000m point with the latter being much shorter than the former. Stewards also raised concerns regarding several large divots of various depths between the 300m and the 150m point. The Club performed repairs to the area concerned, a subsequent inspection by Stewards and a number of senior riders deemed the track safe for racing for the remainder of his meeting.

As a result of a fall during Race 2 a further inspection was undertaken at the 600m point and other areas of concern. As a result of Stewards inquiring into the state of the track with a number of senior riders that had ridden earlier in the day, it was the opinion of those riders the track was safe and therefore, stewards ordered that the meeting to proceed.

Stewards permitted the following riders to ride overweight at today’s meeting-

Race 4- J Missen- +.5kg, S Sweedman- +1.0kg.
