Race 1: AMBROSE HAULAGE/AIRCAIR/BOGGABILLA TOWN & COUNTRY CLUB QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000M
 
SPOT ON READY- Slow to begin.
 
POPS BLUE- Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
RED SHIRAZ- Slow to begin then raced at the rear of the field for some distance before the rider elected to commence racing wide from the 600m point with cover. After entering the home straight tended to lay out for a short distance before being corrected by the rider.
 
WINDSONG- Stewards questioned Trainer Mr W Munro regarding the seemingly improved performance of the Filly since her last race starts. Mr Munro advised this run was the horse’s second run for the stable and the filly had settled into the stables and had been working well. He added he was disappointed with the run at Warwick last start and the change of rider, an extra 200m he was confident of a forward showing at todays meeting. Stewards noted Mr Munro’s comments.
 
LADY CASTLEDINE- Appr Jky L Sykes was replaced by Appr Jky C Sutherland due to not being able to claim his full allowance down to his minimum riding weight. After considering Appr Jky’s Sykes poor record in relation to this offence stewards then acting under the provision of AR143(14)(a) fined Appr jky Sykes the sum of $100.
 
 
Race 2: BORDER MOTEL/ GUNDY CUP SEPTEMBER 9 CLASS B HANDICAP 1200M
 
BRIGHT REALM- After viewing the patrol film of the start Stewards noted that the horse’s barrier did not open with the remainder of the field therefore, in the opinion of Stewards denying BRIGHT REALM a fair start. After hearing a submission from Trainer Mr J Gleeson and Appr Jky D Bennett Stewards acting under the provision of AR204(1) declared the horse a non- runner with the following deductions to apply to all monies invested on the winner- 31c, place-28c, 2nd place 17c and 3rd place 9c. Stewards advised the Starter Mr I Henderson to access the barriers and take remedial action to ensure the barriers are operational for the remainder of the program.
 
LADY WAIRUA- Began awkwardly and made heavy contact with the left side barrier partition on jumping. Post Race veterinary examination was undertaken with no abnormalities detected.
 
DEDOR’S LAD- Disappointed for a run on entering the home straight and lost all momentum at that point.
 
IN A MINUTE RILEY- Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
A PRETTY PENNY- A post race veterinary examination was undertaken due to the disappointing performance of the Mare, no abnormalities were detected.
 
Race 3: MORELLA AG/GOONDIWINDI COTTON BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1200M
 
FITZROY BOY- Began to weaken at the 200m point after leading for the majority of the event.

ARTHUR IN CHARGE- Held up on entering the home turn for a short distance. Stewards questioned Jky B Andrew regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of the gelding in this event. Jky Andrew said the stable were disappointed in the run and expected a forward showing today. Ms Andrew said the lack of early pace and being held up at the top of the home straight contributed to the performance and that the gelding may be looking for further at this stage of its preparation. She also added the gelding did run on well over the final stages of the event. Stewards noted her comments.
 
AYTOBE- Slow to begin and raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
REALAIDE- Laid in when under pressure in the home straight.
 
ROGUE STAR-Tightened between runners in the home straight and at the 200m bumped with BARRYMORE which laid out for a short distance before being corrected by the rider,
 
BARRYMORE- Laid out for a short distance in the home straight and bumped with another runner at approximately the 200m point.
 
ROWDASH- Raced wide for the majority of the event. Jky H Philips reported to Stewards that her mount had over raced during the early stages of the event.
 
MOUNTBATTEN- Slow to begin.
 
WHISTLIN’ ARROW- Held up for a run in the home straight.
 
Race 4: TRIPLE CROWN SERIES- THREE CUPS BONUS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1400M
 
STRYKING PRINCESS- Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
TELL THE WORLD- Slow into stride and raced at the rear of the field during the early stages of the event. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
YAMUMZA- Laid in for some distance in the home straight before being corrected by the rider.
 
BEACH CLUB- Raced wide for the majority of the event. Raced at the rear of the field from the 300m point for the remainder. Jky B Andrew advised Stewards that approximately 150m after the start that her saddle had slipped preventing her from having control and being able to fully testing her mount out for the remainder of the event.
 
Race 5: CARRINGTON COTTON BOGGABILLA CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1400M
 
HOSTAGE OF WAR- Bumped with BOULT shortly after the start.
 
JOCHBERG- Slow to begin and then raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event.
 
SNOWFIRE- Began awkwardly with its head in the air.
 
JAKKALBERRY FINN- Stood flat footed at the start and raced at the rear of the field for a short distance and began improving into the race from the 400m and ran on strongly while being wide over the final stages of the event. Stewards advised Trainer D Baker that a Warning would be placed on the horse for standing flat footed at the start.
 
BARCLAY’S BANK- Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
BOULT- Bumped another runner shortly after the start.
